Tucked away in a quiet courtyard off Avenida Santa Fe, this indie haven buzzes with bohemian charm, showcasing local artisans, eco-friendly finds, and a vibrant artsy vibe.
"Support local artists and designers at the Patio del Liceo. The namesake courtyard, tucked away from Avenida Santa Fe’s hustle and bustle, connects art galleries, clothes and shoe shops, and, notably, boutiques selling eco-friendly home decor. Walk to the end of each gallery level to watch designers at work: Many of the spaces also function as workshops where the goods on offer are made. Pick up a beautiful book at Brezal, the glassed-in stall in the main entry hall; get a customized gift for your pet at Think Animal; or take home some local music from Mercurio Disquería. Afternoon visits are recommended, as many shops don’t open until 4 p.m. or later. By Travesías"
"Dozens of small boutiques, art galleries, and workshops make up this cool indie co-op run by some of B.A.'s youngest—and brightest—designers, artists, and musicians. Although it's located on a major avenue (Santa Fe), the multi-level oasis remains hidden inside a quiet courtyard, which lends it an underground, bohemian feel. Hit Tienda Raíz for a dose of sustainable pieces vrafted by independent designers, like jewelry, backpacks, and playful paper and wooden sculptures, and Monoblock for fun everyday items you never knew you needed—think cute notebooks and calendars, T-shirts, books, and laptop covers. Many of the shops also double as the artisan’s actual workshop, where they'll sometimes host cultural activities and seminars, so make sure to see when to drop by." - Allie Lazar
