"Tradition or Innovation If you haven't tried the Philippine Lechon, it's basically roasted suckling pig. The pig is roasted whole over open fire for hours and it's a favorite celebration food for Filipinos. The best part of the lechon of course, is the crispy skin, which is also the most challenging to serve. Folks would often fight to have a piece of it, but it's never enough for everyone :-) The traditional version is simple and the meat is dipped in sweet pork liver sauce. I used to remember after every party we have, my mom would take the leftovers including the bones and make it into a stew called "paksiw" with the same liver sauce for the next day's meal. When you head to Cebu though, the lechon there is roasted with herbs and spices that make the lechon meat a little bit saltier than the traditional version. They are eaten as is, or with some vinegar and chilis. The same crispy skin is what people enjoy too. As people's taste change over the years, the traditional lechon has also evolved. Today, you can have a lechon with just the prime lechon belly meat without the bones and pig head served in front of you :-) And now, they even made a spicy version to it. Somehow, this makes the skin extra crispy and that's what we all love about the lechon. Don't miss this, even Anthony Bourdain had to try it :-) Innovation brings new tastes, but I think people love traditions so maybe I'd go back to my original whole lechon, to which I associate with happy eating and happy celebrations! :)"

Summary- Of the three Lechon that we tried, this was best. Details- We had the spicy 0.25 kg Lechon with rice. Wonderful crispy skin. Meat was juicy. We liked the garlic and chili flakes. Vinegar sauce was a nice accompaniment to the pork. My only food complaint is that the rice was a little dry. Outside seating in the shade. Staff is friendly. English spoken. Toilets located inside Parkmall.

Cebu's Original Lechon Belly, the boneless Lechon Park Mall Branch is close to Mantawi Drive intersection, ground/1st floor outside. I asked the cashier and they: Open at 10 AM everyday and close at 9 PM everyday On holidays, they open at 10 AM and close at 7 PM. They serve delicious Lechon Belly and along with fellow customers, they do attract quite some customers and it's no surprising they do; Lechon is delicious and Filipinos want to eat it. There is no fork and spoon so you have to eat with your hands. Don't worry, they give plastic hands so you don't get the oil on your fingers. They offer other traditional foods and rice is 'Puso' and not by cups, don't worry, the main show is the boneless Lechon Belly, which is absolutely delicious on its own, the other dishes are appetizers. They sell in kilos so you can plan ahead with yourself, family or friends to avoid shortages, including the 'puso', so no exceeding or lacking of weight cause they have a weighing scale which you can see. If you are looking for other parts or buying a whole Lechon for something, I suggest buying elsewhere. But if you're thinking of the good old Lechon, I suggest this place or other native related restaurants. 10/10 food 10/10 service, if not busy, order gets in time, if busy, you might have to wait a bit 10/10 atmosphere, just watch out for the hungry dogs begging for food since Lechon is good in smell and taste itself.

Worth it! The Lechon is excellent. I love their servings and their fast service. I don't know if two hanging rice is enough, though. The spicy Lechon is not that spicy. We dined outside of the restaurant. The ambiance is entirely Filipino since you eat Lechon with your hands. The place is okay since so few people are at that time: 1:30 pm.

The Lechon Belly was cooked perfectly. The skin was crunchy the way I liked it. The seaweed salad perfectly balanced the pork for those who enjoy it.

We can’t say enough good things about the lechon belly at Cebu’s Original! The meat is insanely tender and juicy, super flavourful, and the skin is as crispy as can be. We tried both the original and spicy and both were delicious. We highly recommend checking them out, the belly really is the best part!
