Osmium Coffee Bar is a lively Lakeview gem serving top-notch, unpretentious brews alongside quirky decor and a chill outdoor patio, perfect for freelancers and coffee lovers alike.
"Osmium Coffee Bar is the Lakeview sibling in the Dark Matter family, which is spread out all over the city. Enjoy some strong coffee in a funky space with neon lights and graffiti-style artwork. There’s also a patio for outdoor sipping. Dark Matter has locations in West Loop, West Town, and Avondale." - Eater Staff, Ashok Selvam
"Osmium is one of the spots owned by Dark Matter Coffee, a local coffee company that roasts its own beans. This cafe has a number of tables along one side and a coffee bar on the other, adding up to plenty of space for working. There’s also a patio outside, but you’ll probably want to sit indoors where you can gaze at the artwork on the wall and wonder to yourself whether Salvador Dali painted it in a little-known steampunk phase." - adrian kane, john ringor, veda kilaru
"Osmium is one of the spots owned by Dark Matter Coffee, (who also own Star Lounge, which is open until 9pm). Besides serving excellent coffee, this spot has a bunch of creative coffee-adjacent specials, like a barrel-aged mocha and the “wake and bake” latte with maple, sage, and black pepper. There’s also a patio outside, but you’ll probably want to sit indoors where you can gaze at the artwork on the wall and wonder to yourself whether Salvador Dali painted it in a little-known steampunk phase." - veda kilaru
"Osmium is Dark Matter Coffee's Lakeview cafe. The west side roaster opened up here to fill a void on a somewhat unremarkable swath of Belmont Avenue. Despite being on an "in between" stretch, this quirky coffee bar is a great hangout and is always buzzing. The coffee is unpretentious, refilled for free, and damn good. And they stock Do-Rite donuts daily. The interior embraces kitsch, and the back patio can accommodate a small army. As a roaming freelancer looking to borrow wifi, it's tough to beat." - Studio Malt
