This place is a must visit when in Beirut. Great place for authentic Lebanese plates. I’ve been a couple of times for breakfast and I was impressed, highly recommended.

Authentic restaurant in the narrow streets of Beirut. The owner is passionate and still cooks the food himself. The staff are welcoming. Tried their foul with vegetables which was good.

Amazing Beid be Awarma but the rest was pretty average. Possibly overhyped but still worth the visit

Don’t go and expect a fine dining experience. Small old almost ancient shop. The same old man still makes the food himself. He is full of positivity and very welcoming. The fatteh is absolutely amazing! We ordered fatteh, beid bi awarma, hummus, fried asbeh (liver) and foul. Everything was phenomenal except for the foul, it was average.

This is another famous restaurant in Beirut which has been recommended by CNN and also visited by many celebrities. It is a no frills dining place you don't expect this place to be high end with a proper menu. Recommended to go with someone local who can help you to order the special dishes to try. Got the honour of seeing the old owner himself preparing and cooking my dishes. He is a quiet man of few words yet can see how nimble his hands are and how fast he can whip up dishes. Be in surprise for what you eat cause there might be some 'fear factor' for people who are not used to eating slightly exotic stuff. It was definitely an experience for me eating sheep's brains which I loved it a lot, and also the liver. I don't really eat a lot of liver elsewhere but here it is so well cooked and the sauce packs so much flavour to the meat. If you want to go with the safer options try the hummus, fatteh, eggs with meat or salads. Highly recommended and best to visit on weekdays morning.

Elsoussi is a must-visit spot in Beirut, particularly if you're seeking an authentic Lebanese breakfast experience. While it may not boast fancy embellishments in terms of service or location, the focus here is solely on delivering the best traditional Lebanese breakfast. I highly recommend trying the fattie!

I think that was the most delicious breakfast I’ve ever eaten in Lebanon. Hummus, scrumbled egg with meat, salad, side dishes.. Everything was truthfully perfect. If you have an opportunity to visit Beirut, you have to eat here.

Overrated and Disappointing Experience I honestly don't understand the hype around this place. The food was extremely average , nothing stood out in terms of flavor or presentation. I tried the fatteh, foul and the bed awarma; the fatteh was very basic, bland even, and the bed awarma was far too salty to enjoy. To make matters worse, the hygiene situation is unacceptable. The toilets are clearly outdated and not well-maintained, and I was shocked to find that the water used for hand washing was sea water. That’s just not okay for any establishment claiming to offer quality meals. Overall, it felt like I paid for the reputation, not the experience. I won’t be coming back, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. There are far better options with better food, cleaner facilities, and actual attention to detail.
