"Here's the Deal I still owe my best friend millions for introducing me to Wellington's Cafe L'Affare while I was working in New Zealand . Founded in 1990, this quintessential cafe is cozy, delicious and gourmet ground breaking. What are your food choices, you ask? All-day breakfast, a delicious à la carte lunch menu, daily changing soup and pasta options and a comprehensive selection of café style counter food. There's not only the famed espresso and coffee bar, but also a license for beer and wine, as well as freshly squeezed juices and smoothies. This is the perfect place to start the day off right, or recharge at lunch during a big visit to Wellington, New Zealand. If you're not going through Wellington, fear not. Local cafes all throughout the country serve their delicious coffee. L'affare in Italian means 'the deal'."

Had a wonderful breakfast date experience here :) Had amazing service the moment we stepped in the door with staff being so attentive and kind. The seating was so spacious. The atmosphere wasn't loud either, which was nice as someone who struggles a bit with loud noises. I had the iced mocha, and my partner had the peach cold brew, which was such an interesting flavor and was so amazing to try out. My partner described it as smooth, and I can't agree more. My iced mocha was topped with marshmallows, ice cream, and cream! The coffee was not bitter at all and smoothly accompanied the chocolate 😋 I was not expecting it to be as big as it was but will be coming back to have more!! For food, my partner had their eggs bene with salmon. Eggs were cooked to perfection, and the hollandaise was especially delicious. I opted for the savory muffin and was not disappointed with how soft this muffin was, perfectly accompanied by butter. Thank you so much for our breakfast, and it won't be the last time coming :) <3

We had breakfast for four of us on Sunday morning, service was friendly and efficient. Meals were delicious and coffee was fantastic. A cool setting and displays were very funky. Will be back next time we visit Wellington.

I got the bubble and chorizo bubble and squeak, it sounded great from the menu, but I was surprised at both how tasty and how well presented this was. Such a well balanced meal, not too creamy, not too salty, just right.

This is a quite large place, lots of seating. First I'd like to praise the chef. I had the waffles - the waffle itself was perfect with a rich flavor, not bland. The 2 compotes with it were also perfect, the banana was tasty and the chocolate / coffee mousse just right. My only criticism - the above was perfect - and then they added half a cup of chopped dried banana pieces. They were also a few chocolate coated coffee beans. That didn't add anything and in fact detracted from what the chef prepared. Too many flavors / textures. It became muddled. I took them off, but they were mixed in a bit. The latte was also a bit small. However - I would come back and just tell them no dried banana pieces. I would eat the waffle plain ....lol. It's was that good.

We came in on Saturday just to grab a takeaway coffee and noticed all the yummy looking food going out from the kitchen so returned Sunday to enjoy a yummy breakfast before catching our flight back to Auckland. The Staff on both days were fabulous and the coffee was perfect and quick. Highly recommend as a stop when in Wellington.

A large cafe with more private table options. Great selection of cabinet food that's home made. Good menu options for both breakfast and lunch. I had eggs Benedict on one visit and Vietnamese salad on another and both very tasty. Coffee tends to be a little bit more bitter here but very popular with locals. Love that mochas come with a whitakers chocolate square!

The peach twist coffee is well worth a visit. Sweet enough that I didn't feel the need to add any sugar, but not so sweet that it didn't feel like a coffee, with some lovely fruity notes. Eggs Benedict also really good, the burnt butter hollandaise gives it that tad extra savoury flavour. Staff were lovely and very happy to explain menu items, which led me to try the peach twist coffee in the first place. Will definitely be back when I'm in the vicinity!
