Generous portions, excellent food and service! Visiting from out of town with family, my nephew found this spot on a Google search, I really wasn't feeling it until we got there! From the moment we walked in we were welcomed, quickly seated, and we had so much to choose from it was difficult to decide! Two of us split a prime rib meal and then also split another crepe meal. The waiter was so kind as to actually have the prime rib meal divided onto two plates! I feel that they went above and beyond to accommodate us and make us feel welcome! The prime rib was yummy! Everything we ordered from potato cakes, to a cob salad, to the crepes and mashed potatoes, etc were all amazing! Definitely recommend coming in regardless of what you're looking for, breakfast, lunch, dinner! Of no, the seating was comfortable and not beat up, everything was clean including the bathrooms! Parking was easy and generous!

Wow! A Gem in the desert! Dropped into Palm Springs for a couple days to check out Joshua Tree National Park and found a gem. Now breakfast, you must really try to mess that meal up, but sometimes you find places above the rest. Not only did they serve the standard, their kitchen got creative too. From cinnamon roll pancakes, to German pancakes with Lingoneberry butter to Avocado Eggs Benedict. Offering fruit, over hash browns, kept it healthier. They were certainly not shy on the portion so bring your hunger. Service was amazing and attentive. About 16$ per person, without tip. A real gem in the desert! Enjoy!

Our server Gabriel was excellent and made for a very pleasant experience. The food was average and we will most likely not return as it’s a glorified Denny’s. I had a veggie omelet and my husband had the crab blt salad. Overall, meh.

We enjoyed their country fried steak, waffle, and mimosa (peach). Service was fast and friendly! Definitely will be coming back our next trip to Palm Springs!

Funky old coffee shop that probably should have gone out of business years ago. The breakfast food was tolerable with large servings but definitely nothing great. The wait was completely unacceptable. And the staff stood around in total dysfunction (pictured). Our server was good. The tables outside were not used, but the staff would not let people wait there. So we had to stand the whole time which was nearly an hour. I would never go back there again.

Good was great and fast service. It's more of a family friendly vibe than trendy. Great place for brunch and planning your weekend at the table with your friends. I prefer having booth seating for planning rather than being super close to people. This place is perfect for that.

We visited Elmer's for breakfast, one of the first places in Palm Springs to open. We enjoyed our food so much. The service was quick and friendly! We'll definitely be back on here.

Yelp steered me in the right direction once again. We were in the moody for good diner food. And, we discovered delicious food and wonderful service at Elmer's. We arrived early on Saturday morning and only had to wait a few minutes for a table. We ordered the German Pancake combo (with ham) and stuffed hash browns. The portions are generous here. When we left, the wait time appeared much longer.

It's a long drive out to Palm Springs. It is best to have a plan. We had no plan. We piled the dogs in the car and drove and drove and drove. After looking around and visiting the Dog Park, we realized that we were hungry. But we had the dogs with us. I dropped a quarter into the Yelp slot machine and it suggested Elmer's. My best half went inside to find out if the dogs were allowed. They had a sign stating: "DOGS WELCOME. PEOPLE TOLERATED." Our kind of place. We both felt like having burgers-meat based for her and veggie style for me. The sandwiches came out and they were really well prepared. A full meal on a bun. The onion rings were crunchy and delicious. The staff were very friendly. This meal at Elmer's couldn't have turned out better if we had planned it. Which we didn't.

Breakfast of champions literally starts at Elmer's. This restaurant was located just down the street from our hotel, and we enjoyed it very much. Huge portions that my husband and I couldn't even finish. Everything was good and hearty. But that German pancake is awesome! It reminded me of an open face crepe/pancake. If you've been to House of Prime Rib the consistency also reminded me of Yorkshire pudding. This pancake can easily be shared with 3-4 people if you each got your own entree. I didn't enjoy the potato pancakes that much. Too cheesy, and too much starch based on my taste buds. They had a side of apple sauce that comes with it, so it helped break down the heaviness. Our eyes got too greedy and ordered too much food. If you have a large appetite go to Elmer's!

This place lived up to the hype( mostly). We ordered a chicken fried steak breakfast and potato cakes. The chicken fried steak was good and it was not heavy and greasy. The biscuit that came with the meal was AMAZING and so fresh. I don't eat this type of "diner" food often, but when I do I try and make it worth it. I didn't feel heavy and tired after eating here! The portions are just right to share or eat alone. My husband and I each tried each others food and he agreed mine was better. I got a peach mimosa that tasted like juice. The service was good and they even let us switch tables because we wanted more privacy in a booth, oppose to the close tables.

This place seems to be especially popular for breakfast, but I decided to have dinner here on my recent visit to Palm Springs. The place was basically dead at dinner time. I ordered the fish and chips, which goes for $17.99. This comes with three pieces of deep fried cod, as well as french fries and cole slaw. I thought it was pretty good. I found the service here to also be friendly and quite attentive.

There is always a line at Elmer's, and it's worth the wait. We can't visit Palm Springs without doing brunch at Elmer's. It's always our last stop before we go to the airport. The food is good, the staff are friendly, and the prices are great.

Came here for brunch in between my son's basketball games. Everything about our visit was 5 stars. The German pancake, the biscuit, the potato pancakes were memorably delicious. Service was very good, extremely attentive, thoughtful and helpful. The restaurant was very clean and had lots of seating.

FOOD: During our recent trip to Palm Springs, we had planned to try a different breakfast spot, but unfortunately, it was closed for a couple of days. We decided to give Elmer's a try instead. We ordered the famous German pancake, a popular item on their menu. While decent, it didn't quite meet the hype for me. It was airy on the edge; I was not too fond of much of the texture. Additionally, one of the German pancakes came out burned at the edge, which was quite disappointing. We also ordered the Hungry Ranch Breakfast, which consisted of bread, eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, and fruits; the taste was pretty standard and tasted much like what you find in any breakfast spot. SERVICE: The server was attentive and checked on us after bringing the food, which we appreciated. AMBIANCE: We opted to sit on the side patios because we have our dogs with us. There is also an average-sized patio at the front. The patio would have been nice, but since we visited in the summer, it was too hot to enjoy it fully but hurray for being dog-friendly!

Heard this was a spot to try and I'm glad we did. Came in on a Thursday morning around 10am and was seated right away. Our waitress Sherri was awesome. I ordered the German pancake, sausage patties with scrambled eggs. If you come here, the German pancake is a must. Spread the butter, squeeze the lemon over it and it was delicious, Thanks to Sherri! She wasn't lying when she said you don't need any syrup with it. If ever in Palm Springs, we'll be back again.

Everything is good... what else am I going to say!! The waiters are very attentive and friendly. There's a long line but don't get disappointed cuz they're fast. The staff hustle and bustle to be able to get the line going! I've been observing, there's teamwork! I was informed by the concierge that this family restaurant has been here since 1960's, wow!!!!! The place is clean and family oriented! We will surely come back!

It's my 2nd time here. I wanted to see if my opinion of this breakfast location has gotten better or worse. And it was the same! Well, let's begin with where we were seated. We were seated next to the server's entry / exit from kitchen area. As soon as the two of us guys sat down, we realized that the seat we were seated in was extremely small and tight. As I looked around I couldn't help but wonder why weren't seated somewhere more accommodating for our size (we are average 140 to 190 lbs guys). Several other seats were available, why next to the servers entry / exit way. The noise was ridiculous between the loud employee talking, laughing and standing around to plates and silverware being dumped in something, which was causing loud crashing sounds. It was just toooo much so we asked to move. The employee didn't seem happy, appearing upset as to infer "How dare you?" Anyhow, the food was very good, and the presentation was very nice. Although our Server (I can't remember his nick name on his name tag), on the receipt it says "Ezequiel" was anything but courteous, or welcoming. He was very to the point, without saying probably no more than three words.... "Are you ready?" I even said "Thank You" for his service, as he ignored it and walked away. If you're going for the food and don't mind the employee attitudes and lack of professionalism, this is a great place to eat. Forgot to mention we also saw employees at the front just hanging out talking and even exchanging $$$ with each other. And a woman dressed as possibly their manager hanging out in a spot chatting with two other employees. Laughing and giggling.

Good breakfast. Got the Dutch baby and my friend told me the ones I make are better and she was right. It was still good and a fun experience if u have never had one before. Huge restaurant I'd definitely go back and try something else.

Perfect place to get your morning FIX . This place is perfect for someone that is really hungry . The food was amazing and tasted soo delicious and the portions are huge . The service was really good and my waiter was always checking on us every 5 mins . The place was jamb packed but there was no wait and we got a table as soon as we got there.

Elmer's is great! Even though they were crowded they were able to seat us very quickly. The ambiance was lively as the restaurant was busy and the staff were friendly. I had country fried steak and eggs and it was delicious. Their biscuits are awesome. . Flaky and salty with a nice amount of fat. This is certainly a cheat meal for me and it was well worth it. I will be back!

Hands down one of the BEST breakfast joints I've ever had the pleasure of trying! The wait says it all and at first looks long and intimidating, but it's not! We came on Memorial Day and waited no more than 15 minutes. The staff was super welcoming and attentive. We were seated and served in no time. The German pancakes, aka Dutch baby, was delicious and unique to me! I love the amount of fruit included and shareable size. I ordered the veggies bowl and was extremely pleased with the quality and quantity. I highly recommend if you're in town and looking for some good food and vibes. This is our new spot in Palm Springs now. :D

Food- We ordered the valley of the sun, and the strawberry pancakes. Both were delicious, and tasted like home. Service- Donaldo, our server was very kind, quick and efficient. We got ordered in, and our food came out 10-15minutes. He was very attentive to our breakfast service. We need more people like him! Thank you for a wonderful morning! Ambiance- This place definitely gets loud and busy! There is seating outside, and inside whichever you prefer! We arrived around 9:30am. We waited about 5-10 minutes to be seated for a party of two. All the hardworking kitchen staff, bussers, hostesses, and servers deserve their flowers. I would definitely come back again another meal.

Excellent! Delicious food, fast service and our server was awesome! Clean place, we were leaving Palm Springs and found this hidden gem on our way and we were so glad we gave it a try. Highly recommended and will definitely be back!

Not sure how I missed writing a review for this place -- we've been coming for years! If you come on a weekend, the wait can build quickly. Today we went on a weekday at 9a and we were seated right away (phew!), though it was still full of patrons. The menu is very large and there is something for everyone. I didn't see the kid's menu on Yelp, so I've posted it for others. I always order the German pancake -- it's so good with butter, lemon, and powered sugar. My wife had a veggie omelette and it was soooo good! I'm pretty sure it had hollandaise sauce in it. My kids each had the kids chocolate chip pancakes and the serving was so large that my 13 year old could finish it but not my 11 year old! Service is always top notch and the restaurant has a classic interior with local photographs adorning the walls. They expanded the outdoor seating since our last visit, which is nice. Also, they installed glass dividers between booths during Covid and I wish they'd take them down -- they don't protect anyone from anything and are an eyesore from a time we'd all like to forget! If you've read this far, stop reading and get yourselves to Elmer's!

This clearly vintage diner in Palm Springs is wonderful. Was packed on a Sat afternoon but our group of 4 was seated relatively quickly. The place has a lot of seating. The menu is very breakfast focused with some lunch options such as sandwiches. You will have trouble deciding so it is nice to go with a group for sampling. They have many very special items such as lingonberry crepes, an absolutely huge German pancake, and savory potato pancakes. We sampled from each other's plates. Portions were very generous. There did not seem to be anything on the menu that would disappoint. Highly recommend. Prices I thought were reasonable for portion sizes and quality received. Don't hesitate.

Great breakfast spot. They have Dutch baby here! Great variety of food for the kids too. The lunch and dinner options aren't as intriguing as breakfast. But you can have breakfast for dinner since it's served all day!

In from Las Vegas for the weekend and an Uber driver recommended this place. So glad he did. The potato cakes were so delicious and hearty. The biscuits were flaky and buttery. All the the food was on point. The German pancake was damned delicious as well. It's light and eggy...like a cross between and crepe and Yorkshire pudding, not overly sweet or dense. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone near by.

When headed to Palm Springs this is our spot. I ordered the Dutch pancake and it is always on point. Our waiter Alex was funny and pleasant to serve us! We had a large party and French toast, pancakes, and salad. Nobody was disappointed. Fast service with a smile!!!

Really great breakfast. Went with a group of friends and were seated in a reasonable amount of time even though they were busy. Large place, so plenty of seating, and in walking distance from the Caliente Tropics hotel we were staying at. I had the Dungeness crab benedict and it was delicious. My friends all loved the German pancakes, which admittedly did look wonderful. Would definitely go back if I were in the area.

We came on a Tuesday morning to a pretty packed house but got sat instantly. We got the French toast and country fried steak. Pros - I don't have much to say. Everything was pretty good. Kind of like Denny's or something. It's good. It is anything special? No. Portions were pretty decent size. Cons - none Overall - 7/10

Cute little spot we stopped by before leaving Palm Springs! The line out the door on a Sunday morning can attest to the quality of food from this local diner. They were busy, but our server was great in assuring we were taken care of. You can definitely feel the family vibe. We got: - German Pancake (5/5): We heard this was a MUST and it did not disappoint! We got it plain because we're not big fans of super sweet, and it was absolutely perfect and shareable. - Denver Omelette (4/5): Just what you expect from an omelette, filling and satisfying but nothing special. - Country Fried Steak (4/5): A little dry, but still good flavor. Overall, if we're in the area we're definitely stopping by.

Lines are always long here, but the weight is not too bad as a staff really does hustle. Loved the German pancake combo and we split it every morning that we were in Palm Desert.

I love this place, they have a wide selections of food from breakfast to dinner. Breakfast is available all day!!! The portions are big and the quality is good! Love the german pancakes!!! I would go there just for that! Service was also excellent! They are pet friendly with a designated area for customers with pets! Ambiance was chill and very relaxing!

Came here for brunch with some friends. We were quoted a 20min waited less than 10min which was great. There is plenty of seating and the restaurant has a casual ambiance to it. Staff were all friendly and the service was great. We ordered a variety of different items that included the lemon (original) German pancake. Definitely something to order if you enjoy sweets in the morning. We shared this item to try. Parking was also pretty easy which they have their own parking lot. Downside, it did get a little warm in the restaurant but it was bearable. I would come back and try the other German pancakes.

Went to Palm Beach on vacation June 2024 for the 1st time and came across some really great establishments like this one. This spot was recommended to us by our hotel when we checked in and definitely glad we went! Even on a Tuesday early afternoon this place was BUSY! So we were excited, hoping the food was good and it was! When we walked in we were greeted right away by the host. She stepped away to see if anything was available around the corner (it's a pretty large space) and when she did a lady, not in inform walked up and said hello and asked how we were. We were a bit taken back because we thought she was a customer but plot twist she was actually the owner of the restaurant! She was really friendly and great she walked us to our table and told us the history behind her restaurant. It's named after her late husband. He battled cancer over 10yrs on and off and had passed away a few yrs ago. They have special menus items on their menu that if you purchase that meal a portion of that goes towards a donation to fight cancer at their local hospital. (such a heartwarming story and beautiful way to honor her husband. 4/5 stars - Country fried steak bowl - hashbrowns, country fried steak gravy, scrambled eggs w/ green onions and biscuit on the side. 4/5 stars - pancakes, link sausage and scrambled eggs

I'm blown away... if NYC diners used fresh produce - it would become Elmers. The breakfast i had here was out of this world - the german potato cake is completely new to me and is now my favorite type of potato's style. Mixed with shredded onion and cheddar, it was uncontrollably delicious. The bacon was huge and perfectly crisp - i loved the extra touch of apple sauce to offset the salty food. It was super fresh with some chunks of apple. The french toast was incredible to top it all off, I would genuinely fly to PSP just to eat here once more! The staff were beyond sweet and constantly attentive. If you have time, come here to eat. You'll be waiting approximately 35 minutes to be seated. ADDICTED! 10/10!

I've been to Elmer's before, but it was a late night drunken escapade, so I didn't review. Glad they are open late though! Went for breakfast with my kid. He got eggs bacon and pancakes, but was being fussy about it. I had eggs bacon and sausage gravy biscuit with fruit. Mine was good. The waitress was friendly and attentive. No wait early in the morning but it was getting crowded by the time we left, even on a weekday. Glad they're open early!

Listen, i came here once already and forgot to leave my review so I'll do it now that I'm back a year later. Get the german pancake and stay away from the crab beny, very little crab for the big price. The pancake is amazing and set at a good price. If coming in the summer and you ask for outside seating because you don't want to wait 1 hr to get inside table, make sure it's the side with the misters and they are on. We got told they was and then they wasn't and melted while waiting lol. Besides that, it's an ok spot.

I had to French toast with two eggs bacon and delicious potatoes, it seems like every time I go to breakfast places I might get the same thing but it sure doesn't taste the same, this food is darn right good. They do everything right. Coffee is better than your average. we got seated pretty quickly , we were there midday . Food came pretty quick, if you're in town, I recommend this place parking lot , is always full. But someone seems to always make room for another car.

The ruben and fries were very good. The ordering, refill and food arrived just great. But, after brining the check, the server didn't come back and we took it to the counter. We were not sure what to do.

Had a great brunch experience at Elmer's. Restaurant is very large and can accommodate many people; we were seated right after walking in. The menu is quite extensive with breakfast and lunch options. Ordered the stuffed hash browns and potato pancakes with sausage. The portions are large and satisfying. Also ordered a mimosa which had a generous pour. Our server checked in with us often to see what we needed and how we were enjoying our meals.

I gave Elmer's a second try. I ordered the Tillamook cheese and ham omelet with hash browns and a biscuit. The omelet was very dry and the ham (which is cubed) seemed to be under the omelet instead of inside. The potatoes were okay, they are not at all seasoned so salt and pepper are a must. Soon after breakfast, I had some stomach cramps and later that evening I had full-blown food-borne illness symptoms. I won't go into details other than to say I haven't been that sick since I had the flu two years ago. No, I did not go to a doctor, but my symptoms and their timing led me to believe it was definitely from my breakfast meal at Elmer's. I reported my symptoms to the Riverside County Health Department. I won't eat at Elmer's again. ***UPDATE*** Shout out to the Riverside County Health Department who did an inspection on 6/28/24 and discovered food at Elmer's not being stored at the correct temperature, including the ingredients of the omelet I ordered. Hopefully they will get their refrigerator repaired so no other customers get sick.

This place can handle a LOT of people, so don't be turned away if the parking lot is busy. Service is really great - the servers were prompt and retuned several times to refill coffee, etc. Interior is vintage old Hollywood. The menu is a bit mind-boggling, but if you can't find something on it for breakfast you don't deserve to eat! I had the eggs benny with avocado (see photo). It was perfectly done, and the side of fruit was just great! My wife had the lingonberry crepes (see photo) which she really enjoyed. Great place for breakfast!

A nice place to have breakfast! I tried the German pancake for the first time it was really yummy and something new! The service could've been faster but everyone was very kind. The outside seating was also very nice I would definitely come again!

This was followed by the country fried steak breakfast, which boasted a succulent, juicy steak accompanied by fresh and flavorful sides. Compelled to return the next day, I opted for the crab BLT salad. It did not disappoint; the salad was a masterpiece, featuring generous lumps of fresh crab meat that elevated the dish to another level. I eagerly anticipate my next visit to this outstanding establishment.

Good option is you are looking for getting some brunch food and friendly service . This is a really decent brunch place in palm spring. I like they have a good verity of atypical brunch food options , such as shrimp and grits, biscuit and gravy, short-rib egg Benedict, and some healthy choices too, like zucchini spirals .
