Cool place, chill vibe, good food. Love the memorabilia including the Guns N Roses booth. Loved the corned beef sandwich. Don't go for 1/2, get the full sandwich and take it home. Fantastic the next day. Next time I am going to splurge more and get The Canter's Fairfax. Sweet potato fries were great. The pickles are soooo good. Downside, I was completely disappointed in the bakery. I ordered a lot of different items and not one of them was fresh and yummy. Stale and tasteless. Maybe I hit it on a bad night. Next time...dinner, no bakery items.

We ate at Canter’s for breakfast and had a nice time. We came just before it started getting busy and were able to enjoy a good, hearty meal before heading out for the day. The service was good and it seemed like I was being offered to have my cup of coffee refilled after every few sips. We ordered a three egg omelette (spinach, mushroom, and jack), lox, eggs, and onions scrambled, as well as the challah French toast to share. Both the egg dishes were very filling, especially with the toast. The French toast was delicious and we managed to finish all of it even though we were already really full. Overall, the breakfast food was the typical kind you’d find at other diners but the prices were good, service was great, the vibe was nice, and it was cool to eat at an iconic Los Angeles restaurant.

It’s the iconic restaurant and we are glad it has been through Covid and got survived. The service was very brilliant and super friendly and the food was incredibly delicious and also good portions and prices. They keep the space very safe and clean. Highly recommend there.

I thought the World Famous Pastrami was going to be epic,and it was great, but the real star here was the onion rings. I'm a real big fan of onion rings and I've tried very interesting and exotic variations and these onion rings were my all time favorites. The Strawberry Cheescake was good too. The service was good. The atmosphere was a time machine back to beginnings of the city of Los Angeles with modern upgrades for business flow.

Great atmosphere, delicious food, and good service! Dining room area requires proof of vaccination. We ordered the vegetarian mozza ball soup, onion rings, and the corn beef sandwich with fries! It was all so good! Went home absolutely stuffed 🤤

A New York style Deli that is a mainstay of Los Angeles. The menu is huge. They serve everything you expect from a deli from bagels to blintzes. The food is better than average. It is a place you have to go at least once if you live here.

This place is an iconic slice of the Hollywood Era gone by, but somehow survived into the modern day. Step one foot through the entry door and transport yourself to another place in time... to when every establishment operated under similarly (if not quite Kosher) high quality standards using real ingredients on time tested Old World recipes. The sights and smells that greet you at the door are like an instant throw back to better days. It's like stepping into a living, breathing, working, time capsule that was preserved a half century ago or more. I immediately noticed the hand painted 1930's era menu showing the prices for their "Soups to Go!" offerings. Exactly what I was looking for to take to a sick friend suffering with Covid 19. The prices seemed a just a bit high until I got the bags home and opened the well packed containers of their large order of Matzo Ball Soup for myself and the much larger than expected "Pot of Chicken Soup" I ordered for my friend. All I can say is "Wow!" what a great value for the money. The Matzo Ball Soup came packaged in two separate containers. One container holding the delicious clear chicken broth and a separate container holding two softball sized matzo balls. The flavor, consistency and firmness of these balls could not have rated any higher. As for my taste it was a flawlessly delicious taste treat that quite simply could not have been any better than it already was! And as for my friend's "Pot of Chicken Soup" it was a giant container of (2) large quality chicken breasts with rib meat and bones left on, (2) chicken legs, huge peeled Russet potato halves, plenty of peeled, fresh sliced carrots, a huge softball sized matzo ball, one traditional chicken dumpling and a nice spattering of cooked egg noodles rounded out the container which fully filled my largest soup pot. The extra large container of delicious chicken soup was easily enough to serve 8 soup bowls. I also ordered an entire loaf of freshly baked Challah (egg ) bread which they slice to your specifications while you wait. They also included almost a half a loaf of sliced Rye bread and some butter. So for less than $50 (including tip) I ended up with enough delicious soup to satisfy 10 hungry diners. And my friend who had been suffering with dizzyness and migranes in her fight against Coronavirus reported to me that in the 2 days it took for she and her husband to eat their pot of Chicken soup, the symptoms they had been struggling with for more than a week straight had all but completely disapped! Thank you Canter's Deli for remaining true to form over all these years and for adding "Great Value" to your menu of fresh and delicious prepared meals, entrees and incredible mouth-watering bakery items. MAZEL TOV!!!

Food was good. My portobello sandwich was okay. It was soggy by the time we got to the car to eat but still good. My husband got the pastrami sandwich. That was delicious! We got a lot of pastries. The cheesecake was creamy. I would go back for the pastrami.
