"Meanwhile, courtesy of the young Nigerian-British curator Aindrea Emelife, and coinciding with Black History month in the U.K., Christie’s King Street galleries are exhibiting “Bold, Black, British.” The show, which runs from October 1-22, will feature works by 27 Black British artists, from the pioneering Sonia Boyce to the Malawi-born multimedia artist Samson Kambalu."

A big and prestigious auction house, well worth a visit for sale previews. Lovely flowers. Complimentary coffee. Better than a lot of gallery shows.

One of the main auction houses that give previews of some of their sales. We visited the Picasso ceramic show which was free to view. There was also a ceramic exhibition by various artists. They were available to buy but you had no idea who was the artist of any particular piece until the show finished.

Fantastic auction house! Very welcoming and helpful. Visited as an opportunity to view Mark Knopfler's fantastic guitar (and gear) collection being offered on auction. Very knowledgeable team around were happy to explain details on requested item and the auction process. Definitely worth following...

Hard to judge this as what Iam about to write about is no longer there - due to be sold at auction on 31Jan24. We went up to London to see the collection as was a big 80s fan of the band. The staff are so nice and helpful. I had a long chat with the lady who put the catalogue together - she knew her stuff! I like how they had set out the guitars, allowed a close look and take loads of pics. Some places can get "sniffy" eg you cant afford this stuff (true) but not here, staff treated all the public as an important visitor. My only slight complaint is that they had not set up an area for visiotrs to do some "air guitar" licks! Entry was free - I always look out for auction viewings as it is a free "museum". If in London worth checking out if they have anything on show.

Christie's is obviously a historic institution, one of the top auctioneers of fine art and antiquities in the world. They do a very nice job of showcasing their upcoming work, providing friendly staff, and doing so for all to see. Definitely worth a visit, especially if they have something you're interested in.
