"Run by husband-and-wife team Ian Paley and Emily Dyson, this multilevel space is stocked with independent designers from all over the globe. While the women's section is home to plenty of international names that are hard to find elsewhere (along with a strong NYC contingent like Rachel Comey and Steven Alan), it's the meticulously edited kids’ selection—Morley tees, Oeuf toys—that's earned the shop praise from locals and visitors alike."

Where to Shop in London: You Could Spend a Lovely Afternoon Wandering This Boutique | Vogue

"From the outside, it looks like a small boutique, but inside a large open plan and grand staircase reveal hundreds of independent labels curated by Emily Dyson. More than twenty years ago, Dyson’s store, Couverture, joined forces with Ian Paley’s menswear brand, The Garbstore, to create three floors of clothing, accessories, and home goods, and the pair have run it ever since, turning it into something of an institution in the “town square” of Notting Hill. Set in a former timber yard Dyson once visited for DIY projects, the shop preserves the original structure; what appears to be a simple shop window opens into a t-shaped space that extends left and right behind neighboring buildings. The mix of old and new reflects Dyson’s eye and her community-minded approach—she buys with specific customers and friends in mind, thinking about what will give people pleasure. Their magazine, Forecast, which comes with online orders, coalesces their global community with Q&As with new designers and Dyson and Paley’s top picks for the season." - Carmen Rosy Hall

Notting Hill’s Garbstore is one of the best-known and best-loved retailers in West London. Since it was founded in 2008, the store has gained a reputation for its broad selection of brands, which covers everything from Brain Dead and Pop Trading Company to Japanese labels such as Kapital and NOMA t.d. As well as its multibrand offering — which also includes womenswear under its The Couverture sister store — Garbstore also stocks an eye-catching range of homeware products and its three in-house labels.

Shopped online at Couveture & the garb and it was lovely, tried 2 knitwear pieces, one I kept and was very pleased with the handmade quality of the item, and the other, which had been too heavy a knit for me, I returned and experienced a swift refund. I also picked up some hair slides which were beautiful quality. My times chatting by email to customer service have been warm and friendly and very helpful. I really like C&G for its unique selection of pieces and shopping there was wonderful.

An amazing range of clothing and jewellery. I was particularly impressed with their customer service. I had an issue with one purchase and it was resolved within 24 hours via email. Really good service and I will definitely buy from there again.

Friendly staff and good selection of products. Staff were fast on communication via email, I hadn’t realised prior to returning in-store that a refund had to be requested via online portal but this was quickly resolved Monday after dropping off the goods in person on Saturday.

Really one of the best places I’ve been In London concerning everything clothes and home objects. the staff are soo friendly, they have a combinatorial of both french style on the top and middle floor for home accessories as well as clothes and Japanese furniture with there own clothing brand down stairs but really an amazing experience visiting this place would definitely recommend.

Was very excited to visit they have a great selection, but left disappointed after browsing for several minutes without any kind of acknowledgement or greeting from store staff. I did notice however they managed to help out customers who were not Black which gave me a lot of pause. Would not encourage any of my friends to shop here and happy to spend my money elsewhere.

I put in a warranty claim which Estelle kindly escalated for me. The communication was great and she was very helpful, I received a great outcome - thanks so much ☺️

Google
What a wonderful shop! In an increasingly homogenised world where one finds the same stores selling the same things in most cities this shop is truly a unique independent find. The term “curated” is frequently overused but in this case it is quite fitting. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Such a lovely experience. Look forward to returning on our next trip to London. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Notting Hill and its aura of manicured money and square buildings maintained to cream perfection. There are so many boutiques servicing this area and for the most part are very very glittery ... -Then there is the boutique " Couverture". This beautiful boutique with its several floors feels like a mix of homely style with good quality, vintage detailing and a dash of quirkiness. All the products feel handpicked and handmade. Products range from children's wear to home pieces. Wooden floors, wooden hangars and wooden vintage furniture mixed with new collections all create a general look - as if from a different era. They also carry lots of labels - Sigerson Morrison "belle" shoes - which I am a big fan of and downstairs is the men's shop called "The Garbstore" with more designer lines. A total united vision - everything looks as if it should be there -and somehow relates - not easy with so many products but done in such a more-ish way

Yelp
I only came across this shop last week, already I think I am a bit obsessed. A mix of men's, women's and children's clothing, shoes and accessories, concept products, toys and furnishings. The pieces featured and the designers are less well known, making them more unique and slightly different to anything else on the market. I love the large, spacious yet homely layout of the shop. However, the prices are Kensington prices, the only cheap thing I found in the shop was a £6 child's ring but when the identical ring is being sold for 50p in my local sweet shop it is not really that cheap at all.

Yelp
If your style is whimsy, girly and with a touch of naivety you will love this shop! I certainly do, it is a little emporium of one of a kind pieces. They have a vast collection of clothing and interior design elements for your home. They also have a super cool kids wear and toys. If you pass by the store I'm sure you will sense all the cool things insde even from the window displays that are sometimes done by well know decorators. The service is amicable, the prices are varied but mostly high end.

Yelp
Tons of labels that are hard to find elsewhere in London, beautifully displayed around an amazing space (two floors with a beautiful skylight). Staff are friendly and happy to help with tons of knowledge on the product. One of my fav shops in London, hands down.
