"Empire Espresso, Little Italy by Sid Lee. Empire Espresso is a new to the neighbourhood and offers up a very different experience - and coffee - than the other cafes on the street. Aesthetically inspired by Morocco and their ingrained coffee and tea culture, it feels like an oasis when you walk in. Plush cushions and furry and fluffy blankets adorn the seating area in the front, and ornate lanterns light the space. Their baked treats - all done in-house from scratch - line the counter; it’s hard to resist their spell so don’t even bother testing your willpower, just give in. All coffees and teas are specialty, and the barista will gladly give you a rundown of whatever the feature bean is that particular day or week. Must eats: all the treats, Americano, Cortado, Perfect Storm, Honey Bush tea."
Some of the best home made goodies served by wonderful staff and accompanied by superb coffee

I like their bohemian interior, but prices are a little high. It's very hot in here in the summertime.

Empire has been my go to spot for my weekend caffeine hit. It is a community gathering spot with lots of regulars. The original owner, Sarah, did a great job of remembering customers, falling in love with their dogs and creating a welcoming environment for everyone. She recently sold the business and the new owners have done a great job of keeping the quality of the coffee and food. Even with face masks on and without the ability to create a hangout space inside, they are doing a great job of continuing the community and welcoming atmosphere that Sarah created.

Love this place. I've been going here more often to bring subjects before I shoot. Super friendly people and cutely decorated. A little pricey for students but worth it and their scones are dope. Definitely gonna bring more people here.

Been visiting Toronto for the last few years. Every time we have been to this cafe the staff have been excellent. The owner is very committed and the espresso is just the best.
Fresh baked goods are a must.
Bring a plastic animal for the collection.

Quaint comfy coffee space with a queer positive vibe. It’s a great spot for having a cup of java while overlooking college street. The staff there are always friendly and play great music (Princess Nokia is in the ranks) 💜 It is also a queer friendly safe space and have a variety of pastries and pints of my favourite handcrafted local ice cream.

Though the scone was tastless and dry, the service was unfortunate in our current state of world affairs. A barista that doesn't say "we don't take any American cards" (credit or debit cards) would have earned a higher rating. American coffee was fine but we still have a bad taste - we can do better.

cute & comfy little space, lovely staff, and excellent in-house baked goods. the powerballs are everyone's fav, but I'm partial to their lemon berry scones and coconut espresso blondies.
