Old school luxury hotel in a good location in the city centre. Several shopping malls are within a short walk and Lumphini Park is also within walking distance. The staff has a very good level of service.
The Grand Executive Suite King room was a very good size and had good views from the 18th floor. The room furnishings were in impeccable condition, considering the age of the hotel, but the interior design style in the room is morally a bit outdated (the interior design style of the hotel's public areas is OK). Spacious bathroom and two toilets (one of them with a washing function). We were on the 18th floor, but the street noise was very audible in the room (we have stayed in a neighbouring hotel and the rooms were very quiet there).
Since we were immediately directed to enjoy Club Happy Hour upon check-in, the introduction to the room and the hotel was missed and in the room we did not understand the principle of turning off the lights and also adjusting the air conditioning. Perhaps some useful information about the hotel was also missed.
Good size pool and a good relaxation area around the pool.
Very good breakfast. The selection was not very large, but sufficient and practically the entire selection was something you could try, which is rare in Asia, because in Asia most of the buffet food selection is very specific dishes that do not meet the preferences and habits of Western tourists. Everything we tried was delicious and there was also an a ’la carte menu.
We had a very busy schedule and unfortunately there was very little time to explore the hotel, but everything we saw left a good impression.
The Club was so crowded during Happy Hour that it was difficult to find a free seat. The Happy Hour food and drink selection was not very rich, but still sufficient.
Often the breakfast offered at the Club is a bit smaller in selection, but with an a ‘la carte menu and in a more relaxed environment. Here, however, the Club is quite small considering the number of visitors. The administrator recommended going to the regular breakfast restaurant because there is a larger selection.
Our room package included 1000 THB credit for the SPA, but this does not apply to all SPA services (at least not the cheaper ones we asked for) and even with this credit, the SPA services are still several times more expensive than in neighbouring salons. We did not use this credit.
