"This year-old, 162-room boutique hotel is housed in a beautiful neoclassical building and is the perfect example of how perfectly contemporary design elements—minimal furniture, museum-white walls, and lots of high-tech gadgetry—can lend themselves to a traditional space. The rooms are kept purposefully stark, with the street-facing windows and scattered pops of grey serving as the sole decorative elements. Upstairs, on the 360-degree terrace, you’ll find the small but incredibly Instagrammable Sky Pool and the Nice to Meet You restaurant, which in addition to great tapas, cocktails, and music, offers the most intense sunsets and panoramic views of the Madrid skyline. Also worth mentioning are the very reasonable room rates. "

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! From the moment I arrived, Beatriz at the reception made me feel truly welcome. She was friendly, professional, and went out of her way to ensure I had everything I needed. The room was spotless, with every detail carefully attended to, making it a pleasure to come back to after a long day. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, providing a perfect night’s sleep. Overall, a fantastic experience—highly recommended!

I had a fantastic stay at Dear Hotel Madrid, and a huge part of that was thanks to Beatriz, who was incredibly helpful, always ready with a warm smile and great recommendations that made my trip even better. From check-in to assisting with local tips, she went above and beyond to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. The hotel itself is absolutely lovely—beautifully designed, spotless, and with a welcoming atmosphere. The beds were super comfy, making for a perfect night’s sleep after a day of exploring. Plus, the location is unbeatable, right in the heart of Madrid, making it easy to walk to all the key sights, restaurants, and shops. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city, and a big thank you to Beatriz for her kindness and professionalism! Will definitely be back. 😊

This hotel is fantastic! Me and my friend stayed at the Dear Hotel for 5 days and it was an amazing experience! When we first arrived, we met Miriam at the front desk and she was so accommodating and welcoming! The hotel is centralized in the city which makes it convenient to walk to nearby restaurants, bars, and tourist attractions. The beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was clean and modern, and the view from the rooftop bar was out of the world! I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to visit Madrid!

What a wonderful location adjacent to the metro and also walkable to most major landmarks. Beautiful sunsets, great views from our terrace and also from the bar at the top of the hotel. The breakfast buffet was delicious and the staff (Luis, Jorge, Eduardo) were incredibly kind and helpful. The reception staff were absolutely delightful, most staff spoke English well, all went out of their way to make us feel welcome. They explained everything we needed to know, helped us navigate the metro, really above and beyond. Paula was especially thoughtful and we would like to invite her to visit us in California anytime!

The hotel is in a great location, with every landmark within walking distance. If someone doesn’t like walking, there is a metro station right in front of the hotel, which is very well connected, making everything easily accessible. Most importantly for me, it’s very quick to get to Santiago Bernabéu. I have stayed at this hotel twice already and would gladly return, just as I would recommend it to all my friends. The room is very comfortable, the beds are cozy, there is a nice view from the room, and the bathroom is clean. Both times, I chose the option with breakfast and the breakfast is truly praiseworthy. The staff is very friendly and communicative, and I would like to commend the waiter Jorge for his professionalism. Thank you for a great time—see you again!

Google
The hotel is not worth the money. I paid nearly 250.- EUR Single in a normal double room for 1 night (without any meals or extras). The hotel is situated very nice. A little bit hidden in the very busy city. But all in all it looks a little bit shabby. There are scratches everywhere. The wash basin looks had a lot of dust on it. Looked like nobody cleaned it for years. The rain shower is calcium deposits. The door from the bathroom looked like it had its own shower. The girls from the receptions are very nice and I appreciated the service of storing my luggage. The pool looks very nice and the view from the balcony is stunning. Still I think there is a bit of a to big gap between the paid price and the standart of the hotel.

Lovely hotel. Great central location. Rooms very clean. Bathroom, shower in particular was amazing. Fantastic rooftop bar with stunning vistas across Madrid. Paula and the team ridiculously friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Dani at Dear Hotel made breakfast an absolute delight. He was super friendly, funny, and genuinely went out of his way to take care of us. Even though iced coffee wasn’t on the menu, he made one anyway—and it was perfect. He kept the vibe light and fun while making sure we had everything we needed. Great service, amazing breakfast, and honestly, Dani just made the whole experience even better.

Yelp
The hotel is in a great location! It is withing a 15 to 20 minute walk to main plazas or attractions, with plenty of restaurants, stores and supermarkets near by! Check in was a but slow, since there was a big family before us and they were just a bottleneck. It took a while doe the reception staff to acknowledge us and finally we got checked in. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, clean, comfortable, with modern decor and a large bathroom. You get a hydrsting face mask with your bathroom toiletries and your own slippers! A plus when you come from a long flight or tired! We had a high floor room with a balcony and the view was awesome! Breakfast is extra but it is super convenient with quality items, made to order eggs (from a list they provide), cheese, fruit, pastries and delicious coffee! The restaurant is on the top of the building, so you get to see the awesome view! Jorge was super nice, friendly, attentive and was happy to answer any questions we had. The staff was attentive as well. The only con - the security staff needs to be less rude and more attentive, when guests ask a question. All of the ones we encountered clearly did not want to be at work and just had a negative attitude. Something the hotel needs to check out. Overall, it was a great stay!

Yelp
Great location . Friendly attentive staff. Rooms small . Bed is a double , tough for couples. Next to subway and buses.

Yelp
11/30/21 - MADRID SPAIN: We checked in on the 27th and had a pleasant stay here. It's a decent hotel w/an excellent staff (5 Stars) & a great location right @ Gran Via 80 in the city center of Madrid. The rooms themselves are nothing remarkable but they are comfortable & clean though somewhat dated. One issue I had and it's a minor one considering it's November & too cold to use. In their information they show a roof top deck w/a swimming pool neither of which exist? I asked at the desk downstairs because I wanted to take a look around on the roof & they informed me that there wasn't access to the roof or a swimming pool? We had a room on the 11th floor the top floor overlooking a decent view of the city though somewhat limited. We had a balcony w/a table & 2 chairs though it was too cold to use. Tomorrow it's hasta la bye bye as we are on our way to Barcelona Spain

Yelp
We recently toured Madrid, Sevilla and Granada early Sept 2023. Stayed at 5 hotels along the trip. This hotel was absolutely horrible and one of the worst we have ever stayed. Room was noisy all night from the restaurant and bar on the roof. Other hotel room doors closing all night. So impossible to sleep. We complained to the front desk about the continuous noise. We had purposely requested and paid for a premium room for comfort and quiet but we're very disappointed. The worse part was the front desk who argued with us that there was no noise after midnight and that was not possible. As we had reservation for multiple night we asked for a refund but because we had prepaid, they said it was non refundable. Not very friendly nor service oriented. Would strongly recommend if you are in Madrid to find a different hotel. There are over 1300 in Madrid so many more to choose from.

Yelp
This review is solely for the rooftop bar, which we were led to believe had some of the best views for Madrid. Honestly, the views were lackluster... as was the unwelcoming, borderline rude, service we received. It was a stunningly beautiful day out and the place was virtually empty, which should have been a sign. Our greeting was an ask if we had a reservation, upon which we said no and were asked to wait. The maitre d came up and again asked if we had a reservation, then asked if we were staying in the hotel. Because we said we were not guests of the hotel, he informed us that we could only use the very last table at the very end of the restaurant - where the seat cushions had been removed but in tact for all other tables. We ordered drinks - the menu was quite limited, so ended up with bottles of Amstel Radler and a Weissbier (again, very few options.) They came out quickly accompanied by dirty glasses and we were promptly forgotten about by the staff. Because there was no chance they would bring the check to us, we paid our 10 Euro on the way out and left regretting that we wasted time and effort on such a pitiful experience. Don't make the same mistake we did!

Yelp
Dear Hotel Madrid was an excellent choice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is located in a central area near the metro and most bus lines. You can basically walk to most restaurants and attractions. My daughter and I was worried that the room would be too small and it wasn't. I love the comfortable slippers and the cozy robes in the rooms. We had an excellent view from our window. The bathroom was really nice and spacious and I fell in love with the shower head. The rooftop was decent for drinks but the buffet was overpriced for what you were getting. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Tareq B.

Yelp
Nice clean hotel, with efficient service. The roof top pool is very small, the size of a hot tub. The bar service a bit slow. The ac in the room worked great. Location is great excellent.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. The reception staff was very nice and assisted us with all our needs. The room was simple, clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast upstairs was delicious and had great variety of food. Mendoza and all the breakfast waiters were very polite and provided excellent service to us and all the guests around us. The rooftop views were magnificent and amazing! Would definitely stay at this hotel again!!!!!

Yelp
This hotel looks great from pics but is just a big scam. Our travel plans changed earlier in the week so we had to cut down our 4 nights stay down to 2. (We paid over $600 USD for the 4 nights) There was no indication from Expedia's change/cancellation policy that we had to call the hotel if we didn't show up for the first night. When we arrived at the hotel, a trio of unfriendly women coldly greeted us and told us the reservation was canceled and that they gave our room away. Furthermore we wouldn't be getting a refund for the 2 remaining nights. Also, there weren't any rooms available for the next two nights 2 things about this: 1) A quick google search revealed that they did have rooms available for tonight. The first listing for rooms available was Dear Hotel Madrid! 2) A hotel of that caliber should have messaged us 24 hours after the Day 1 check in to see if we were still showing up. I've stayed at comparable hotels all over the world and this service was done at multiple locations. These guys are just money hungry scammers. They don't care about their clientele and are quick to make a buck. Don't stay here and give them your money - they steal too much money from other people. You may have gotten $300 from us but karma will get you good. Just wait

Colin R.

Yelp
Simple stay. Overall there wasn't anything wrong or outstanding during my last visit. The room was just what I booked and everything was the way I expected from their website. The staff was friendly. The pool opens at 9am not 12.

Aline Y.

Yelp
Hotel was great. Views personal service location all perfect. In particular great service staff all around. I would like to call out Luis for the special care he gave us daily for breakfast. Highly recommend!

Ardeshir M.

Yelp
During our stay we had complications with our booking and we had to book an extra room upon our arrival. Although we had asked for an extra mattress when booking the room upon arrival we were told that all the mattresses are taken and that we would have to book a separate room. In addition to that, two of us would have to find another hotel the next day because the extra room was only available for one night. The hotel receptionist was nor helpful or friendly. Our efforts to speak to the manager were futile. Dear hotel is located in a nice place with a metro station, a park and attractions in the vicinity. The rooms are nicely decorated and equipped.

Yelp
BEWARE. Booked this hotel and by the pictures we were excited about this leg of the trip. They falsely advertise having valet parking, there isn't even a place to pull up and unload. The hotel staff tells you to drive around thru what is a major city intersection and park in the under ground garage 3 blocks away. Lug your luggage up 3 flights of stairs and down the street to the hotel. Now for the best part. The hotel is in the center of the city which is great!!! EXCEPT for the fact that hotel policy is to shut the air conditioning off in the evening until 10 am!!! They suggest opening a window, which if you were in the quiet country side would be beautiful. But you are at the biggest intersection in the city with bus stops and garbage trucks beneath you all night long. So you either are over heating and in comfortable or awake to mass traffic. Also they offer a " let us help you with your laundry service " they charge astronomical prices your better off buying all new garme

Yelp
What a nightmare! I booked a deluxe city view room up to 3 people at this hotel via hotels.com for my two kids and myself. I noticed a glitch in my reservation few days before my arrival and sent an email to the reception...the reservation mentioned two people instead of three. At this point, the staff was not willing to help us and only want to overcharge me. Hotels.com was really helpful and told me this should fine to update my reservation with no additional charges based on the price I already paid but they needed the approval of the hotel. The hotel refused categorically the update and overcharged me almost the price of an additional room for 2 people for a bed in my room...scared that I would not pay the overcharge, they rudely ask for the payment as soon as I checked in...telling me they needed to move a bed from another room to fit me...but when I showed them that other rooms were available at a lower rate than what I was paying they agreed to show me other rooms accommodating 3 people. On top of that they want to charge me more than 20 dollars for breakfast whereas breakfast is included in room charges... This is a nicely decorated boutique hotel in a convenient neighborhood with NO trained staff, NO client oriented spirit...and these are key qualities none should forget in this business I'm so disappointed. Find another place to stay or make sure you pay for everything in advance;)

Yelp
I love everything about this hotel. Location, Location, Location, and service, service, and more service. The staff was unbelievable friendly and professional. We arrived rather late and we were greeted as if it was 11 am. We arrived to the airport at 10:45PM and to the hotel by 11:15PM. We were hungry and tired and walked around the hotel and found a lovely restaurant I will review in a bit. On the meant time, our hotel made us feel like we were at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Our room was spacious, warm, cozy and the bed very comfortable. Lighting and accessories were minimalistic chic. Love the neutral colors. We were able to use the WI-FI without difficulty. we had some issues in other hotels. We solicited services from the concierge and got tickets to go see THE REAL MADRID the same day we got the tickets. Also we got awesome seats. The hotel's front door is all glass and efficiently opens and closes. Our room had a balcony with a great view. We really enjoy our stay there. All the staff in the reception and in the rooms were great. I highly recommend this hotel and will return to Madrid. It was a great stay all 4 days.. I felt so relaxed, like if it was 10 days...

Yelp
My travel agent booked the wrong days which I noticed immediately. I contacted the hotel and they were unwilling to change the dates. This cost me $450. It would have cost them nothing to change the dates and they would have had future business. Instead they decided to have poor customer service and lost a future customer.

Yelp
If you're looking for a well located lovely hotel in Madrid, you have found the place. With a metro station right outside the front door and a set 30 Euro taxi cost from the airport, it is easily accessible and a great setting for travelling to other parts of the city. The staff are all very helpful, check in and check out were quick processes. The breakfast is excellent, a great and varied spread that is constantly being replenished. The only quibbles I had were that the bar on the roof didn't seem to open until very late in the evening and my hot order for breakfast didn't arrive one morning for 45 minutes, nobody seemed to know where it was and there was little apology when a lukewarm eggs Benedict with congealed hollandaise sauce did eventually turn up.

Yelp
What a disappointment this hotel has been. In Barcelona we chose a spacious Airbnb, great location, posh digs and great management. In tangier we stayed in beautiful Traditional Riad just outside the gates of the Casbah, the service and accommodations were amazing. I give the tour because In madrid we spent double our normal budget for our stay as a splurge. The "Dear Hotel Madrid" boasted a rooftop pool, rooftop dining and lounging for sunsets and a chic downtown location. The experience after 4 days here?... I have had better stays at motel 6! The way too hip for their jobs staff seemed irritated with our large group that rented two suites. Lots of good looking twenty somethings running around talking to each other, put of by their guests interruptions. There is no where to be in this entire hotel outside of your room unless you are spending money. Wanna see the roof?,,, buy overpriced drinks (Think single drink for $12-20. I'll come back to this.). The pool in the promotional photo had to be photographed at just the right angle, it is in reality 8x8 feet and here's the zinger, they are too cheap to heat this large tub. After having suffered shoulder to shoulder crowds on Gran Via for most of the day we thought we'd buy a few pastries and head back up to the rooftop for another night of drinks maybe catch a sunset. After ordering a round for 6 ($100, half our party is 12 and under so soda pop), we gave the kids a pastry from our obvious pastry shop box we had brought in. That's when the gestapo hotel thug barked at us! "No outside food, hotel policy". I asked is there Any place in the hotel we can go to sit and enjoy our pastries? "Your room". Done! Back into the elevator that somehow daily, smells like sewer gas. In the hallway, we split up our paltry treats to split between rooms because the rooms here are so small, there is no way to even have six people stand in one of their "large" suites. Yeah this place sucked.... avoid. This is why Airbnb is killing the hotel industry. It's just a better experience and a better value.

Yelp
I am half divided on my opinion on my feelings on my stay. Its Christmas Eve and I came here to celebrate the holiday with family. The lobby staff is nice and responsive but my feeling my on reception from the roof top food and bar staff is mixed. The breakfast staff are warm and receptive. The evening staff seem aloof and almost hostile. I am not sure if it's directed at me as an American or what but I have a three night stay and have felt that I have received a very cold reception on two of my three nights. Particularly on Christmas Eve. My first night I felt that my reception was eclipsed by o slow night and and desire from the staff to done with their day when I arrived to carry a drink down to my room. Today, Christmas Eve, I went up to get a glass off wine and had a cold reception. I tipped anyway thinking their is some preoccupation going on. I came up later around 10 with my family to see Madrid from the roof top. They were busy. My family left to go back to where they were staying. I wanted to take a glass of wine back down to my room and the waiter said no because he was busy. I spoke to the manager and he made it right by giving me a glass of wine on the house. I am thankful but I still don't understand the continuous cold reception. I appreciate Raphael's response but the staff seems very anti US. Thanks

Yelp
I have been living in madrid for 3 months. The views alone are worth a visit, but the food so far is the best I have had in Spain. I am pretty sure you can't go wrong based on the fact we tried 8 different dishes and every single one was fabulous. The salmorejo- artistic and amazing- they do it differently with some sort of queso (white creamy cheese)I think? Amazing!! The croquettes- different than other places- fabulous. The tuna tartare with foie and the tuna tartare with avocado were both fabulous!!!!! I don't even know which one to recommend more. We also has the pulpo(octopus) which was to die for- I have never had pulpo cooked so well before! Normally I don't like it because it is too rubbery but my dinner companion wanted it so we ordered it- and I was pleasantly surprised! They were in love... We also had some sort of meat sandwich- I don't remember what it was called but it was fabulous! For dessert we had he chocolate torte and the cheesecake. Just an FYI- cheesecake in Spain is not the same as the U.S. Unless specified that is it cheesecake American style. The chocolate torte was amazing!!! It has some sort of lavender snap crackle pop type stuff- like the candy we had when we were kids- but more of a lavender flavor J think- together with the chocolate it was to die for and probably one of the best desserts I have ever had in my life. It was so totally different but so good!! He cheesecake was also super good. There were some sort of cookie crumbles around it and on top that combined with the cheesecake made the dessert go from good aka as you were expect- to fabulous! Both wines we had were very good. The topper on this place is the view- or the views!! Better than any other rooftop places I have been. I would go here just for the views even if I wasn't a fan of the food... And I would go here for the views even if the food and drink was super expensive(which was what I expected)- but the icing on the cake- it's not super expensive and the food is fantastic!! So makes for the perfect place in my book. There were 4 of us- We had 3 bottles of wine- a ton of food, dessert... And the bill was only 127€. Considering the views, the fantastic food, the amount we are and drank... This is probably he best value in town. I am currently living here in Madrid learning Spanish and anyone who comes to visit- this will be a place that I for sure take them. Oh- and the wait staff is incredibly kind. Sometimes waitstaff in Spain can be rude or just not very attentive, etc.. Not what I am used to in the U.S. They have trained their people very well and I think they all speak English. We ordered and spoke to the waiter in Spanish but when I wanted to to to the restroom one of the waiters when I asked where they were told me in Spanish... But a little too fast for me to get it right away and then he repeated it in English. (I had the wait hold on a second I'm translating in my head face.. Or the k didn't actually understand all of that face.. Very common for us students. ;-) A couple quick side note- the top terrace has some views in one more direction you don't get on the restaurant terrace. It's only open to hotel guests up until 8:30, but you can go there after that. Oh... Although.. If visiting madrid- just stay as a hotel guest... The pool is up there and the edge looks over the city. Super beautiful.

Solimar M.

Yelp
This is an awful restaurant... Not worth visiting. The food is composed by cheap products and really expensive for what they offer. The food was serve cold and it was so salty it was impossible to consume. Waiters had a really bad attitude and a terrible way of treating the client. This is not a restaurant of quality, it is a fraud as the boutique hotel restaurant.

Yelp
Unfortunately, my husband and I never got to stay at this hotel because of the pandemic. We were in Segovia when Madrid shut down in March 2020, the day before we were scheduled to check in at Dear Hotel Madrid. I emailed the hotel about options, since clearly going as scheduled was not possible (the hotel actually ended up closing during what would have been our stay there). The hotel refused to be flexible at all; they would not issue any kind of refund and would not give us any kind of credit because we'd cancelled (even though this was completely out of our control). I inquired several times and they basically said there was nothing we could do. This was the only travel vendor that responded this way in Spain or in Italy, where we were also scheduled to travel to during the pandemic (for our honeymoon). All other hotels (and airlines for that matter) at the very least offered us a credit. I'd beware of booking them during this pandemic, since they will not be flexible if travel bans are imposed--and during this time, flexibility is a must since circumstances are changing so quickly.

Yelp
We booked three rooms for three nights at Dear Hotel. The location is great and there are a lot of things to do on Calle Gran Via. The design of the hotel is very nice, you can tell the overall concept is well thought out and executed. However, there are several issues we had with the rooms that we hope they can improve on in the future. First of all, since we booked three rooms each room had something missing! When we first checked-in my room was missing bathrobes, slippers and no batteries on the TV remote. The man at the reception proceeded to inform me that I do not need batteries in the remote I just need to put the card in the slot and all electric appliances would work. That of course is not true, the TV works but the remote has nothing to do with the card in the slot. He did not believe me and had to send his colleague to come up and see the missing batteries. My parent's room was missing a hair dryer and extra toilet paper and both our rooms did not have the room service menu. Even though my mom asked for a hairdryer from both the Housekeeping and reception she never got one! The last room is my sister's, when she checked-in the bathroom was not clean and the toilet had urine in it!! And the coffee machine already had water in the jug and looks like someone used it and forgot to clean it. Housekeeping should have a list to check each room to make sure nothing is missing. The design of the room is nice but impractical. The wooden bedside table is very heavy, too small and impractical. There is only ONE trashcan in the room which is placed in the bathroom, that would be ok if it was not a "fun size" trashcan! It was so small we ended up keeping the extra trash on the floor next to it. The room was also missing an actual tissue box...what they had in the room is one small tissue packet. The hotel is also missing trashcans in the lobby and each floor. Those are the only points we had. We did, however, have hot water in the shower and the wifi was very fast.
