"Ciampini has all the required three P s (that's a thing, right?): People-watching, prime piazza location, and perfect cappuccini to make it the most coveted caffè bar in Rome. From 8 a.m. to after dark, Rome's best-dressed flock to Piazza San Lorenzo in Lucina for a caffè and cornetto, a light pasta lunch, or the evening's aperitivo . Counters are crowded, and tables are in demand(with a slightly higher fee for service) but well worth it to have your own oasis in the middle of the hubbub. A few minutes at the gelato bar is also worth your time—ice cream genius Sergio spends every morning making all the ice cream and granita flavors from scratch."

We love this restaurant. We have been here twice on separate visits to Rome and each time we’ve had excellent service excellent meal and amazing views. We celebrated our birthday there and I’ve taken my sister and my nephew visiting from Germany saying that they will go back as well. We will be going there again in November and looking forward to it. Greetings from Canada🇨🇦

Nice location with a pleasant terrace, but the experience was disappointing. It was very hot with only two small fans, making it uncomfortable. I asked for my food well done, but it came undercooked and had to be sent back. The chef clearly didn’t follow instructions. Needs improvement in both comfort and kitchen service.

Beautiful restaurant, exceptional service but very expensive. You pay for the views and the fabric tablecloths and towels. Good option only if you are very tired and hungry.

Tourist trap!! Do not recommend eating here as they are looking to tourist trap. I have lived in Italy for several years now and have never been required to order at LEAST one secondi PER person at a restaurant before. Asked if we could each order a pizza instead as we were not able to eat that much food and was denied. Once we decided we didn’t want to order extra food and spend extra money we weren’t interested in we were swarmed with several unprofessional staff members. Scoffing and collecting the silverware with an attitude then watching us to make sure we went and paid for out 4€ water because they refused to bring up the check. Eating requirements should be posted on the outside of the building or told by the staff. High prices and rude staff, absolutely do not recommend.

Stopped here and had a delicious lunch! The chick pea croquettes were a hit and the spaghetti and gnocchi were out of this world! It’s a really nice spot above and near the Spanish Steps.

My mother and I were very lucky to come here on their last day for the season 2024. Our waiter, Romano, was extremely professional and pleasant, and the food was delish. Such a treat - and with a fab view!
