Casa Zuniga Bed and Breakfast

This place is gorgeous! My husband and I loved it and so sad we only stayed for one night. We definitely want to come back and stay longer. Guanajuato is a beautiful city and the view from this place lets you see all of it. We specifically were looking to stay somewhere near downtown but quiet enough to sleep at night, and this was perfect. The whole estate is beautifully decorated and there is murals and art everywhere that explains the history of this city. Billy was so fun and made us feel very welcome. The hosts also helped us find a ride from the airport and were so accommodating and willing to support. We're definitely coming back!

We stayed 3 nights at the end of December and we loved staying here. We got upgraded to the Marguerita Room which had views to die for. Would recommend that room! Loved lying in bed watching the sun rise and seeing the view of all the houses. The breakfasts were the best we had in our 3 weeks in Mexico. The property is very interesting and Billy and Ari had lots of tales to tell about it. Other reviews have said it all really, would highly recommend staying here. (If you have mobility issues its not the place for you as a lot of stairs)

Amazing art-filled location with great owners who really care about your experience. The food was outstanding and we got to meet a lot of fellow travelers/visitors. Our room was private and complete, and so comfortable. The terrace had an unparalleled view of the entire city. And the location right next to Pipila Monument and the Funicular made it the best central location for all the city has to offer. Loved our vacation, and loved staying here. We already told them we were coming back later this year!

Had a great stay with Ari, Billy and the Casa Zuniga team and really enjoyed the great views, large rooms, and great homecooked breakfast every morning. Great location near Al Pipila overlooking the city with a short 5-10 minute walk to Centro but be prepared for lots of steps (or take the funicular, which was down for maintenance when we were there). Also enjoyed the hike to La Buffa with Billy and getting more insight on the geography and history along with talking with the other guests at breakfast each morning. Will definitely stay again!

My partner and I had a wonderful time at Casa Zuniga. We stayed 3 nights. The room was very clean and cozy. We had an incredible view overlooking the city. We enjoyed the location because we were a 10-20 minute walk from the majority of sites, museums, and restaurants we wanted to see. Walking back up the hill/steps took about 10-15 minutes and is good exercise. We often took a cab back at night for about 80 pesos if we didn't feel up for the climb. The service was excellent. All the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They gave good recommendations. We met several other guests who have been coming back to stay at Casa Zuniga for years. It's a charming place with really unique artwork. The breakfasts in the mornings were fantastic. They respected our dietary preferences (vegan) and made very tasty meals each morning. The ingredients were fresh. We enjoy fresh salsa, guacamole, tortillas, and a variety of Mexican dishes. We plan to return to Guanajato and will definitely be staying at Casa Zuniga again.

My driver told me as we were pulling up to Casa Zuniga that I was staying at the place with the best view of the city. It was incredibly amazing…as was the house itself, and the Funicular as trasnportation to the Center and back home again. I had such a great time and loved the city, and my overall experience was highly impacted by Casa Zuniga. Great friendly, casual hosts, amazing food and just overall generosity. I highly recommend.

You could not wish for a warmer more welcoming place to stay than Casa Zúñiga. It is ideally located with views over Guanajuato centre, which is a five minute walk away. The house is beautiful and expansive. Entering through a stunning doorway you will feel as though you have passed through the wardrobe and into Narnia. The home is full of interesting art works and pleasant spaces to relax. There is a pool and many of the rooms have private balconies. Billy and Ari are great hosts full of useful recommendations and historical context to make your stay more interesting. Guanajuato is a charming town filled with colonial era architecture, music, culture and food and central to the mexican independence movement. A fabulous place to stay.

Wow. This is one of those places and experiences you’ll remember forever - made even more special by our magnificent hosts, Ari and Billy. Well before we arrived Billy provided clear instructions and recommendations. On arrival we were greeted with a tour of their spectacular residence, hand built by Ari’s father (the detail, love and passion that went into it is insane). The place itself is perched high on the hill, right alongside the Pipila Monument and funicular down to town (also an easy walk). Our room was large, light filled and featured a balcony with panoramic views of the city. It was a wonderful place for an afternoon beer. Coffee is served at 7am and Ari cooks a delicious traditional Mexican breakfast for guests. If you ask nicely (and he has time), Billy may take you for a hike to La Bufa and provide a highly entertaining history lesson along the way. A truly exceptional experience.
