Bi-Rite Creamery serves up the creamiest organic ice cream in inventive flavors like salted caramel and balsamic strawberry, drawing long lines near Dolores Park.
"Small-batch, seasonal, hand-made, and local ice cream is the calling card at what might be San Francisco’s most popular scoop shop. Lines usually snake out the door and down the block, thanks to its prime location near Dolores Park. People often wait for a taste of salted caramel of balsamic strawberry, two of Bi-Rite’s most popular flavors, or the more unusual options like basil or honey lavender." - Dianne de Guzman, Paolo Bicchieri
"This Mission creamery is an ice cream staple in the city, and for good reason. Bi-Rite makes drippy soft serve with a buffalo milk base that consistently sends us into a state of unadulterated bliss. We love their vanilla, but we love our cone even more with a chocolate swirl." - julia chen 1, lani conway, patrick wong
"Being Dolores Park-adjacent (and also churning out fantastic ice cream) means there’ll most likely be a line at Bi-Rite. But said lines move quickly, and it’s worth waiting to get some of their incredibly smooth soft serve or regular flavors like ricanelas, salted caramel, or cookies and cream. Whichever you choose, the texture will be creamy and perfect." - julia chen 1, lani conway, ricky rodriguez
"Bi-Rite is Dolores Park-adjacent, which means there’s always a line—especially on the rare warm day when the entire city flocks to the lawn to play SpikeBall and be horizontal in the sun. But even if this place was at the top of Hawk Hill, we’d still get here for a seasonal scoop of ricanelas that hits you in the nose with cinnamon, or the refreshing strawberry balsamic. If you're on team soft serve, snag a cone of their buffalo milk version that's smoother than a room-temperature stick of butter. There isn’t much in the way of seating, so just walk your frozen treat over to the park. photo credit: Spencer Cotton" - Julia Chen
"You’re going to end up waiting longer for a scoop of ice cream at Bi-Rite than it would take for that scoop to melt, but it’s something we’ll happily do - even when it’s a perfect day in Dolores Park and your friend brought their new teacup elephant. We like the salted caramel, but it’s hard to go wrong. And if the teacup elephant is too adorable to walk away from for too long, skip the line and buy pints to go, or just walk a few steps down to their soft-serve stand instead." - will kamensky
