DeStefano's Steakhouse

I took my mom to this restaurant again for her birthday. The new location is not far from the old location and the decorations of the place are the same. Menu also the same or pretty close to last time my mom was here too. Steak is always great and I love bacon so much. My family enjoy so much and I'm happy that I take her out to her favorite restaurant.

Birthday dinner @ Destefano's was AMAZING!!! You know you had a good time when you forget to take any 'before' pics and only have an empty plate to show for the delicious dinner. Highly recommend the 'porterhouse for 2'. We also shared the creamed spinach, wedge potatoes, sweet &spicy bacon and the arugula pear salad. There were left overs to go and my martinis were made to Perfection! Most memorable was our server Emily. She was friendly and knowledgeable, an absolute delight. I would return again and again for those perfect martinis and Emily's warm service. Kudos to Destefano's for providing an all around delectable dining experience. 👏

What a great restaurant. Great food, wonderful staff. Welcoming in every way. We had a terrific time last night. The owner, Joey, and his son John, who also was our server, made the evening special. Thank you for your outstanding and generous hospitality!

A good steak place. Not great, but better than average. I love the old school New York vibe with the photos on the wall. Service was excellent!

This place is very clean, the waiters very friendly. I am not a meat person, but I wanted to bring my husband because it was his birthday, he loves meat. My husband and children loved it and I liked it a lot too. When I made the online reservation I gave them a note that I wanted a good table since it was my husband's birthday and when my children ordered dessert they brought an extra for my husband with the sign Happy Birthday without asking.

took my wife here for her birthday and I have to say this is one of the top dining experiences weve had, and the food was outstanding along with our waitress and the overall vibe. We got the 12 oz filet mignon, with crab cake appetizer, potatoes, and sauteed mushroom side dish and it was one of the best meals ive ever eaten. The filet mignon was perfect. I'd definitely come back and recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's safe to say I love Destefanos steakhouse!

One of my favorite steakhouses I’ve ever visited. The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in. We started with the iceberg salad and portobello mushrooms — both fresh and full of flavor. For the main course, we shared the Porterhouse steak for two, cooked perfectly medium rare just as we ordered. Sides included creamy corn topped with cheese , rich and delicious. We enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine, and to top it off, the owner generously treated us to tiramisu on the house, a sweet and thoughtful touch. The atmosphere inside is warm and welcoming, with a great vibe throughout. Highly recommend to all my friends and family - and without a doubt, I’ll be back in the blink of an eye.

The steak crust was really good-we got the ribeye. It was good-cooked medium rare like we asked. I enjoyed the bread and cesar salad. I could do without the creamed corn. We would come back!

DeStefano's is by far the best steakhouse in Brooklyn -- most certainly one of the absolute best in NYC. The vibe is wonderful--warm, cozy, neighborhood feels. The restaurant is so welcoming and the walls covered with photos of personalities who have come through the doors. The service is magnificent. Our server was absolutely wonderful. She was knowledgeable, personable, and took care of us so very well. Joe, the owner, is kind, welcoming and walked through the restaurant a few times, to each table, to assure everyone was pleased. Then there is the food. The care that goes into the food is so obvious. From preparation to presentation to taste, the food is absolutely incredible. We started with the Bacon. So flavorful and juicy. Then, we had the 12oz filet mignon. I've never seen a 12oz version in other steakhouses We also had the 24oz Ribeye. Both were perfect. The garlic mashed potatoes, and special Brussel sprouts were wonderful. The creamed spinach was my absolute favorite side. We ended with the mousse cake and it was simply perfect. DeStefano's is no joke. The vibe, food, and service will have you wanting to come back again and again.

DeStefano's steakhouse provides quality food with quality service. This steakhouse is dimly lit but sets a nice tone to the place. And while it doesn't present itself on the outside or inside like an upscale steakhouse, the quality of everything is that of one. Our waitress was attentive and friendly the entire evening. We started with the short rib rolls and the Caesar salad. The short rib rolls were full of delicious short rib and stuffed with mashed potatoes making the most decadent appetizer. The Caesar salad was one of the best I've ever had. The salad was perfectly dressed and so crispy. The croutons were also crunchy. I couldn't get enough! The ribeye steak was perfectly seasoned and was on the fattier side but it is a ribeye! I loved every bite and it was cooked a perfect medium rare. It paired perfectly with the mashed potatoes and the special of brussel sprouts. I did think the brussel sprouts were a little softer than I'd like as I prefer them a little crispy but they were so good cooked with bacon! Overall, I really enjoyed it here and would love to come back!

The food was spectacular. We got a NY Strip and a ribeye and they literally melted like butter. For sides we got the garlic mash which were Devine, and green beans which were good. Very crunchy. Service was amazing. The decor is cozy and classy at the same time.

Went for the steak, left knowing that if I ever returned it would be for that glorious pork chop It's dark, it's old school, it's straight forward, the steak wasn't what I thought it would be l, and the porkchop was absolutely next level!

My wife and I were craving a good steak and being from Brooklyn (born & raised) we decided on DeStefano's for our Anniversary meal. It was DELICIOUS! I will absolutely be returning! We went for a 5pm reservation so we had the place to ourselves but the vibe , decor, and music is exactly what you would want for an old school Brooklyn Steakhouse. I actually would go back for a 7pm dinner to get the full effect of this place. It was pricey but good restaurants are not cheap and cheap restaurants are not always good (even though there a few good ones out there). To start, we ordered the Burrata which we ate with the softest seeded rolls. For entrees we each ordered the 16oz NY Strip which comes to the table sizzling and cooked to your liking. My steak was a perfect MR. The seasoning on top was delicious. Peppery, buttery and tender but not overpowering. You still get the taste of that delicious aged beef. The Garlic mashed potatoes were a hit. Some places offer Garlic mashed potatoes but with 0 garlic taste. These were perfect. The small size was certainly enough. Our total bill was $227 with no alcohol. All in all I scored this place a 5/5 stars (only Quality Italian has received a 5 star from me). I will definitely be going back. The food, decor, ambiance, and hospitality were all 5/5! Who knows, maybe an anniversary tradition for us.

We come here to celebrate special occasions! We love the atmosphere, the service, the neighborhood vibe... the food is incredible and it's never too crowded or loud. Best Porkchop I've ever had!! The crab cakes are good too!

"Pork chop is incredible. Clover club and the NY sour were amazing. Wedge salad is underrated" I decided to head back and give DeStefano's another go. We came in on a Tuesday early in the night. It was nice for a quiet dinner. Our server had amazing recommendations and paid attention to the details. There wasn't a single second where we were waiting for him to come back around. For starters, we got the short rib rolls, which were something unique. They were each filled with a generous portion of meat. They came with a horseradish sauce, that was SO good. The wedge salad was served on a chilled plate and was seriously so good. You like Wedge salads, definitely try this one. For entrees, we got chicken cordon bleu and the pork chop. The pork chop was SO MOIST. Like criminally moist. It was the star of the show. The chicken was good, and a big portion. We got a small creamed corn for our side. The small is a good option for two people. We easily finished it. So cheesy. Our cocktails were both recommended by our server and he wasn't wrong. Clover club was fresh, a perfect summer cocktail. The Sour had red wine and bourbon, and they paired so well?? I would have never guessed. We also had to try espresso martinis for dessert. Perfect closer to a big dinner.

Food is AMAZING! Visiting my daughter in Williamsburg and we decided to go to DeStefano's for dinner. Pork chop, wedge salad, stuffed portobello, maple glazed carrots and garlic mashed. Almost forgot the prosciutto wrapped asparagus! All 10/10! Our waitress was from Ireland and was attentive and quick, but smooth. We had a really good time and will return. The pork chop was a star . Best I've EVER had! We will return. Attractive ambience! Clean and semi-dark, quiet place!

Delicious steak dinner. Good portion sizes. Went to celebrate my retirement and happy with food, service and ambiance. Wait staff was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. Expensive but worth it. I didn't have room for dessert but had a spoonful of icecream in a chocolate shell and it was yummy!

So I'm going to try and not be overly critical, but it's going be a challenge... I brought my boyfriend out for dinner tonight, hoping to celebrate my promotion locally, instead of traveling to the city for a nice dinner. I did my research and the reviews were so good, that I'm a bit confused of people's expectations for a dinner at the price point. A 4.5 star rating is very GENEROUS! We made a reservation for 8 PM and showed up at 7:45 PM. The bartender greeted us and sat us, (her personality was impeccable and so friendly - ideal hospitality energy). We got some sparkling water and a beautiful bottle of wine that was just divine. There was also a fantastic selection for a local restaurant. We ordered the Porterhouse for two, the pear salad, creamed parmesan corn, green beans with pancetta, and the garlic mashed potatoes. It came with two complementary rolls and butter. The salad came, it was KILLER, and I was so excited for the meal, as everything had been excellent so far. Then the main meal came... and what a disappointment! The steak was warm, and the oil was not even sizzling on arrival, the sides were all luke warm, not hot. Everything was just so utterly bland. It just had little to flavor, very little salt, no seasoning other than garlic and pepper, no herbs, no nothing. The creamed corn was just milky, the green beans were not crisp, but quite limp, however the garlic mashed potatoes were delicious. But can you really screw up mashed potatoes? I knew not to order to dessert, as the portions looked minuscule online, so we just asked for the bill at the end of meal. Our server was very pleasant, but I felt life for this price point, the service should be almost annoying - Similarly to Peter Luger. Especially as they are trying to mimic that type of environment it seems. For the two of us, it was $348.00... but for what was presented and the level of service, I would have expected the price point to be about $100 less than that. The restaurant wasn't even busy, there were three tables of two and one four top for two servers. But based on the customer base present during our meal, it seems to attract big ego men looking to take low brow women for a "high end" dinner experience where they don't want to be seen. But alas, price does not dictate quality. I wouldn't recommend for some someone celebrating something. There are far better restaurants for less money in the area that will whet the pallet throughly! Seek other options.

Had a great dinner at DeStefano everything was delicious. Great service. Steak cook and quality was excellent. Only thing missing is that sizzling presentation other big name steakhouses do. Was a little disappointed to not hear that beautiful steak coming to the table. However the the texture and quality of the steak was so good I would definitely return again.

Everything was exceptional in my opinion! The service, the food and ambience. My steak was cooked perfectly and the sides made my entire meal. I've found a new gem in Brooklyn when I want a great steak!!!

Every expectation met, From the moment we entered the bartender greeted us, guided us to the host stand and we were able to confirm our reservation and be seated. Jennifer was assigned to our table and we engaged immediately exchanging our plans for our meal and that we were celebrating my mom for her Birthday. Joey Dee, A life long friend came out to greet us and chat with us. Today was our first visit ever and we regret not have come years before. Everything was Spectacular and we genuinely have no complaints. The birthday treat for my mom, absolutely unexpected, yet appreciated. Welcome Jennifer to the Team, hope you have a great career there and hope we meet again on our return in the future. Overall, each staff member was pleasant to engage with and attentive to our needs..10/10..!!

My partner and I came here for my birthday a few weeks ago and I am *so* so glad we did. It was a Tuesday night and the ambiance was perfect: not too hectic, but definitely not empty, and it got much busier toward the end of our meal. First, I just have to say that the service is some of the absolute best in NYC. We had a reservation to come after doing a spa day nearby, but we wound up showing up maybe half an hour early and the servers immediately seated us anyway, accommodating the request I'd made in my reservation to sit in a corner (I find it easier to talk). Everyone was just the right amount of attentive--nobody was to intense or checking in on us too much, but they also made sure our every need was taken care of, including the table being quickly and quietly cleaned up as needed. They also drew "happy birthday" on the plate for our desserts, which they very kindly comped off our bill. Also! Neither my partner or I drink, and you can kind of tell when restaurants are a little disappointed if everyone's ordering nonalcoholic drinks, but that absolutely was not the case here--a subtle thing that's actually really meaningful. The food itself is fantastic. A steak was perfectly cooked, the sides were all amazing (spinach and potato wedges), and we had a fantastic iceberg wedge salad, too. If there's one starter I can recommend more than anything, though, it's the sweet and spicy bacon. It is...just unreal. Both of us couldn't stop remarking on how incredible it was (and it went perfectly with the salad, too). We live in a different part of Brooklyn that isn't easily accessible from the North BK area, which is why we rarely come to Williamsburg or the surrounding areas, but before even finishing our meal, we were already talking about how can't wait to come back. DeStefano's is a fantastic spot for birthdays, groups, and dates, and I'm sure it'd even be wonderful solo--a true gem.

Incredible steaks, delicious bacon steaks, and great cocktails with an old school vibe that made me free like a real New Yorker! Best kept secret is how many cool and non touristy steak houses are in Brooklyn. Came here for a fancy date night and it totally knocked it out of the park! The old fashioneds were delicious, our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and our bacon slab and salad came out so quickly. The dressing was a little sweet on the salad, but i really enjoyed the pears and shaved cheese. The bacon slab is a go to but very decadent move at a steak out, and it was SO delicious and salty. The steaks themselves though were insanely delicious. Ordered rare, perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned. We were so full, we couldnt even LOOK at a dessert menu. Great spot with great prices for the quality food.

Best NY Strip steak I've ever had! Must try steakhouse! If you're looking for Peter Luger, (Peter Lugar if misspelled) this is an incredible option. Easy to get a table, they serve food at bar at night. Owner is often there and his son is the manager, not just an amazing steakhouse but family owned and operated. The creamed spinach here is excellent as well! So if you are looking for a steakhouse in Brooklyn or a steakhouse in New York, you have to try!

I order short ribs rolls and 16 oz New York strips, salad is Pear, Arugula Pancetta not too surprising but average, the short ribs rolls just like the ones we eat at the Chinese restaurant, but the steak way better than Peter Luger !!! This is surprising me ! Services just normal, ambiance are okay Will return to try the porterhouse steak next time

Took my bf here for his birthday dinner and we had such a great time! Very nice old school Italian steakhouse in a neighborhood. I loved the decor and service! We ordered the Cesar salad, ny strip steak, mahi mahi, garlic mashed potatoes, and crème brûlée cheesecake. Winners were the steak, mashed potatoes and cheesecake. Portions were huge and we actually fell into a food coma afterwards and went to bed very early. Amazing food and a great place to dine on special occasions!

This is the perfect spot for a quiet romantic dinner date night. The service was amazing and waiters were very pleasant. We had the asparagus bundles as our appetizer which were super flavorful. Their filet mignon was perfectly cooked (medium/rare), super tender and tasty. Then to end the evening, we went with the tiramisu and classic panna cota for dessert. Both were pleasantly de-li-cious! Yumz!

DeStefanos was everything we hoped for in a NY steakhouse. The atmosphere, the service and the meal were all perfect. We started with the roasted beet salad and short rib rolls and then had the Porterhouse for two and Green Beans with bacon and garlic. Everything was delicious. Prepared expertly and served timely and professionally!! I highly recommend it for anyone who wants a great dining experience.

Stumbled upon DeStafano's on a Saturday night with a last minute reservation. Waited an hour at the bar before sitting which was not bad as we intended on doing this. The bartender Michelle makes great drinks, gives good recommendations and is an all around pleasant human. Our waiter, on the other hand seemed like he had an attitude. Didn't let that ruin our night. The food was incredible GET the lamb chops. Sides we went with (not pictured) garlic mashed and creamed spinach, tasty but nothing special. Opted out for dessert. Definitely recommend the steakhouse.

DeStefano was highly recommended and we were completely satisfied with our dinner! The porterhouse steak for two was cooked perfectly and delicious! Awesome drinks too! We would definitely return when we're in Williamsburg. Also very impressed with how clean and spotless this restaurant is! This is the greatest steakhouse in wall of New York City do not be fooled!!! Come and be absolutely awestruck be sure to have one of the incredible side cars which are like an elixir of God !!!

The bill feels small compared to what you receive. Staff friendliness transforms routine visits into enjoyable experiences. Some dishes wow more but none disappoint. The interior design here catches your eye immediately. I'm scheduling another visit next week!

Peter Luger prices but yummier. This is not a tourist trap but rather a nice restaurant with great food. Even sitting at the bar and eating feels nice! Treat yourself!

This is the perfect place for those who want a cozy dinner. The steak cooking and the quality of the meat were in no way inferior to Peter Luger. The servers were also very friendly. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy dinner in a comfortable atmosphere at a reasonable price.

All the way from Houston we must say that we were highly impressed with the quality of our steaks....the ambiance...and especially the service! We met the owner and his son and the size of the steakhouse made our dining experience very intimate. This being our first time to NYC, there were a lot of steakhouses to choose from but we saw lots of positive reviews and the pics helped us decide on DeStefano's. We were not disappointed and will add this steakhouse to our list of faves when we return! Thanks for making our dining experience exquisite!

Still one of my faves. This visit I branched out and finally tried the pork chop and it was chef's kiss. It was flavorful, crusty and the perfect temperature. We always get the wedge - their blue cheese dressing is so good, and the creamed spinach. We always leave happy and full.

I've been going to DeStefano's for about 8 years. I've never had any issues and have always enjoyed the food. That all changed this past Saturday when I hosted my bday dinner. I've never experienced such horrible service. The waitress Emily P, treated me and my husband with such rudeness that I had to request a different server. Emily was rude from the get-go. There was no greeting, no introduction, just her rushing us to put in our drink orders with her nasty attitude. It was obvious she did not want to serve us. I asked her name and mentioned that she never introduced herself, she said "I know" and shrugged her shoulders. I have no idea what we did or said to Emily for her to treat us with such disrespect but I can assure you I will never return. She had the audacity to give us a fake apology at the end of the service as she brought out our bill(they pool tips so she had no choice but to try and save face at the end). DeStefano's has fallen from grace.

The steak in this restaurant tastes only of heavy pepper and salt, no other flavors, and is grilled raw. It is expensive and unpalatable.

There is something to be said about an old school Italian Steakhouse. DeStefano's is a gem of a restaurant in Williamsburg , Brooklyn. Framed portraits serve as decoration in the small dining room. The bar was is separate from the man dining room is a nice open space but still intimate with tables for dining as well. The service was great from start to finish. We never felt rushed even after realizing our party of three had been there for 2 + hours as the dining room filled up. May sure you make reservations if you plan on dining. Steaks weee cooked to our liking. The only miss were the short rib egg rolls and creamed corn which were just ok. Absolutely best Damn Steak house in Brooklyn. I've been to this establishment about 10 Times and the PorterHouse for 2 is a must have even if your the only one eating. New York strip is a Definite go to & DO NOT FORGET to order the Garlic Mashed Potato & the infused corn. The service is exceptional & Mr. John is an absolute Gentleman . The ambiance is cozy with a possible Date happening 2 tables over or a family enjoying a Great Steak night out. Thank you Destefano's Staff for a wonderful Family night out.
