A cozy, bustling spot in Williamsburg, Edith’s serves hearty sandwiches on bagels or housemade bread, and their unique coffee slushie is a must-try.
"Originally a COVID pop-up, now known for modern Jewish-inspired sandwiches like the Sephardi breakfast wrap and the latke egg and cheese sandwich, along with innovative drinks like an iced cafe slushie with oat milk and tahini."
"I’ll never forget being 11 years old and learning that it wasn’t ‘healthy’ to have a white mocha iced Frappuccino every morning before school. While that information did send me spiraling onto the toxic hamster wheel of diet culture for 20 years, it didn’t change my penchant for a morning milkshake. Hence me falling in love with the frozen cold brew with oat milk tahini at Edith’s. Creamy, dreamy bliss that will make you happy to be awake for at least 18 minutes. They also have insane breakfast wraps." - cat cohen
"Everything at Edith's is a made with a bit of flair. Their house pastrami sandwich comes smothered special sauce and sauerkraut, and they have a signature coffee-tahini slushy that's essentially a breakfast milkshake. You should come for both of those things, but the headliner here is the BEC&L. As the name hints, this sandwich comes with a crispy latke stuffed in the middle. It looks unwieldy, and it is—but there are times in life when you need to eat something excessive and unnecessary (when you're hungover, for example). The bagels are especially dense and doughy, and they're unlike any others in NYC." - team infatuation
"Edith’s serves Jewish-American staples that we wish we had at the break-fasts of our youth, including a breakfast sandwich served on a Chicago-style bagel (which is flat like a Montreal bagel, but made without the honey) with a homemade latke smack in the middle. We could sit here and argue about the BEC’s proper classification as a snack or not a snack. Instead, we think you should do whatever you want, knowing that ordering a latke by itself with some trout roe is also an excellent snacking decision." - hannah albertine
"Formerly a bagel pop-up inside Paulie Gee’s, Edith’s has officially opened a permanent location in Williamsburg. The new sandwich counter has an expanded menu, including everything from smoked brisket pastrami on rye and a bagel BEC with latkes, to raspberry-rosewater croissants and chicken schnitzel pitas. But if you plan on staying your pajamas (read: five-year-old sweats) all day, just order Edith’s for delivery. Their shop takes online orders Thursday-Sunday, which means you can have a top-notch Brooklyn bagel brunch experience without having to wait in line." - nikko duren
