Experience the magic at this iconic Disney hotel, where monorail convenience, stunning Magic Kingdom views, and family-friendly amenities reign supreme.
"The most modern of Disney World’s hotel offerings, The Contemporary is also its oldest, one of two hotels located at Walt Disney World when the resort opened in 1971. Rooms in the main tower feature touches from Disney’s The Incredibles franchise, which reflects the hotel’s midcentury theme. Kids will love seeing the super suits “hanging” in the closet, but the overall effect is subtle, adding just the right amount of whimsy." - Valerie Marino
"Disney’s Contemporary Resort provides monorail transportation to Epcot and Magic Kingdom, reducing the frequency of waiting for buses. Guests enjoy perks like early park entry and extended evening hours for Deluxe Resort guests." - Mary Helen Law
"One of the original resorts at Walt Disney World, the Contemporary offers the ultimate perk for those who want to be in the middle of the magic—direct sidewalk access to the Magic Kingdom. “It's great if you're staying late in the parks,” says one reader who voted for the property in our annual Readers' Choice Awards. This futuristic looking resort is home to a 90-foot-tall mural by Disney legend Mary Blair and the best fireworks viewing spot in the whole kingdom from the observation deck at the California Grill." - Valerie Marino
"Guests can walk directly to the park from Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Diners at The California Grill located on the top floor have access to a viewing deck that pipes in the show’s sound." - Travel + Leisure Editors
"Disney's Contemporary Resort opened over 50 years ago, and guests still love its iconic A-frame main tower. The modern Deluxe resort has a fantastic location — the monorail runs right through the middle of the hotel, and you can walk to Magic Kingdom Park — and plenty of great amenities, including fun pools and fantastic views. California Grill is a guest-favorite restaurant, and Chef Mickey's offers a character breakfast that's the perfect start to a Disney-filled day. The resort got some updates just in time for Disney World's 50th anniversary, including a new dining venue, Steakhouse 71, and reimagined guest rooms with a theme inspired by 'The Incredibles.' Over the past 20 years, I've stayed here over five times, most recently in April 2023, so this resort has tons of happy memories for me. I stayed in a club-level room during my recent trip, which provided access to the lounge where guests can enjoy free snacks (we had sushi, charcuterie, and more!) and alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages." - Travel + Leisure Editors
