"The onetime home of Francis Ford Coppola while shooting his film Tetro, this hotel is like a little piece of heaven in buzzy Palermo Soho. Inside are terracotta-tiled patios, lush gardens, an outdoor kitchen with a parrilla, and warm and light-filled rooms, each one named after a different Coppola family member. There are only seven rooms here, and each is decorated with furniture and art selected, presumably, by Coppola himself during his travels in Argentina and elsewhere in Latin America—including indigenous Peruvian tapestries. The service is ultra-discreet: A manager, concierge, and sommelier are on hand, but they’re usually out of sight (cell phone at the ready) unless required." - Celeste Moure

"How did it strike you on arrival? The one-time home of Francis Ford Coppola while shooting his film Tetro, this hotel is like a little piece of heaven in buzzy Palermo Soho. Inside are terracotta-tiled patios, lush gardens, an outdoor kitchen with a parrilla , and warm and light-filled rooms, each one named after a different Coppola family member. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. There are only seven rooms here, and each is decorated with furniture and art selected, presumably, by Coppola himself during his travels in Argentina and elsewhere in Latin America—including indigenous Peruvian tapestries. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase? Rooms are decorated with hand-woven rugs and calfskins, leather sofas peppered with Peruvian pillows, heavy alpaca blankets on the beds—all of which you'll want to take home with you if you could. How about the staff? The service is ultra-discreet: A manager, concierge, and sommelier are on hand, but they’re usually out of sight (cell phone at the ready) unless required. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you. The unheated pool in the garden is perfect for a refreshing dip after a day of exploring the neighborhood. There's no restaurant, but the hotel serves breakfast in the lounge, and the bar has some very nice wines from Coppola's own vineyard in Mendoza. Bottom line: worth it, and why? For film fans, staying in the house where the iconic filmmaker once lived is priceless. For everyone else, this little hotel is welcoming, warm, and cozy." - Celeste Moure

We (@wolfestreettravel on Instagram and wolfestreettravel.com) stayed at Be Jardin Escondido during a month-long trip through South America that began in Buenos Aires. This is the second Coppola family property at which we've stayed. Great boutique hotel that feels (and is) like a welcoming townhouse in the city. We stayed in the SUPERIOR TWIN - CORTAZAR room, which was large and with a balcony that overlooked the courtyard, which was great. The bathroom was good, but not great.||The best aspects of Jardin Escondido are the living room, where you can hang out in the evening and have drinks by yourselves or with other guests or in the morning with a complementary Nespresso machine in an adjacent room; the breakfast, which was really great and made to order; and the support and recommendations by staff, which were incredibly helpful and on point, for restaurants.

Absolutely charming hotel. Every detail utterly delightful — from the lovely furnishings, fresh flowers everywhere, interesting native art and details to make the traveler feel at home like sweet snacks, games, movies, and books. Hosts extremely helpful and knowledgeable and went out of their way to cater to our travel needs. Breakfast delicious and plentiful. Garden truly beautiful and living room cozy and comfortable. My highest recommendation!

Do yourself a favor and stay here when visiting Buenos Aires! Palermo SoHo was the perfect hub to walk almost anywhere in the city and be close to the best restaurants as well. Andres, Colin, and Ignacio were very friendly and offered excellent recommendations. The breakfast was wonderful as well. We arrived early before check in after a long flight and they had the room ready for us. It was wonderful to settle in after a 10 hour red eye. Truly welcoming and wonderful.

We had a wonderful time at Jardin Escondido. The building is architecturally interesting and nicely decorated. Beautiful rooms/furnishings with an inviting terrace and pool. What makes it perfect is your staff. Every person working there is a friendly, attentive, professional and absolutely lovely. We'll be back in one month!

Amazing staff. Great location. Beautiful hotel. Book Roman room, which is light with double French windows and a private balcony, don’t be seduced by suites, especially Francis, which we were, which is dark and faces onto public and staff areas. All of the staff are great. The breakfast is wonderful. And the location is perfect. Just get the right room.

Google
Quaint place with seven rooms, but not as advertised. “Swimming pool “ is a joke, smaller than a hot tub or even a fish pond. Staff was very attentive, and breakfast was truly homemade from the small kitchen, but since we had to leave early to catch a plane, a “to go “ breakfast was only one croissant! Room was spacious and clean but the toilet flush didn’t work and could not be fixed until after we left. Absolutely no early check in despite our arriving from an early morning flight.

Incredibly friendly, helpful staff and an improbably lush inner garden with a plunge pool help elevate this hidden gem into an experience typically available only to the super-rich. A comfortable living room with adjacent breakfast tables provide just the right touch to start the day calm and satisfied. (Breakfast is cooked to order, with the most delicious variety of coffees!) Wonderful dining, shopping, and tourist attractions are within east (and safe) walking distance. Forgot your Spanish? No problem — the staff speak better English than you do! Most travelers to Buenos Aires arrive too early for check-in and depart too late for check-out. Again, no problem — you can relax in the book-filled living room and even get coffee or soft drinks.

This hotel was amazing. It had all of the amenities of a modern hotel but in an old traditional home setting. The staff was lovely and the food was amazing. If we come back to BA we will most definitely stay here. Excellent all around i cannot say enough great things.
