"Farmshop is an American all-day spot inside the Brentwood Country Mart where you might see Gwyneth and her stylist discussing Oscar outfits in one corner and Adam Sandler wearing basketball shorts to a family brunch in another. The “you never know who you’ll see” aspect is part of Farmshop’s appeal, as is the brunch menu that reads like something found at a bed and breakfast in Carmel. And while all of the above might lead you to believe that the food here is an afterthought, that’s not the case. The poached chicken salad is delicious and on every table. "Your little sister’s soccer team is in the championship game, and the whole family will either need to celebrate or console Jenny afterwards. Farmshop takes reservations and has lots of room, so you won’t be bothering anyone when you loudly complain about the unfair call the refs made right before the final whistle. Meanwhile, your dad can get the poached chicken salad because it’s Keto-friendly, and you can also get it because it’s delicious. And while you finish your bottle of Riesling and some pastries, you can all watch Ashton Kutcher pay his kid $20 to behave." - brett keating
"Farmshop, the all-purpose market at the Brentwood Country Mart, has a whole bunch of fresh-baked breads that perfect for work-from-home lunches (like their sourdough pan loaf), fancy French dinners (their crusty and excellent baguettes), and midday chocolate needs (pain au chocolat). It’s all made in-house and they also sell frozen butter croissants by the eight-pack, which you should also get involved in. Order online, or pick-up in store." - brett keating
"Not a whole lot happens in Brentwood, but given the high ratio of studio executives/movie stars to normal people that live here, power breakfasts are to be expected. And the best spot for them is Farmshop in the Brentwood Country Mart. Breakfast starts early at 7:30am (but you should probably get to your Tracy Anderson class beforehand) and sticks to upscale classics.
