"Celebrating its 15th anniversary, this restaurant has solidified itself as a Chicago mainstay (and more recently a presence in Los Angeles) known for American-meets-global, nose-to-tail dining and for helping catalyze Izard’s other concepts; when hosting a celebratory dinner there with Eater and Capital One she pulled popular dishes from her restaurants, sent guests home with small scones, and described the evening as one of the most chatty, excited, and genuinely fun groups she’s hosted." - Francky Knapp

"In the West Loop, this more‑than‑a‑decade‑old favorite from Stephanie Izard still delivers, and the sticky glazed pork shank is a showstopper: crispy, fall‑off‑the‑bone meat encrusted with chile‑lime crunch, paired with butternut squash, pickled vegetables, and hoisin and hot mustard mayos. I pile it into the accompanying flatbread or a lettuce cup for a flawless bite — an all‑time Eater 38 favorite for good reason." - Jeffy Mai

"Since winning season four of Top Chef in 2008, Stephanie Izard (Stephanie Izard, Best Chef: Great Lakes, 2013) has been one of the city’s most popular chefs. It’s still tough to get reservations at her original restaurant, Girl & the Goat where fans continue to flock in to try bold, signature dishes like oven-roasted pig face and goat empanadas. Izard capped off her quick rise to fame with a Best Chef: Great Lakes award in 2013. She’s since expanded her footprint with acclaimed restaurants Duck Duck Goat, Little Goat Diner, and Cabra, plus an LA location of Girl & the Goat and a line of condiments sold in grocery stores." - Naomi Waxman

"A restaurant opened by Top Chef winner Stephanie Izard, famous for its bold flavors and global influences." - Michael He

"The Chicago location is hosting a fundraiser brunch titled Chefs in Action, LA Fire Relief Brunch at 11 a.m. on Sunday, January 19; tickets are $150 and available via OpenTable. The team will serve brunch from an all-star lineup including Chicago chefs Jason Vincent of Giant and Jonathon Sawyer of Kindling. Maueet Chaunan, Joe Sasto, and Boston chef Karen Akunowicz will also contribute, with proceeds benefitting the California Wildfire Disaster & Relief Fund. Izard posted about her home near Altadena and Pasadena: “Beyond sad and scary, and far from over. Sending love and strength to all of those nearby the many fires continuing to break out around LA.” A rep says Izard, her family, and her home are safe, and the fire hasn’t damaged her restaurants, though many restaurant owners haven’t been so lucky as areas like Malibu and Altadena have been hit hard. Tickets are available via OpenTable." - Ashok Selvam
