"Coca Cafe, Lawrenceville by Ashley Fennell. This charming cafe has some of the best breakfast in town. With featured items like pumpkin pancakes and herbed goat cheese stuffed french toast you can’t go wrong. Feel free to bring along some champagne to mix with their hand squeezed juices or whiskey for your coffee as Coca Cafe is BYOB. If the crowd during brunch is too much for you, Coca Cafe also has an amazing lunch and small plates menu later in the day."

I got the breakfast sandwich and a salted caramel latte. Both were very good! The breakfast sandwich was a lot of food and very flavorful. The other people I dined with had an omelette (where one side of it was very salty) and the grilled cheese which she enjoyed. The service was great also!

Google
Another fantastic brunch from here! Worth the wait for sure! Highly recommend coming here for brunch! And to the party of 5 with the attitude there was no need for that it's a holiday weekend so there is gonna be a wait everywhere! No need to bad mouth a place that is packed! Dont like it you could of went elsewhere! I will make a huge recommendation though get the no wait app to reserve a table!

Google
What a terrific find! This is such a charming little restaurant. I love how it is doing the right thing without being pretentious about it. The menu is seasonal and locally sourced. The food is so tasty, you're going to want to come back at least twice a season to see what's on offer. We started with the donut holes. Why would we start with the donut holes? Because they're on the appetizer list. And they belong there. Imagine cutting into a crispy, crunchy, chocolate donut hole dusted with confectioners sugar and then swooshing it through a perfectly wonderful caramel sauce and popping it in your mouth. Yes, yes! This is the way to start your weekend. Combine that with a lovely little brunch cocktail and I think you're on your way to Happy Town. My friend had the Crab Risotto with kale and corn. It was topped with two obviously local, fresh sunny side up eggs. (You can always tell by the rich color of the yolk.) The eggs were cooked expertly and when cut into added to the wonderful creaminess of the risotto. It was creamy without being heavy. the drizzle of balsamic vinegar gave it the wonderful light note. I had a variation on the Eggs Benedict. The Lemon Dill Hollandaise sauce is an incredible recipe. Whoever the chef is that created this is a genius. Eggs are hard to poach. These were poached almost to perfection. To be absolutely fair, personal taste does play a role here. My eggs just had a hint of runniness. I prefer my poached eggs to be removed almost exactly as the yolk sets. It didn't change the fact that this is a delightful way to begin a day. The version I ordered came topped with some chorizo, incredible maple bacon, charred tomatoes. I opted for the side salad which was absolutely the right choice. The brightness of the vinaigrette dressing helped offset what could potentially have been a little heavy. (As nice as those breakfast potatoes looked, I didn't need them.) We left the restaurant feeling light, energetic, and happy. We are excited to return and try new things before the summer ends. The summer menu just is incredible. We look forward to returning again in the fall to see what's on the new menu. This is a Black friendly restaurant. There were no microaggressions. The staff seemed genuinely excited to see us. And the service was excellent.

Google
It's a cool place inside. My vanilla latte tasted good. I had the avocado omelet which was average. The iced latte is thick and almost undrinkable. Huevos ranchos on grits were not very good. The service was good. But overall, the food and drinks are not worth the price.

Google
I've been hear a few times and Coca Cafe has always underwhelmed me. While the food is tasty, the menu doesn't offer a lot of options and their brunch options are overcrowded with too many hashes - I wished for a bit more diversity. The brunch cocktails are delicious however, even if they take a very long time to arrive. When the weather is nice, I suggest sitting outside since the inside of the cafe lacks a welcoming atmosphere and the chairs are quite uncomfortable.

Google
I enjoy trying local spots when I visit new places. As a vegan, I look for restaurants that have thoughtful menu options for us, not just “hold the cheese.” Coca Café fits that bill. I had the tofu scramble with avocado mash and breakfast potatoes. It was flavorful and filling! The coffee is strong and your cup never empties. They also have fresh juices that you can add alcohol to. I had an orange/carrot/basil blend with vodka and it was so good! I would definitely come back next time I’m in Pittsburgh.

Google
Went for the first time during off hours on weekday, and it was fantastic. I had the avocado omelet, and it was awesome. Amazing food, huge portions, great service, and nice atmosphere. Definitely would go back again!

Google
Great brunch food! Weekends are super busy so I usually only go on the occasional weekday, when it's much emptier.

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday around 12 pm and my party of two was seated immediately! There was no parking lot either, so we street parked right in front of the restaurant. Our server was so kind and attentive, we ordered fast and received our food fast. The waffle was delicious and sweet with a lot of fruit and the omelette was cooked well with a side salad and toast. the restaurant had a lot of decorations and artwork, always something new to look at :)

J K.

Yelp
The food was great. I had the Nutella pancakes, home fries and Espresso martini with Tequila! The service was ok. The servers check in on you constantly. Our food came out pretty quickly but items were missing and those items missing took TIME before we received them. The ambiance is setup like an eclectic coffee shop. I would recommend removing the condiment caddies though the tables aren't that big for all the extra room they are taking up.

Michael S.

Yelp
This place is awesome !! Get there early. Honestly in the first 30 they open because you will be waiting for a spot. Inside is small, but I love the set up. It's giving gentrified ecliptic coffee shop vibes. Every waitress I've had has been super friendly and helpful Food is bomb. There breakfast potatoes are seasoned so well with a good crisp to soft ratio. Eggs Benedict are cooked perfectly each time and the pancakes are fluffy and sweet. The pistachio pancake is a must order.

Anna L.

Yelp
Yummy! This place always hits the spot. The eggs Benedict are loaded and the eggs are perfectly cooked. Our server was great and the ambience is very cute inside. It is a little cramped and if you go on a weekend, expect a wait, but overall a great spot for a yummy brunch. The iced mocha is fantastic!!

Kristine S.

Yelp
Adorable little spot with good food and friendly service. We went for brunch and enjoyed mimosas and bloody Marys. My omelette was delish and my husband got the burger and loved it. Can't wait to go back soon.

Yelp
We came here for brunch a few Sundays ago. They do not accept reservations, but they have a waitlist and will let you know via text message where you are in line and estimated wait. We got here a little after 2pm. It was intended, I thought maybe by then it would not be too busy. I. Was. Wrong. The gal who checked us in told us we have 4 people in front of you and we close at 3pm. It was packed and very loud, more on that later. We accepted the challenge and got on the wait list. To kill time, we strolled the streets of Lawrenceville in the rain. When we got back to the restaurant we were quickly seated and given two water glasses and no water. We looked at the menu while we waited so I knew what I was ordering. The server came to our table quickly and I ordered an espresso martini and the VEGETARIAN CHORIZO CUBANO, no cheese. It came with fries or a side salad, I opted for the salad with their house made champagne vinaigrette. My drink was delivered very quickly, it was decent. The noise in this place was so loud you would have thought you were at a bar watching the Steelers win a super bowl. I mean so loud, I could not hear my husband or anything else for that matter. Apparently, it was one of the employees last day of service so they were celebrating like they won the lotto. IDK maybe they did. But for such a small place it was way too loud. Our food came out almost as quickly as my drink, but we had no water and no silverware. I asked (more like yelled) when a server passed to ask for water and silverware. Silverware came but no water. We saw the one server give another server a carafe and that server gave it to another table. So, I waited a little bit longer to see the server again and asked again for water, he apologized, and we finally got water. So, the standouts the dressing was delicious. I immediately wanted to buy it. Very good, highly recommended. The sandwich was ok. The bread was soft and the I liked the addition of the mushrooms, but I am pretty sure the chorizo was just the morning star brands with mushrooms added. I appreciate there being vegan/vegetarian options, but I would have really liked something a little more homemade. Could have used scrambled tofu with a spicy red pepper sauce or soy crumbles and made their own sauce. If that wasn't Morning Star, I would be shocked. Overall, a nice place, I would come back especially with a little less rowdiness and maybe get a salad with the delicious dressing.

Ashley W.

Yelp
Love the Ambiance of this diner. Food never disappoints. This is my 3rd time here. I try to choose something different each time I come. We opted for items that were classics. Can never go wrong with a classic breakfast. Service is also pretty quick. The staff were great! Will be back again!

Yelp
The Nook is a fun spot for anyone visiting the Strip District in Pittsburgh, me and my party thoroughly enjoyed our breakfasts in addition to the warm lively atmosphere and friendly staff to pair along with it. This has most certainly been added to the list of go to spots in Pittsburgh for me and my family!

Leslie H.

Yelp
What a delightful spot for brunch! Not only were the service and food excellent, we were treated to a couple getting engaged while we were there for lunch on a Sunday. We had to wait 45 minutes for a table, but it was worth it. The falafel salad (sans feta) was really good--I would order that again in a heartbeat. Judging by the minimal amount left on her plate, my colleague seemed to enjoy her veggie omelet (sand peppers) with a salad and hearty wheat toast.

Rosa R.

Yelp
My friends and I enjoyed our visit to The Nook! We had about a 25-30 minute wait, but there was also 5 of us so we had to wait for the bigger tables to open. There were so many different food options and it was hard to pick if I wanted sweet or savory for our brunch. I ended going with sweet - raspberry French toast! The bread was covered in corn flakes, which was delicious, but the main star was the raspberry cream cheese! It was listed on the menu as a The Nook Favorite, but our waiter also said it was his favorite too, so it seemed like a popular one. I wasn't prepared for how tight it was on the inside, tables are very close together and we were impressed how the staff moved through the space, especially when holding so many plates! I would come back and try something else. Everything looked delicious!

Chris C.

Yelp
Might be top 3 brunch places here on par with De Lucas. Had my first expresso martini here : D YOMCH! Split a eggs benny & pistachio waffle with my buddy Juju & both were phenomenal. Big fan of the pistachio, don't really see that at much places. Food took some time to get out but was worth it when it did, service is fun, the interior is fun lookin & lively. The street has some great r2 places for dessert & cool things to look around. ALSO SEUNGJU CAME OUT TODAY !!!! YAYYYY Mr. Sleeper Sexy Build (heart eyes)!!! And then me & justin walked around for the cookie tour in the neighborhood which was fun : D

Yelp
Came in for brunch around 10:30 on a Saturday morning. Our wait time for a table was quoted at 30-45 mins, but we only waited about 15-20. The space is small and our table was surrounded by other tables about a foot apart. Service was great. The server was friendly and prompt to take our orders and keep our coffees full. The coffee was nothing crazy, but was perfect to warm up from the snowy cold. I ordered the breakkie waffle and after the first bite I was sure I didn't regret my decision. The waffle had the perfect crisp on the outside and the ham and cheese combo sandwiched in the middle went well with the two over easy eggs on top. I opted for the side salad over the home fries and the vinaigrette and tomatoes were fresh and bright in flavor. I saw several plates go by with pancakes and french toast topped with fruit and nutella and made a mental note to try that next time. They have one unisex bathroom located right in the dining area. It was small, but clean. If you're looking for a homey breakfast spot on the corner of Butler with a loud, but friendly ambiance, this is for you.

Tatyana F.

Yelp
Let me start with the positives: the staff are super nice. They are fast, cool, very friendly and yet professional. The place itself is very hipster. Food: great eggs Benedict and OMG those pancakes are amazing. You will definitely polish your plates. But! You need some work on the challah french toast. Mine was so dry even butter and syrup couldn't save it. Good coffee and hot chocolate, thanks for that.

Kaylee K.

Yelp
Delicious menu! Have been for lunch and brunch, eggs Benedict was so savory and sweet at the same time, I would so recommend! Waffles were fluffy, and side salad in place of the potatoes was fresh and tasty. Coffee is rich and strong without being too over powerful, and you can purchase a bag in house. Service was fast and food came out quick. Tiny tables makes the space cozy, but welcoming.

Julia B.

Yelp
The Nook is a cute little breakfast spot right in the heart of Lawrenceville. They are best known for their variations on a classic eggs benedict - my favorites are the florentine & the mexican. On nice days, the outdoor back patio is the best place to sit (the inside can feel a little crowded). The Nook also has a good drink menu, featuring creative mimosas & a full coffee counter. The only downside is that there is often a long wait if you arrive later in the morning (even at 10:00 there was a 30 minute wait for a table!), so either get there early or prepare for a wait. Once seated, however, service is pretty quick! I would recommend this spot for a casual breakfast. Food: B+ Drinks: B+ Service: B Ambiance: B-

Meredith A.

Yelp
What a cute little spot to grab a quick bite for brunch. Although I've seen it rookie post that there was a wait, my friend and I went after yoga a Phipps on a Saturday morning, and we were seated right away. We had the fluffy pistachio paste pancakes, lattes, and the Southern Eggs Benedict. Everything was delicious, and they should really consider bottling that pistachio paste! Prices were fair, too.

Becky M.

Yelp
The food here was great- the pancakes were so fluffy and tasted like funnel cakes. The home fries were also a hit! The service was good and the food came out quickly, especially given how busy they were. Cute vibes and a good place for breakfast all round!

Kaylee L.

Yelp
One of the best places to get brunch in the Burgh. Huge menu with cool different twists. Something for everyone. And the standard breakfast food is elevated. This time I had the French toast with bananas and strawberries. Obsessed with the whipped cream-you can tell they make it there. Not overly sweet like some places. I don't remember my husband's order but the pancakes that came on the side were an entire meal in themselves. We will be back soon!

Darren B.

Yelp
This might be the best breakfast in Pittsburgh! Seriously, we dine out often and this was our first time at Nook. Not too sure why, maybe because it always looked so busy? Anyways, it was only a 25 minute wait on a Saturday at 11am. Una is close by (plant/occult shop & amazing body butter) if you have to wait. Now back to The Nook: It is everything and more. Diner vibes with awesome staff. From the host to waiter/food runners, everyone was so friendly. The food was a 10/10. We had an omelette, egg Benedict, and the green thing(pancakes with pistachio paste)! The pancakes are undeniably the best I've ever had in my life. They are light, fluffy, doughy, it's honestly indescribable! They were so good we ubered two orders the next morning lol! The coffee was very good (not always the case) and the London fog was a 10/10! I highly recommend and this will be a staple for us moving forward!l

Nicole N.

Yelp
Food: 3/5 eggs Benedict had hard yolks food was average Service: excellent we even brought out two kids both under 3 and they were still super kind. Ambiance: 4.5/5 only reason -.5 is because it was SO hot inside.

Christina N.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped here for brunch one Saturday since we live fairly close. There was a 40 minute wait which was very understandable considering the name "the nook" it is a small location! We walked around for a while and ventured to Brooklyn Bagels for a coffee while we were waiting. This is a very small intimate setting, tables are close so if that is not your vibe this is not the place for you! We have young children so we're used to not having a ton of room! Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We both ordered omelettes, my husband ordered a meat lovers one and i ordered a build your own style. The omelettes were huge! And everything inside was cooked to perfection. The home fries were also delicious and crispy. I also ordered the corn fritters for the table and they were delicious! Spicy, cheesy, and the dip that came with them was a perfect compliment to the potatoes. I also had a lavender tea that was served hot and extremely aromatic. Overall a great experience especially on a nice day In Lawrenceville where you can easily stroll around while you are waiting for your table to become available.

Evan F.

Yelp
Both our girls went to the University of Pittsburgh, so we've been coming to the city for seven (plus) years now...and we FINALLY found our favorite breakfast / brunch spot!!! On a recent weekend, a group of six of us met up at this cute little space, where we were immediately seated in a corner booth for just for us! The staff here is incredibly gregarious and friendly, clearly enjoying each other and the work they were doing. Everybody ordered their favorite coffee, tea and cocktail choices and we got heads down into the menu. Soooo many choices, so little time. I think all of us ordered unique dishes, so we had lots to sample from. Favorites included the eggs benedicts (the Florentine and Mexican versions were the best, IMO), challah French toast and Nutella pancakes. Also, cannot forget to shout out those breakfast potatoes...so crispy outside and pillowy inside with a great seasoning and crunch to them. No one left the table hungry...only thig better would have been a pillow and blankey to lay down and nap from the food come we were all in. Only a few more months of schooling left for daughter number two, so we cannot wait to get back to town and sample from this menu once again!

Angie C.

Yelp
This is a really good little breakfast/brunch spot. It's in a convenient part of Lawrenceville where I have often found parking nearby, which is no small feat. The inside is larger than you would think, with a second room of seating behind the first room where you enter, but also not quite as large as they need during peak times -- for example, today, I saw a larger party come in and turn around to leave when there wasn't enough room to immediately accommodate them. Service is super friendly and food comes up quick for how crowded it can get here. It is adorably and eclectically decorated with little paper hot air balloons, butterflies and vinyl records along the front of the barista bar. Very Instagrammable, including the interactive hot air balloon mural on the side of the building. As for the food, there are so many delicious options here. They are known for their many varieties of eggs Benedict. I like to get the Eggs-uberance, which comes with two eggs any way, breakfast potatoes, your choice of breakfast meat and two deliciously fluffy pancakes. The pancakes come with a little dollops of fresh whipped cream that make them like dessert, and this dish overall perfectly satisfies any issue you might have with choosing between sweet and savory options. You're also going to take at least half of it home because it's an incredible amount of food, no matter how hungry you think you are. I really appreciate that they have veggie chorizo on the menu as a vegetarian/vegan protein option. They have a nice selection of cocktails, coffees and, on a wintery day like today in particular, I can't pass up the decadent hot chocolate with Nutella. Lots of sweet options on the menu, too, like fancy pancakes and waffles, though I am more of a savory breakfast person. There is something for everyone in your party here and the cost is reasonable, with a typical breakfast running between $12 and $15.

Brianna G.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious brunch!!! We had a 45 minute wait on a Sunday morning, which I thought was not too bad for a place that doesn't take reservations on the weekends! I had the pineapple mimosa which was delicious! The raspberry French toast was calling my name and absolutely delivered. SO good and would highly recommend. Also cannot recommend the home fries enough. They are seasoned so well and perfectly crisp. You have to check this place out, the menu is huge and has something for everyone whether you want sweet or savory, or breakfast or lunch!

Michelle Z.

Yelp
Cute brunch spot in Lawrenceville! This place has a really fun colorful interior, and the food is really tasty as well. Lots of classic American brunch options. It's pretty popular so there's usually a long wait on popular brunch days so just be prepared for that. But there are tons of shops and streets to walk around while you wait! My only gripe is that the portions are pretty small for the price -- the benedict plate I got was mostly side potatoes.

Steve L.

Yelp
Got there around 11 on a Thursday morning. Had a roughly 25 minute wait, but the weather was great and we were able to wait outside. The staff was friendly and accommodating considering we had 3 adults and 2 children (one being a baby). The food: delightful!! I got the eggs, sausage and potatoes. Those potatoes may have been the best home fries I've had. Also got pancakes which I was not expecting to be so thick, but wow they were great. We'll be back next time we're in Pittsburgh!

Shiloh S.

Yelp
Went to The Nook for my birthday and had such a good breakfast! We had a 30 minute wait for 2 on a Saturday morning (which is no big deal, bop around Butler street if you gotta!) and got a text when our table was ready, and when we were sat down the service was quick and really friendly. We got the classic benedict, pancake trio, and the waffles with pistachio paste. The crispy potatoes were really good, I thought the classic eggs Benedict were perfectly standard. Not my go to - but good if that's your jam. I'd be interested to try one of the other eggs Benedict dishes on the menu. We added bacon which was the only disappointment as it was floppy and not worth the upcharge. The pancakes were my fave! They're perfectly fluffy and huge. I ditched the salted caramel and went with the maple syrup and was happy as a clam. The waffle was also fluffy and delicious. This was my first time trying pistachio paste and it was really really sweet, definitely didn't need to add any syrup or anything. The bananas went really well with it. The space was lively with people talking and enjoying their meals which felt really nice. I'd love to come back.

Sara K.

Yelp
Wow! I was searching for somewhere with a pork eggs Benedict on their menu and I found this restaurant with a few different options for eggs Benedict so we went for it! It did not disappoint. The home fries were seasoned well and perfectly crisp where we didn't even need any ketchup, hot sauce or etc to dip them in. The eggs were perfectly poached on the Benedict and the pork was tender and flavorful. The meat lovers omelette was packed with meat and had perfectly melted cheese on it as well! We had a vanilla latte and sweet tea to drink and both of those were also exceptional. I will definitely be back here.

Tabitha W.

Yelp
I can see why The Nook is so popular! If you go on a Saturday morning, be ready to put your name in and have a bit of a wait for the table. But, there's so many fun boutiques in Lawrenceville it's easy to stay entertained while you wait. We were seated in about 45 minutes, but once we were at our table the staff quickly got our drink orders which I feel like we got back before I even got a menu! They have extensive coffee and boozy brunch options that fit everyone in the group. I had the southern Benedict and it was absolutely delicious. They had savory and sweet, heavy and light breakfast options so I would definitely recommend for an indecisive group. It's a bright, lively space that's a perfect, bustling spot for your weekend brunch!

Julia C.

Yelp
Wonderful time enjoying breakfast to go from the nook! The restaurant had nice decor and lots of lighting. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond with their service. Despite ordering to go, they showed us to a table where we were able to wait. They also gave us water and checked in on us. Someone in our party forgot to request no cheese on their sandwich and told the staff later and they were kind enough to remake the sandwich! Truly outstanding service. The breakfast sandwich and French fries were very delicious! This is a great spot for breakfast.

Carly L.

Yelp
As a party of 6 we dined at The Nook on Mother's Day. We were seated shortly after all arriving. The was a 10/10 experience. As stated in the name it is a small location but the ambience is so cool. So cooly decorated. We ordered brunch and had a variety of things from the menu. I ordered the Bbq Pulled Pork Waffle and home fries. This was a really good sandwich and I really liked the home fries. Crunch my and nicely seasoned. I also had the espresso martini. It was very strong but made with very nice espresso. Can't wait to eat here again

Desiree H.

Yelp
Cute coffee shop with tons of art on the wall. We ordered a mocha café with a shot of caramel and an eggs Benedict. It was okay, nothing that made me salivate. The ambience was the most interesting thing.

Emily E.

Yelp
I very rarely venture into the city. I can say hands down this was one of the best brunches I have ever had.

Matthew M.

Yelp
Food: I had a burger that really hit the spot in that moment. French fries were mid but the quality of the burger made up for it Drinks: Solid lineup of different cocktails that they offer for brunch Service: I had excellent service. Quick and accommodating. Ambiance: Cool little place in Lawrenceville with a great vibe as a whole. Overall: I will be back for sure. A great place to meet up with friends or stop after an overnight shift.

Gloria W.

Yelp
I got the Mixed Berries Pancakes and they were SO fluffy and delicious. I also ordered a latte with lavender and definitely enjoyed their espresso. I went with a party of five and had about a 40 minute wait on Saturday around 11am. The wait staff were polite and the wait for our food was only ~15-20 minutes. The restaurant itself was so cute, and I loved the art hanging from the walls.

Yasmine L.

Yelp
The food was so good. The best french toast i've ever had. It was perfect. Good service waiter recommend the french toast. Super cute restaurant overall great experience

Renee L.

Yelp
I got the chicken and waffles and it was sooooo good. I'm personally more of a pancake person but the waffles were airy and crispy so it different than other waffles I've had. The chicken was nice and crunchy and not super dry. The potatoes were also crunchy and soft on the inside. This place had really nice decorations and was colorful but not too overwhelming. I saw some positive reviews and this was the first time my friends and I went here. The service was great but we did have to wait a bit for our food since it was a bit busy. Regardless, we were super glad we tried this place out!

Tiffany T.

Yelp
I didn't know I needed Nutella hot chocolate in my life until I went here. I attempted coming here on a weekend and it was absolutely packed and I didn't want to wait so I came back on a weekday and it was much less crowded. The service was so friendly, sweet, and attentive. The Benedicts were delicious although the poached eggs were not runny. I love that they had veggie chorizo as an option!

Carrie C.

Yelp
I would say this place just met our expectations. It's a cozy spot and the service is top notch. The eggs were undercooked on the Benedict and the sauce was overly vinegary.

Halie G.

Yelp
The Nook in Lawrenceville is amazing. They do not take reservation so be sure to get there early or be prepared to wait a little. They serve amazing breakfast and lunch options! For the chicken and waffles with a side of fruit and absolutely loved it!

Anna S.

Yelp
After a speedy 24 hours in Pittsburgh, I stopped at The Nook for breakfast before my flight. It was a quick walk from my hotel in a cute, hip neighborhood. The inside is tiny but homey and had plenty of people grabbing breakfast on Sunday morning. I got a table right away and the service was fast. I ordered the breakfast platter with turkey sausage, scrambled eggs, home fries, and gluten free toast. I also got the lavender latte and a mimosa. The gluten free toast was surprisingly very good! The server was nice enough to also make sure I was OK with the fact that the home fries were not technically gluten free since they shared a fryer with other food. I really appreciated that extra precaution for my celiac fam out there (I feel for ya'll). I cleaned my plate pretty quickly and sipped on my delish mimosa. I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone looking for breakfast in Pittsburgh! I saw quite a few tables with some amazing looking waffles too so maybe give that a try if that's up your alley.

Rosalie W.

Yelp
Adorable little breakfast/brunch spot with a great menu and reasonable prices! I ordered the green thing pancakes (pancakes with banana and a pistachio sauce which definitely had a white chocolate base) and they were tasty, filling and it too sweet. I added a side of scrambled eggs which were great but definitely not needed because the pancakes were very filling I also got a latte (just regular without flavor) and it was so good! I would definitely come back and try another pancake/French toast/waffle option.

Liz G.

Yelp
I love the Nook! I've been a few times & it's always delicious. Definitely busy on the weekends so jump on the waitlist or get there early if you can. My most recent visit was during the week and I was seated immediately. I got the bananas froster pancakes with a side of bacon. Those pancakes were so good, I'm still thinking about them. They're not like regular pancakes, they're thick and fluffy and delightful. Always a good brunch spot, especially if you're looking for somewhere boozy!

Trish T.

Yelp
Solid breakfast the other day here at The Nook. We had a bit of trouble as we seriously pined for Coca Cafe - which occupied this lovely space originally. But this is a respectable replacement. Kept the kitschy, eclectic interior only a little less vintage fun. Service was fast & efficient. My husband had a fantastic waffle - perfect outer crunch/inner moist/vanilla tastiness - topped with fresh strawberries & Nutella. The decadent fresh whipped cream was a bit too much for me - but my husband LOVED it. My dish was pretty boring in comparison: the breakfast sandwich. The overall flavor was good - tho the 2 tiny pieces of bacon looked so sad on top of the scrambled egg & havarti! The ciabatta they used for the sandwich was quite fresh - but too much bread for me. I removed the bottom piece. The home fries were quite good - perfectly spiced. They were more like totts that home fries, IMO - as I normally think of the latter as having onions &/or peppers. ‍ No special beverages. All in all - a good breakfast. We'll be back. Love that lower part of Lawrenceville.

Yelp
Great food and service at this restaurant! Got some work done here early in the morning before the breakfast rush came in!

Yelp
Love finding new breakfast/brunch spots in Pittsburgh and this is a favorite! The inside is small but cozy and the staff are all really nice and attentive. The menu has an excellent variety of both sweet and savory items; we got the waffle eggs Benedict and the Nutella pancakes (which were unbelievably thick and fluffy). The cocktails are delicious too. We tried the pineapple mimosa and espresso martini. Definitely better to go earlier in the morning than later because this place gets packed and wait times are sometimes long.

Yelp
Great food! Great service and a cool vibe. The pancakes were a treat and the coffee just kept flowing. A must stop for breakfast when we are around the Strip District. Affordably priced too!

Yelp
Really cool vibe, and it translates into cool food too. Delicious coffees and great waffles and benedicts. I wish they had real maple syrup!
