I'm sure there are other places to eat breakfast in the CBD, but Felix is the cream of the crop.

Brisbane: Just as cool as Syd/Mel, I promise

Had the eggs on toast with a side of bacon. Eggs and bacon were both cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was nice. It was full when I arrived. The only let down is their coffee. It would be nice tho if they offered some syrups (vanilla, caramel etc) on it.

I just had the best granola bowl ever! I travel the world and this was world class. It’s such a lovely vibe in there. Lots of different folks of all ages and backgrounds. The coffee was also excellent. I’ll be back tomorrow for my next breakfast.

Food is mediocre and very overpriced! I ordered the felix bowl which is essentially a garden salad with some grilled veggies. The sauce and the veggies all tasted bland. The tastiest thing is the vegan fried chicken I added on that cost $7 if i remember correctly. Without this addon I would've just leave the bowl... My husband ordered just an egg with some tough to chew bacon on a toasted croissant that cost even more. Considering the taste and price of the food that's worse than home cooked meal, I might as well just cook at home...

Food was great and vibrant but flavour-wise it was missing something to tie it together as a dish … maybe a sauce/dip? Cake was amazing.

Bussy Cafe. Lovely food, amazing hot chocolate. The staff is friendly and attentive. I visited on a busy Sunday morning, and while the cafe was bustling, the service was efficient, and you could feel the team's commitment to ensuring everyone had a good experience. I ordered the shakshuka, which was simply delicious. The dish was accompanied by perfectly toasted sourdough that complemented the rich, flavorful tomato sauce beautifully. The hot chocolate I had on the side was indulgent and comforting, adding the perfect touch to my meal. Overall, the experience was delightful, combining greatly. Totally recommended!

We loved Felix and came back here twice during our short trip. We had eggs on toast with extra avocado and halloumi both times and were extremely satisfied with that choice! Highly recommend!

Great coffe, perfect vegan all day brunch. Highly recommended. Good place for a little rest between shopping.

Google
Lovely service, lovely atmosphere but disappointed with my meal. I ordered the felix bowl that included a range of ingredients as well as roasted vegetables. It was presented very nicely but what was supposed to be the roasted vegetables were hardly grilled and were rock solid and raw which made for an unpleasant experience. Also they were cut very largely so it was difficult to eat as I had to spend a while cutting everything into much smaller sizes. I usually love kimchi and the other flavours in the meal, but they did not compliment each other when eaten together. Quite pricy for a bowl of uncooked vegetables.

Yelp
Very nice breakfast, the food choices are great and very healthy. I really like the ambience of the space and the staff are very lovely! I would say the only improvement here, would be to butter my toast, my pet hate is going out for breakfast and having to butter the toast, I mean how am I suppose to lift an egg and all the toppings to butter under it.

Yelp
I was traveling with my mother through Brisbane and we were staying at a hotel near Elizabeth Street. After seeing reviews of Felix for Goodness on Yelp, I knew we had to try this place out and it did not disappoint! Location: What I discovered about Brisbane is that there are a lot of hidden gems that are tucked away in alleys. If you know where BREW or 7 Eleven is located, Felix is pretty much directly across the street in the other alleyway. It's located in a white, brick building. There is a small black banner that says Food & Drink outside of their establishment. Service: The service that we received was fantastic. Right as we were walking up the stairs, we were greeted by one of the servers. She gave us some menus to look at, and told us to order at the register and the food would be brought out to us. Atmosphere: This place was so cute! Lots of exposed brick, colored windows, and charm galore. Great music selection in the background as well. I would give this place a 5/5 for the atmosphere...I would probably be a regular at this place if I lived near here. Food: I love that they use as much local and organic produce as they can. I ordered the granola, which came with yogurt and melon balls. I was eating really horribly that week, so I wanted to get something on the lighter side. It was a nice way to start the morning! Pros: -Charming atmosphere -Friendly service Cons: -To get to this place, you need to climb up some stairs, so it's not the best place for people that have a physical disability/ mobility issues -Get ready to get cozy. Tables are pretty close to one another, but there's a good reason why. This place gets packed!

Yelp
I actually really liked this place!! Came across it on yelp when looking for a place to have breakfast in the city. Its situated on Burnette lane - so away from the hustle and bustle of the city despite being only a couple minutes walk from Queen st. It's got a massive window (it was open when we were there) which made indoors feel like outdoors - fresh air - yay! :) The staff were friendly. The menu was interesting. Quite a few non-standard breakfast dishes - not very well described on the menu so you had no idea what to expect (could've asked the staff i spos but i wanted to be surprised). And it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! I got the bowl full of a lot of ingredients - sounded healthy yet tasty at the same time. And it was. The kimchi somehow blended right in! The servings aren't particularly large. Enough to fill you up but not massive so that you are absolutely stuffed by the end of it, like so many other brunch places. I also got a tumeric latte. No coffee. Like a chai latte except with tumeric. Tasted ok - quite mild. Nice cosy cafe to hang out at. Very cool place. Would def come back.

Yelp
Great little spot on Burnett lane for those who want to escape the bustle of the city and the unhealthy eating options that come with it. Felix is perched up high with a great open atmosphere, with sleek welcoming design and loads of sweet potatoes in crates against one of the walls. They do a great range of healthy lunch and breakfast options here, with a range of good coffees and cold drinks on the side. I opted for a juice and a chicken sandwich with kimchi. I made the rash mistake, as I usually do, of confusing kimchi Mayo for kewpie mayo and was a tad taken aback when my the bottom of my sandwich was completely soaked in orange goo. That being said, it was still tasty and a great change from the over the top, expensive sandwiches you get from most other CBD cafes. I'd definitely return but the place was a little steep with regards to price.

Yelp
Felix is one of Brisbane's hidden treasures. And I literally mean hidden. Tucked away off Burnett Lane in the CBD, it's easy to miss unless you're looking hard for an open black door with signage or happen to glance upwards to see cafe dwellers looking out of the window-paned wall. Head up the stairs to find an open warm timber-filled room, beautifully decked out with natural looking homewares and furniture. Felix has recently had a facelift and expanded so what was once a tiny sunken spot now has plenty of seating but beware, they get busy. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner with a regularly changing menu using seasonal produce and with as much as possible made in-house including their condiments and baked goods. The day menu is split up into sections of breakfast-only, all-day breakfast and lunch. The usual breakfast basics are there but amped up with speciality extras - for example the avocado on sourdough ($10) comes with ras el hanout labneh and saurkraut. Coffee is a house blend by Single Guys and made with Maleny Dairies milk. Apart from coffee and tea, there is a range of healthy smoothies like raw chocolate shake with banana ($8) which you can add a shot of espresso to for 50c. From the current menu I tried the baked beans with pesto toast ($12) and substituted the sourdough for gluten-free pumpkin bread ($1.50). The beans had an al dente texture that indicated they were homemade and cooked from dry beans and although weren't overly flavourful by themselves, with the thickly spread pesto on the toast they were absolutely delicious and a substantial start to the day. My friends ordered Poached Eggs on sourdough with relish ($12) and couldn't resist adding the house smoked local fish ($5), which was mackerel on the day, and the Breakfast Bowl of fresh and poached fruit with house made chia coconut yoghurt and seed granola ($14.50). The eggs were perfectly poached and the fish was mildly smoky and although a touch dry, a winner. The Breakfast Bowl had a beautiful range of seasonal fruit including starfruit and went down a treat. I've visited Felix many times and have always left very satisfied and happy. After always being tempted by the array of freshly baked goods on the counter, I finally got around to ordering one of their kale, feta and spelt scones ($4.50) recently and have become obsessed with them. Served warm, they are the perfect scone specimen with crunchy outside and warm, flaky inside, plus they are huge. Spread on the kefir (fermented) butter for absolute happiness. Last time I opted to get some extra pesto ($1.50) and highly recommend that too. Seriously, kale has never tasted this good. For lunch my go-to is one of their daily-changing salad bowls, which are always delicious. They have recently started doing dinner and while I haven't tried it yet, I've seen sneak peeks on their Instagram account and I'm super keen to try. With consistently delicious quality food and coffee, a gorgeous interior and reasonable prices, Felix is always a winner in my books.

Yelp
This place could have had 5 stars if it wasn't for the service. We were invited to sit down so we did, taking a seat at a table that needed clearing from the previous occupants. You place and pay for your order at the counter, then they bring it out to you. I had to ask for the table to be cleared, despite sitting there for well over 15 minutes, and then again once it became clear she was not going to come back and wipe it down, I had to ask again. Food wise- absolutely delicious. I had the veggie frittata and salad which was huge and really fresh while my mum had a breakfast menu items that looked equally delicious. A shame their service was hit and miss, it wasn't even a busy time (1.30-2.30pm on a weekday) as it has potential with the cute space and delicious fresh food.

Yelp
It seems unfair to review a place after only one day of trade especially when they're still getting their menu together and waiting on a liquor license. But so proud of small businesses like Felix taking a chance to bring a little bit more lane way love to Brisbane, that I have to tell you dear Yelpers about it. Burnett Lane is already home to Super Whatnot and Suvery Co, and Felix fits nicely in between the two. It's open and airy and the trucks driving up the lane way as I sip my iced latte (it is still a service lane way for the stores on the Queen St Mall) it doesn't take away from the atmosphere of the cafe. In fact, I think over time it will just become a part of the fabric of the place. Felix is pouring Cup coffee and I'm told the eventual aim will be to have a menu focused on whole foods. Think chia puddings and the like. They'll also be serving Goat Pie Guy pies. Did I just find my perfect winter office? I think so. Being so hot yesterday I could only summon the energy to order an iced latte - it was fairly stock standard. Don't let that turn you off it just means they're consistent with the Cup blend and frankly, it says more about my current relationship woes with coffee than anything else. I popped in on my way to the Wednesday markets and had a lovely chat to the owner. It's just that kind of place. Seated in the sunken dining area there's ample room to enjoy yourself - work on your laptop or just watch the world go by in the lane way below. The curiosity on other patrons faces as they discovered what was within after a short walk up the entrance stairs was grand to watch. I'm looking forward to seeing what Felix grows up to be!

Yelp
I popped in here for a wine with a friend and automatically felt at home. The rustic feel of the venue was inviting and I settled in. We found this place by accident and, for a first date, it was a good spot. The venue is split int three spaces, the bar, the restaurant looking space and the sunken area. We took a seat at the window bar in the sunken space and looked over the laneway as we chatted. I really enjoyed my wine. I ordered a glass of rose, the only one by the glass on the menu, and was surprised by how much I enjoyed the butteriness that complimented the overarching dry tones. My date ordered a Young Henry's (NSW) cider, which is always a good choice. The waitress managed the space well. The only one on, she went from table to table, dotted across the venue and was pleasant, calm and pretty knowledgeable about the wine list. In the centre of the sunken area was a large table which I am sure would work perfectly for a big shared dinner. I will assemble a crew and return for sure!

Yelp
Felix is a special little place. They have a cute little location, amazing decor, a great vibe, and friendly staff. What really makes Felix special though, is their food. Freshly prepared, with the heaviest emphasis on dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan friendly food I've seen in the Brisbane CBD. I myself don't fall into any of the above categories, but I'm constantly amazed by how effortlessly they make delicious eats out of all the healthy things. Think cashew nut based raw cheesecakes, chia pots, chocolate beetroot cakes, fresh ricotta tarts (baked daily) and the bestest, freshest salads in the city. Never heard of a dairy-free affogato? Neither had I! Cashew nut ice cream?!?! You better believe it. Needless to say, Felix is pumping. They have limited seating, so if you want in, be prepared to rub shoulders around peak hours. Take away orders are more than welcome, which is usually how I roll (half-hour lunch breaks suck.) The other neat thing about Felix is their cooking classes. Love that crazy vegan cake they sell? You can book in for a night class and learn to make it yourself! They promote their classes via their Instagram page if you want more info.

Yelp
I am having a not so sure what to think moment about this place... It is my second time at Felix. The first time I came for an early morning coffee then I couldn't even get into the sitting area it was that busy... Totally opposite today where there are only 4 other people here. Maybe being Friday morning and there is rain everyone is sleeping in. I ordered a flat white. It was nice not great tiny bit bitter for my taste. Also the cup was pretty small. They had an assortment of freshly made items on the counter as you enter which looked deliciously my only negative to it would be there was no prices so I had to ask.. Just a small price at back of each would have been nice. Also for me a morning coffee means a coffee with the paper and unfortunately there was no daily papers to read. Overall this place is distinct from others in relation to location and decor but just a few minor points which rate it as an average experience for me. I will try again maybe in a few months.

Yelp
Tucked away in Burnett Lane is Felix...arguably one of the city's best kept secrets. They say Felix is for goodness and goodness gracious they could not hit the mark any closer. The recently refurbished space has been designed by one of the owners (who is also an architect...dreamy, right?!). Although it has lost some of its cosy charm, it has created an infinitely more practical space to feed the many hungry mouths who love this place. Breakfast options include all the standards plus a few neat little tricks. Aka come at me pork belly with perfect poached eggs on house made sourdough. Lunch features daily salads and baguettes alongside perennial favourites including burgers. What has got me really excited is the dinner. I have not experienced yet but will be doing so soon! Oh, and I usually take away a house baked cinnamon scroll because I am a glutton for baked things! This one rivals Sprout in deliciousness.

Yelp
What a find! Felix has to be the one place where co-workers go to 'get away' from the normal cafes and coffee shops near the office only to find that EVERYONE else had the same idea! Hidden on Burnett Lane next to Brisbane CBD staples Super Whatnot and German Sausage Hut, Felix is a cozy Melbourne-style cafe. The first thing that you'll notice is the exposed brick on one wall and then immediately the beautiful cloud mural on the other. The seating area consists of a smattering of small 2-person tables surrounding one communal square area in the middle. During the day (when not raining), the windows are completely open to the alley which is nice during most of the Brisbane year but makes for a sweltering experience in the middle of summer. The coffee is very tasty and the food both looks and tastes very nice. I typically get the egg tart which at $4 might seem a bit excessive considering it's only marginally larger than a 50c piece. However, I've never regretted getting it a single time and am always a bit disappointed when they're sold out. As I mentioned before, the cafe is usually filled with nearby office workers and you can expect that there may be a couple notebooks or laptops on the communal table. However, the noise level is still pretty quiet and people are respectful even considering the tight walking spaces and close proximity to one another throughout the cafe. Felix has become the standard haunt for when my co-workers and me want to pop out for a quick catch up over coffee. Now instead of asking around for 'coffee,' it's 'Felix? Yeah? All right let's go!'

Yelp
Amazing food healthy and tasty and nutritious . Lovely warm staff and nice that's it's off the beaten path down an alley way . Def recommend for an authentic local brunch experience

Yelp
This place is a gem. Friendly and unpretentious service in comfortable surrounds. We were here at 10am on a Thursday and easily got a table near the open window over looking the laneway. Ordering at the counter was efficient and our drinks arrived in about 5 mins and food 10 after that. Food is outstanding. Polenta fingers scream healthy while the Bircher is like summer in a bowl. The best breakfast we've had in Brisbane on this trip. Get here ASAP.

Laura A.

Yelp
I can't go too in-depth with my rating as I only grabbed a quick iced coffee to take away, but what I can say is this: Coffee was delicious, reasonably priced. Friendly staff, very polite even when i rushed in looking decidedly unglamorous on a 30-something degree day with five shopping bags. Beautiful decor. Will have to make it back one day when I've got time for a leisurely lunch!

Dan S.

Yelp
Disappointed by the service. $14 for a basic spirit with a mixer, no thank you. Was not informed that ordering tonic with our gin with incur a '$4 mixer surcharge', and staff offered no apology. They instead suggested that most people order 'gin on ice'. (okay). Will not be visiting again when other bars ~so generously~ include tonic with their gin. I believe it is deceptive conduct and misleading to customers not to be informed of the mixer cost, which was nowhere to be seen on the menu. Any reasonable person would assume the listed cost of a gin would include tonic.

Yelp
My fiancée and I walked past one Friday while on holidays and decided to have a light dinner here. I really enjoyed the Australian brie and sourdough, and my fiancée loved his Japanese pancake. Our drinks were also great (I can't remember exactly what we had but they were not your standard fare). One of my favorite restaurants in Brisbane and the whole meal only cost $50; would definitely go back.

Yelp
Cool little hidden spot. Beautiful decoration, lovely staff, great food with lots if vegan options. Loved it.

Yelp
This place has sooo much potential but I feel that they haven't yet got it quite right. The location is superb and like the recently opened John Mills Himself is very Melbourne like. Love the old exposed brickwork and the idea of the sunken dining area - although with only one set of stairs and a large communal table it can get a little cramped. The layout also makes it hard for table service and on more than one occasion I saw staff clambering up and down the bench seat and avoiding the stairs - not a good look! I popped in for lunch and it was busy without being chockers. I ordered the Pumpkin, caramelised onion and ricotta tart for $7 (see photo) and a flat white $3.50 to dine in. The tart was reheated and a little slow getting to me and cutlery was short on supply. The tart was delicious but was a little lonely on the plate and I thought a handful if rocket or a small side salad would have made all the difference and filled me up just a little more. As for the flat white - well it never made it to my table, I had to ask for it 'to go' on the way out as the barista had forgotten me. Unfortunately this only led to further disappointment when I was handed a miserly 6oz takeaway cup - seriously who serves 6oz??? 8 oz is the standard small, regular (whatever you want to name it) across Brisbane. On the plus side the coffee was nice and strong and full of flavour. Haven't yet decided if I'll give them a second chance.

Fi B.

Yelp
I really like the place and the "local" ethos and was delighted to see green smoothies on the menu and a berry chia cup for brekkie, both were lovely but I wont be ordering again, $8.00 for a SMALL green smoothie is just way too much, as was the Chia cup, if they up the sizing or reduce the price I would go again.

Yelp
We found this place one night when were searching for a wine bar. Enjoyed some very good wine and liked it so much that we came back the next day for breakfast. The breakfast menu is simple and understated. Our party enjoyed an omelette, avocado on toast with labna and a seasonal breaky bowl. Simple and effective - the way a breakfast menu should be! Try this place and you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
A hidden gem in a delivery goods lane ! Creative menu, great vibe and wonderful service.
