"Castle tour at Burg Liechtenstein Located just outside Vienna near Maria Enzersdorf, Liechtenstein Castle is a dramatic structure at the edge of the Wiederwald (Vienna Woods). Twice destroyed by the Ottomans in the 16th and 17th centuries, it was in ruins until 1884 when it was rebuilt at the height of European Romanticism and shortly after tours began. It is still owned by the Liechtenstein family. Guided tours last around an hour."

Beautifull caste just a few minutes from Vienna. The tour is every hour and lasts a little over an hour. It is not allowed to take pictures in the castle. The entrance fee is reasonable. Parking near the castle is only for residents, visitors must park in a large free parking lot about half a kilometer from the castle. I recommend combining the visit with the nearby cave Seegrote.

An interesting tour of the Castle, which begins the history of the princely family of Liechtenstein, and which is built on a rock that later gave the name to the Principality of Liechtenstein. The history of the castle began in the 12th century. The castle has many artifacts from the 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries. The tour takes place every hour in German and English. Admission costs 18 euros. Photography is not allowed inside. You need to look at the schedule on Google Maps. Now (January 2025), the castle is open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. A large parking lot is about 300 meters from the castle

It wasn't open when we went, however the beauty and craftsmanship of the castle knows no bounds. Excellent hiking trails surround this majestic castle.

Castle Liechtenstein offers a charming glimpse into the past, with its medieval architecture transporting visitors to another era. The castle is surrounded by picturesque walking paths, making it an ideal spot for a relaxing stroll while taking in the scenic views. Its historical ambiance and well-preserved structure make it a worthwhile visit for those interested in castles and history.

Neat old castle with a good tour. The castle dates back to the 12th century, but has been rebuilt a number of times and added to in the last 200 years. The rooms have good displays/collections.

I have really mixed feelings about that place. From the outside the castle is beautiful, I really recommend walking there, around, but the problem for me was that it is not allowed to take photos inside, and what is the worse information about that wasn’t provided at the ticket office before purchasing tickets, so going there for a tour with a guide was a complete waste of time and money. What is more the guide is more focused on opening and closing the door than on sharing any information. There is really little time spend in each of the rooms, and without taking photos what is crucial for me it is even worse. I don’t recommend purchasing tickets and going inside

Interesting. Good guide, not a lot to see. Grounds were nice and the coffee and gift shop and art work on the lawn were all interesting as well

Don't miss this castle! You can get inside only with a guide, tours are every round hour. The price is for a guided tour. We didn't know that tours are 1xhour and missed one at 13.00. Had to hang around for about 45 min, but there is a nice sculpture garden at the foot of the castle and a cafe. If a group is big, they split it and tour with 2 guides. We were lucky to have Julian as our guide, he was doing tour bilingual German-English and at an extremely professional level! A round of applause to him! The tour takes about an hour and is very informative! Park your car on the main parking some 300m from the castle and take a walking trail left from it. Don't go uphill via the car road.
