"Hearth, Castro by pixelstud. Here the baked goods with your coffee come delivered just feet away from behind the counter, where bakers mix, stir and knead (just like your kitty does). The croissants are the best in the city — flaky up front and soft in the center. Along with a bakery this cafe serves wine and the occasional weekend prix-fix menu. Located at the end of the F-line, the historic streetcar is always in view."
2018: 8 months later, remembered me ☺️, still best 🥐 in SF. Brekky 🥐, 2 poached eggs & bacon, amazing 🤤
2017: 'Best 🥐 in SF'? Hearth nails it.
2015: Great low key high quality cafe. Roasters, bakers, wine tasters! Coffee 5. Food 5. Environment 5. Service 5. Price 5.

We came here for a private function. The restaurant owner graciously agreed to host our party of about 30 people for dinner. We had a fantastic experience. From the ambiance, to the staff and the food - it was perfect. Most importantly the staff and the owner made us feel so comfortable. I'll definitely be going back for their famous croissants.

They do indeed have the best croissants in the city! Amazing poach on the eggs and fantastic avocado toast!

If you can appreciate a good croissant, you won't be disappointed with Hearth's. They also bake their own bread, it's pricey, but I have no doubt delicious. This is a really neat little neighborhood café.

Stopped in for brunch one morning on a recent trip. The food was amazing and the wait staff was amazing! We had the strata and a cinnamon/caramel pastry - absolutely delicious!

Well-designed and elegantly stérile milieu in which to drink pricey but barely-above-average cappuccinos in paper cups. Also, they have pretty rigid rules concerning how long you can sit there with laptops etc, which doesn't quite add to the feeling of hospitality. Otherwise, cool place.

Looked delicious but tasted terrible. Poached egg overdone and the toast hard as a rock. I enjoyed the sparkling wine for $5 but also think overzealous policy on laptops made me uncomfortable to even relax for an hour or two.

Dinners with Giulia are awesome. Every Wed-Fri. Once you try it I Ann sure you will make a habit of it. Quite addicting.
