Broadway Motel & Miro Court Villas

Decent hotel, very limited laundry facilities though for the amount of families staying there at one time. Would be easier to have a small set in each unit. The kids play area is nice but they need to update some of the equipment for safety.

The only thing I'm sad about is that we only stayed 1 night! We will come back and stay again, we loved it that much, and have fallen in love with Matamata. The 1 bedroom unit was clean and inviting, the amenities were excellent (including an AC/heating unit, pool, play area, lovely kitchen). Diann and Tony were kind and informative hosts who work hard to keep their guests happy. Would highly recommend!

What a wonderful place to stay. We unexpectedly stayed there for 24 hours after a breakdown. Owners were fantastically kind and accommodating and the pool and play area were just brilliant for children. Beds super comfy with nice linen, beautiful gardens. Not your normal, cookie cutter, soulless motel at all. Highly recommend.

The rooms are quite roomy with a great kitchen. We had a lovely little backyard area as well along with easy parking. The owners are quite nice as well. About the only thing we didn't have was a laundry (but we did have the shared pool and spa). There is a grocery store right next door as well. We would stay here again.

Our party of five stayed here and it was a real treat! Spacious, clean and beautifully appointed rooms which felt like a home away from home rather than a hotel. We loved the owners who were so friendly and welcoming. A highlight is the huge open lawn with loads of kids toys and bikes, swings, a trampoline, a basketball hoop, table tennis, totem tennis, badminton, a large pool and a hot, clean spa! We had a ground floor room facing onto the "parkland" - it was lovely to hang out and play and then watch the kids and other families enjoying the wonderful weather. We came to Matamata for Hobbiton but the hotel was an unexpected delight. Wonderful especially for families of all ages - there is something for everyone. For Lord of The Rings fans, you can borrow a DVD player and the LOTR and The Hobbit DVD trilogies from Reception and watch them in advance! Bonus!!

Our favorite place to stay of all our stops on our trip across the north island. Such friendly owners, a lovely home-like family feel, and a sweet cat that our kids fell in love with. In easy walking distance to excellent food. If we come back to NZ Matamata will be on our stopover list even though we’ve gone to Hobbiton already just so we can stay here.

Villa was a lovely spot. Close to cafes and restaurants, modern clean and tidy rooms, and great, safe internal courtyard full of games and equipment for kids to have a run around

We stayed one night here to visit Hobbiton as part of a larger road trip. Overall, it was a nice stay. The motel is basic, but comfortable. Our room was a little cramped with 2 people, but for one night, it was fine. The central business district in town starts about a block away, so it's easy to walk over for a coffee or breakfast. My only complaint is that we did a load of laundry while we were there and the dryer didn't work well. I spent 8 dollars trying to dry one load and still ended up with wet clothes.
