We came here by the recommendation of the neighing shop. However, our experience was magnificent. I can easily say this is one of the best pizza places in Rome. The surface was absolutely good. The ambience and the decoration was also one point thanks to the staff for their great services. We tried the salad Parmesan pizza

Totally overrated. Little tables, little to no service and honestly not so tasty “ice creams” with huge prices. A great tourist trap tho. There are much better places to sit and enjoy a food or drink in that square. Cheers

Good coffee, with the option to sit inside without paying extra for table service. Breakfast for four, including cappuccinos and croissants, was just €12. Excellent value! The croissants were fresh and delicious. Highly recommended, just a short walk from Via del Corso.

The best place to get a quick coffee and pastries. The coffees were fantastic tasting and very cheap 2.1 euros. The best part was the service was the 2 lovely ladies one serving and the other is the barista. Very patient and happy service even knowing we were non-local tourists. After going there twice they remembered my coffee order. Thankyou! They are very busy all the time. Make sure you head around to the side entrance in the laneway and order from the coffee counter. See my photo. Enjoy.

Best Caccio e Peppe of my life. Waiter recommended it and this is above any of the top recommended I have tried in Ny. Freshly made very saucy and cheesey. Terrace is nice and heaters helped during winter. Price super affordable.

During my recent visit to Ciampini in Roma, I experienced one of the most delightful happy hours I’ve ever had. Nestled in a prime location that perfectly blends the charm of historic Rome with a tranquil ambiance, Ciampini offers an experience that is both elegant and relaxed. The food was exceptional—every dish was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality and tradition. From the exquisite appetizers to the delightful desserts, each bite was a celebration of authentic Italian flavors. The menu is thoughtfully curated, ensuring there’s something to satisfy every palate. The staff at Ciampini are nothing short of professional. They are attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable without being overbearing, and above all, they exude genuine warmth and hospitality. It’s clear that they take great pride in their work, which only enhances the overall experience. Ciampini’s position is another major highlight. Whether you’re seated indoors or on their picturesque terrace, you’re treated to stunning views that capture the essence of Rome. It’s the perfect spot to unwind, enjoy great food, and soak in the beauty of the city. In summary, Ciampini in Roma offers a happy hour that goes beyond the ordinary. With superb food, outstanding service, and a prime location, it’s a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the best of Roman hospitality.

Loved it! Had an aperitivo and a scoop of ice cream. We also ordered an addition of prosciutto and melon. Everything was great and arrived quickly. The ice cream was pistachio and maroons ♥️

We went to this place to have a cup of cappuccino and some biscuits. The cappuccino was so good. Sadly, in Italy most cafes don't sell their beans. The biscuits, however, were below average, in my opinion. However, the coffee is worth the trip. The waiters were extra nice and the atmosphere delightful.

Yelp
Ciampini is perfectly central and serves delicious food. Plenty of outdoor seating and a great wine selection. Dinner is a bit better than lunch, but both are great. Their pesto pasta is some of the best I've tried and chestnut gelato is absolutely heavenly. Service is good; we had two different waiters and both stayed professional. Ciampini might cater to tourists, but the food quality remains top notch. Seats are comfortable and there's plenty of space away from the crowds.

Yelp
The absolute best Gelato in all of Rome. We tried multiple different spots throughout Italy and this one by far exceeded in taste & quality compared to all other gelatos!

Rachel L.

Yelp
honestlyy pretty disappointed by this place! I had high hopes since I had heard great things from locals about this shop for their gelato but I wouldn't recommend it. the coffee gelato in particular was so soft it was almost liquid-y/soup-like and they didn't make any effort to jazz it up with the presentation like some of the other places we went to. the flavor tasted pretty artificial as well but maybe the other flavors are better

Yelp
Here because we had an absolutely lovely waiter, who despite our terrible Italian, managed to serve us an absolutely immaculate non-alcoholic fruit drink. Which my mother and I have been thinking of since we've left. We have no idea what was inside, honestly speaking we don't think it was on the menu either but if you are ever near by, show them this photo and maybe they could give you a taste of whatever this goodness is. We also loved the platter our waiter recommended us, i don't know what they put in their olive oil, but I've never had anything so dang fresh and well seasoned before. Where ever our waiter is, we love you, and we appreciate you!

Yelp
Caffè Ciampini has an amazing atmosphere and is great for people watching. Our carbonara and pizza were only so-so, but the gelato was the best we had on the entire trip. Before we left for Italy I read articles on how to find the best gelato. The articles stated to find spots that stored their gelato in stainless steel tubs with covers in order to protect the quality. This is what you will find at Ciampini, and they definitely don't disappoint! The views don't hurt either My rating is for the gelato. My advice: skip the entrees and just go for the gelato!

Yelp
This was my favorite place to get gelato. My wife and I stayed in Piazza San Lorenzo, and we must have stopped here for ice cream at least once a day. 2.50€ for a small 2 scoop cup of gelato. What a deal! I did not find a favor that I did not like. Bravo! Update to prior review: we had dinner at Ciampini on our last night in Rome, and we had an amazing salad and Pizza Napoli. We will revisit when in Rome. Server didn't speak much English and the menu was all in Italian, but this being my 10th night, I got to practice my Italian. Fun! And I stopped to have more gelato after a nice walk down to Tiber River. Chestnut and melon gelato was awesome.

Yelp
Great setup, charming interior but horrible service. Absolutely horrible. Many waiters not serving customers unless asked directly for assistance.

Yelp
What a view. After a stroll through the Villa Borgessi park we were walking down the hill towards Spanish steps when we came across this great Resturant. I had cod fish asparagus risotto. Wow. And espresso and a fantastic cheese cake. But go for the authentic roof top view of old Rome. It's priceless.

Yelp
Amazing caprese salad best we had in all of Italy well worth the 15.50. Would definitely go back if I'm in the area. Friendly service and good food

Yelp
Caffè Ciampini has amazing coffee. We have tasted espresso and cappuccinos all over Rome, but Caffè Ciampini had the best yet. We came in on a gray and dizzily day, and had comfortable seats by a window to leisurely drink our coffee and watch people pass by.

Yelp
I'm a bit torn about the gelato here. I tried the sour cherry but didn't quite like it enough to get, and then I just decided that I'll get coffee and strawberry. The coffee, which I had first, was very very good. The coffee flavor is so roasty and strong, it was delicious. It was also quite creamy and thick. The strawberry wasn't as good; it tasted borderline artificial. The sour cherry had actual pieces of cherry in it, but it wasn't sour and for whatever reason the cherry flavor wasn't really there. This gelato place really gets a solid 3.5 stars; pricing is about the same as everywhere else at €2.50 for a small. I'm giving it 3 stars because I don't think I'll be back and I would recommend other gelato places, but the coffee gelato was delicious!

Yelp
Nice cafe in a touristy Piazza San Lorenzo. They serve gelato in the back and the consistency is just as silky and creamy as Gelateria Vice, which is another popular choice for gelato. I prefer Ciampini gelato better to Giolitti, which is overhyped. If you're willing to travel outside centro, Fatamorgana, La Romana and gelateria Vice are the favorites followed by Teatro near Piazza Navona. I was told to try the Marron Glace, which was ok, not my flavor, but the Nocciola (Hazelnut) didn't disappoint. The texture of their gelato is the key and it's light creamy not too dense, so pick any flavor you like.

Yelp
Ok, so lets get this out of the way - its between the parliament and the Louis Vuitton store - aint gonna be cheap. Its primo people watching location. I mean it. Just kick back with gelato or coffee and the place is a virtual catwalk ! Oh and did I say the gelato was good ?

Diane G.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and food This is a great find. The food was very good with a nice variety of choices. Atmosphere is very nice, outside eating area is on a lovely piazza. Definitely would return!

Yelp
MMMMM CHE BUON GELATO! I've been coming here for 4 years (used to come here embarrassingly often as I worked in the vicinity-- gelato is an acceptable lunch, right?). I've never sat down always just had a gelato on the go- prices are steep- but the product is so damn good. There's a small selection of flavors (compared to a super store like La Palma) but they are all done well. My favorites are cocco, frutti di bosco, yogurt, pistacchio. Conveniently located a stone's throw from Via del Corso, the Ara Pacis, Pantheon. I can arrive at all of these places while still eating my gelato.

Yelp
On recommendation of our Bed and Breakfast, we popped in here to refuel on our first day in Rome. First had a fresh juice and cafe espresso, with a pizza romana consumed in the roman style standing at the counter. Very tasty. You can sit outside on the tables in the piazza if you prefer. We then had a triple flavour cone for 3.50 euro. Lemone was stunning, as was Nocciela Marron Glace was good, but a bit sweet. One of the better gelateria in Rome.

Yelp
First meal ever in Rome and it was delicious. The mozzarella and prosciutto was fresh and yummy, especially enhanced by the table olive oil. Pasta all Norma had a wonderful flavor that Was punctuated by fresh mint. What a nice surprise. Once you get the attention of the staff they are lovely.

Yelp
I have to start this out with the price. It's quite high. I had the address from a CNN article. Stopped by mainly to sit down for a while (the mrs was complaining about her feet or something) and eat something. Ice cream was our first idea, I went inside to look at pastries and savory snacks, but found them unattractive, so ice cream it was. Some of the options on the menu were unavailable, so we had to take what was available. We particularly liked the marron glace' ice cream, really full of marron glace' pieces. Other flavors good, but not excellent. Most importantly -- Price is high, as might be expected to sit in a nice piazza right in the center of Rome (9.50 Euro for a cup with 3 flavors). They could at least offer a glass of ice water, as it was customary in Italy some years ago with ice cream.

Yelp
Loved their Gelato, very high quality and not watered down. We were recommended here by some locals. Looks a little fancier than the other gelato places that we visited in Roma. I think they also serve lunch, we had dinner and drinks here as well and that was pretty good too.

Liam L.

Yelp
Surly waiter, over priced, average quality. This restaurant has no redeeming factors and represents poor value. We ordered gnocchi and pasta with water. The waiter was impatient and in bad form on the evening of our visit. The table was poorly laid and not very clean. The food was fine, but overpriced at around €35.

Tina J.

Yelp
Very good, and substantial selection. Different fare from the typical Italian restaurant.

Shelena S.

Yelp
Had a delicious stracciatella and mango ice cream in a cone! Best icecream I've ever had - super creamy and no little annoying bits of ice. Shame we only sound this gem on the last day

Shelly H.

Yelp
We took an evening stroll around the Spanish Steps and happened upon this place for a glass of wine. We ended up having the amazing Pasta Cici e pepe, pizza margarita and cafe lattes. They gave us the most amazing creme puffs as a treat. A full meatless meal and we were happy as clams. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. This is our new must visit spot in Rome.

Yelp
Great lunch place in a very centrally located piazza where you can find the eponymous church, as well as posh shops -- Bottega Veneta, Teichner, Profumeria Materozzoli, Nespresso, Pomellato and Louis Vuitton. Sandwiches are better than most you find in the center. Ciampini also serves some of the best ice cream in the neighborhood. However, be forewarned that you may end up paying a small fortune because of the location. The smallest serving of ice cream (not the mini-cones) costs 2.50 euros! Sandwiches are a bit more reasonable at around 3.50 euros. You should be able to buy a sandwich, small bottle of water and espresso for just over 5 euros.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I popped in here for a quick bite to each. I had a smoked salmon sandwich with dill and he had a croissant. We took our food at the bar, which was empty and clearly not the preference of the staff there. But hey, it saved us money and did the job of filling us up! Our experience wasn't the traditional one of sitting for a proper meal, but the overall vibe of this place was a little touristy, although their outdoor area did look quite lovey, and was conveniently located near the Spanish Steps.

Yelp
Ciampini is a wonderful cafe', with a real Italian spirit to it.Its location is very central, in the middle of a beautiful piazza with lots of designer shops to check out.Their gelato , ice cream , is one of the best I've ever had, delicious sandwiches and coffer that only Italian can make! worth a visit.

Eddyne B.

Yelp
The gelato there is amazing! The place is also steps from the piazza where the pantheon is located. Best time to go is in the afternoon, grab some gelato, go sit on one of the steps in the piazza, and marvel at the pantheon (an amazing feat in human engineering and architecture).

Yelp
we came here in a daze when we first arrived to rome. it's a good place to people watch and have some drinks and food. we ordered a pizza margherita to share, and it was fine, but i don't think you could really go wrong w/ any pizza in italy.
