Great spot to get screeched in. Best experience by far. $40 to be screeched includes certificate and rum shot. Overall great bar and friendly atmosphere and people. Make sure to kiss the cod. Book online as to ensure you get a spot. Screeching starts at 5 till 1am. Beer was great and delightful.

If you’re looking to be screeched-in at the most authentic pub…this is your place! Brian is amazing! We spent the day hanging out in the bar chatting with Brian. Lots of amazing stories to share! Made us feel very welcome. He even held our bar stools while we ran out for a quick bit! What a great day! We were also able to pick up a few amazing bottles of wine from Brian to enjoy on our trip. Make sure you book ahead! Definitely worth making time for this place. You won’t regret it! Thank you Brian for a time we will never forget!!!

Got screeched in here, of course, by none other than Skipper Lukey. He's got an amazing memory! Won't say much more than that, you just have to experience that when you're in a large group. Thoroughly enjoyed it in a few additional drinks after.

We attended the Screeched In ceremony at 9pm on Sunday. The service was excellent - the staff here really add to the character of the place. Super friendly, great conversations, even the other patrons were chatty and lovely. The host, 'Skipper Lukey', is one of a kind. 100% recommend. This was certainly a highlight of our trip. Can't believe I kissed a cod, but totally worth it! Proud to officially be an honorary Newfie.

The best place to become an honorary Newfoundlander and kiss the cod and drink Screech. The money I spent included the fee for the ceremony. Luke is incredible

The staff are fantastic. Went for the screeched in as my wife is from Alberta. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had a fantastic time. I ordered a very different drink called sambuca Paralyzer. This was the BEST Paralyzer that I have ever had in my 30 years of drinking. It was made perfectly. I would love to HIGHLY recommend this place for everyone. There is nothing that I can say badly for here. Thank you so much for showing my wife the Newfoundland hospitality.

Have no idea how a person can remember so many names. My son and bro in-law got screeched in, and they will never forget the experience. The skipper kept everyone (about 25-30) people entertained with his story telling, quick wit, and his humorous personality. Amazing job done SIR. Had the most amazing, fun night at Christian’s!! Got screeched in and Brian was charismatic, fun and welcoming. The screeching in ceremony must be experienced, you will not be disappointed by the creative way Brian invites you to become a “honorary newfie”. The bar has a cool vibe and all at the bar were friendly and chatty. An absolute must if you’re in St John’s! The fun never stopped! Thanks Brian for the experience!
