Still one of the best places to grab a coffee in Gothenburg with consistent high quality of the coffee year after year (had my coffee here for +10y) and also some great cardamom/cinnamon buns, sandwiches and salads. A great variety of places to sit with an amazing outdoor seating at Magasinsgatan, cozy spots inside close to the roastery and also a small hidden backyard. Highly recommended!

Great specialty coffee, roaster, bread maker abd coffee shop. Both establishments are great. The only aspect to improve is they don't have a single copy of their menu in English... who knows why? The coffee and the chocolate were really good and the cardamom bun too EDIT: Hi Clara, thanks for your comment. I obviously asked for English menu and the staff said they don't have. Feel free to tell them where they are

Wonderful place for fantastic artisinal coffee. Great buns too. We liked the food but wasn't super impressed as the poached eggs were a bit overdone. However, it still gets 5 stars overall for everything else being fantastic, love the atmosphere. Dogs welcome also ☺️

We enjoyed our first Swedish fika tradition at de Matteo! The coffee was wonderful and the cardamom bun was delicious! Lots of seating inside and outside. We even bought a bag of coffee beans to take home!

Great fika. The coffees and matchas taste good. Although just lukewarm matcha. No available spoons, when serving Affogato in a small cup on the side of an espresso is a bit frustrating. I asked staff if they’d have an extra spoon, but the answer was that they are all in the dishwasher. No, I found a lot of them outside. Dirty in huge piles on the tables. 🤔 The pastries are tasting good. Even though it feels that a “sourdough cardamom bun” surely also has yeast in it. Sourfaux! A ingredient list could not be provided. Overall not bad, but not more than 4 stars. The atmosphere leaves me a bit speechless. It feels like a a cave and does not look inviting to sit in. Pendant lamps could focus the light and make me wanna sit down. There are huge cues and staff is trying to work great behind the counter. Other workers fill up glas by glas to the water-station. Neglecting the puddles of water spilled around everywhere. No clear return station means that once used glasses end up in a pile directly next to the new ones. To the topic of a return station. I could not find one inside or outside. Wouldn’t that be a great way to make it easier for your staff to manage a busy day? After all we are in sweden and people are happy to help. It was once my favorite. Now it’s just rocked down. Pity.

da Matteo Magasinsgatan is such a lovely spot in Gothenburg! The setting is beautiful and calming — perfect for slowing down and enjoying the moment. The coffee is excellent, and the food was just as impressive. I especially loved the Turkish breakfast and the cardamom bun — absolutely delicious. A wonderful place to relax, enjoy great flavors, and soak in the atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Lovely staff, nice and cozy, very good coffee! I was recommended a delicious pastry. Really loved it!

Where did the delicious salads from 1 year ago go??????? Today’s salad was so sad. Why did you take it away? It was perfect 🥲🥲🥲🥲My quinoa today was like rocks, super raw. I love this place I always come here but the salad now is a scam.
