"Once a pharmacy, and then a neighborhood tavern and piano bar, the Five O’Clock became a steakhouse in 1946. Stepping inside its doors is like entering a time capsule decorated with black and white photos—one that serves aged steaks cooked with a famously secret char sauce that the owners say creates the perfect outer crust."

Unreal steakhouse with very good steaks and ribs and shrimp scampi, but an insanely classic room.

This is a really fun old-school dining experience in downtown Milwaukee. This institution is holding on a a somewhat rough looking neighborhood. The service at the bar is very good…although their bourbon pricing is a little suspect. The dinner service is good if a little bit dated. The steaks are of decent quality, although they can be a little thin and cooked over the desired temperature. The sides are executed well as are the appetizers. The sides are served family style. This isn’t the best steakhouse in Milwaukee, but it compares well with other supper clubs if you account for the nostalgic ambience. Desserts were good, but the serving sizes varied quite a bit person to person.

A Wisconsin supper club with an elegant flair. While the interior is old school, it's low lighting and warm, rich colors give a relaxing and cozy feel. The bartender and waiter we had were extremely knowledgeable, attentive and engaging. Orders are placed at the bar, so by the time you sit down your shareables are well on their way. Everything here is absolutely incredible and generously portioned. Be prepared to spend a little bit more than usual here, but be assured that it's worth it! If you are in the mood for a good steak or looking for a top notch steakhouse, this place is it!

This is a great steakhouse. They have been in business for over 70 years and it was one of the best steaks I have had. There are no portion sizes for the steaks on the menu, but trust me when I tell you they are HUGE! It is on the expensive side, but worth it for those special occasions.

This place is a true milwaukee gem! It was my first time here and I am highly impressed. The staff are all so attentive and friendly. I got a porterhouse and let me tell you that was the best steak I've ever had in my entire life. Not only are the steaks HUGE, but tender, flavorful and soaked in Au Ju. I loved that they had free valet parking too! I will definitely be back here because no other steak place compares.

The ribeye steak was the best I've had in a long time. The shrimp scampi, calamari and onions rings were all fantastic appetizers as well. Order the creme brulee for dessert, it does not disappoint! Highly recommend reservations.

Not being midwesterners, but staying in Milwaukee for the o summer we really wanted to go to a classic supper club and the 5 O'clock Steak house was a great pick. Easy valet parking, a nice greeting, quick seating was our start. We got the classic bread, relish tray and family salad which were all good. It was Friday, so we ordered prime rib (the smaller of the 2 cuts) and it was HUGE - and delicious. We even had dessert which also me the mark. Just so you know, it's a bit pricey, but worth it. We were Very pleased we came and highly recommend.

In 10/11/24, I went to this steakhouse with my fiancée for his birthday. It was our first time at this restaurant. We came to the host booth and this young host was dismissive toward us. The host was a young woman and the vibe that we got from her was that she did not want to be there on that night. She told me and my fiancé just to go to the bar and someone will take us to our table. The bar was packed so we were confused on what to do and where to stand. Then there was an older woman host that came up to the young woman host and said that there is a table ready so the young host took us to a table instead. When she took us to our table she stated the server will be right with us put the menus on the table. She came back with some waters for us, but we asked for some lemons for our water. She never came back with the lemons at all. After this interaction with the young host, me and my fiancé were scared that the server would have the same attitude. A server named Annie came and was very communicative to us. She had a great attitude and attended to everything we needed. It was very joyous to us. We were glad to have her as our server. The steaks were one of the best steaks we both had in our entire lives. The steaks were tender and juicy, and the food service was very efficient. I told Annie that it was my fiancé’s birthday and she came with a small slice of Keylime pie for him. I will definitely come back to the steakhouse. I do believe, though that experience would’ve been even better if I had a host that had the same energy as our server.

Whether you're from the area, or out of town, you must stop by the Five O'clock Steakhouse. Just to say that you ate a steak and you were there. Definitely one of the greatest steaks around... I had the pleasure of being served by Courtney-she was awesome. I felt relaxed, not rushed. The atmosphere is very lovely, kind of like a time warp back to the good old days. Very professional. Kudos to all the staff. How 'bout a Tomahawk...
