Explorers River Camp

We stayed at Jinja Explorers River Camp for one night with our rooftop tent and had a great experience. The campsite offers everything a traveler could wish for, including clean toilets and hot showers. The presence of a restaurant and bar adds to the convenience, and it’s also a fantastic starting point for numerous activities on the Nile, which can be easily booked on-site. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the breathtaking view of the Nile—a picturesque setting that made our visit truly special. For campers, a small word of caution: avoid pitching your tent directly under the palm trees. In the middle of the night, a large branch fell near us, missing by only a few inches—an experience we won’t soon forget! Overall, the place is a beautiful and well-maintained spot for camping and exploring the Nile. Highly recommended for both the views and the amenities!

We stayed here for two nights while we do the white water rafting ( we booked it with them too, NILE RIVER EXPLORERS- which was amazing but that’s for a different review 😁) We stayed at a tent overlooking the Nile which was really nice! The walk to the shower/toilet was really short so this was not an issue. The staff were very friendly and helpful! The food was really good! The view from the restaurant was amazing! The place was quiet as well so it was really tranquil watching the sunset. There is a lot wildlife around which was amazing. We definitely recommend this place!

I have been to the camp twice, and will definitely return! We went kayaking and did the river cruise the first time and this past weekend did whitewater rafting - they are very organized and prepared safety-wise. I stayed at the camp and did spa services. The massage from Esther was very good as was the pedicure. I recommend this place very highly! The staff are all very helpful and friendly.

Stunning views, situated on the side of the Nile. Lived in a tent with double bed, no mosquito net inside but plenty of them on the tent. |Friendly people and staff. Lots of activities to do. Most powerful showers we’ve had in Uganda. Clean and organized place. Can definitely recommend the tour with the local boat, for sunset and birdwatching.

Reasonably priced glamping over the Nile. Basic but decent food options. Good views. Backpacker vibe.

A fantastic place to stay. Accommodation (safaritent) very nice with view on the Nile from the bed. Very nice to have a drink and chill. Good breakfast. Good priced! We saw the dormitory accommodation and that looks very good for a super reasonable price. Overall.... we hope to come back for a bit longer some time.

There were lots of good things about my stay at Nile Explorers River Camp. The terrace and bar area is comfortable and spacious with great views of the Nile. The staff were very friendly and breakfast, massage and laundry services were good. My double room came with nice bedding, towels and hot water. But the room also needs attention - the sink drains onto the floor and the loo seat is not fitted. I was unlucky to be in the room next to the SUP centre and close to the entrance to the road, both of which made a lot of noise, early morning and late at night.

Basic rooms (who needs more really), but super friendly staff and a beautiful setting. Monkeys overhead were nice to watch, but noisy on the roof at night/early morning! Excellent food and well priced. The reason for staying was the rafting, which was a simply amazing and exciting experience. Will be back next year with another school group! Thanks to all involved for a superb experience.
