Baz Bagels in Little Italy serves vibrant, hand-rolled bagels and Jewish comfort food in a playful, retro diner vibe that begs for an Instagram snap.
"Baz doesn’t take itself too seriously, and neither does its latkes. The restaurant offers a couple of different versions of the treat, including Grandma Joyce’s famous potato latkes (you can order sets of three to 40 pieces), served with sour cream and applesauce, and Fancy Pants latkes with salmon roe, sour cream, chives, and additional add-ons. The shop also offers Goldbelly shipping." - Eater Staff
"Who doesn't want breakfast all the time? Baz has a cute, vintage diner atmosphere with remixes of your favorite breakfast sandwiches. They also make their own cream cheeses daily. The bagels are always fresh and come in a wide variety. If you’re unsure of what to order from their deliciously innovative menu, just ask the staff for help building a custom sandwich. Highly suggested: the nova salad which is a blend of smoked salmon, cream cheese, spices and pomegranate seeds!" - Barrel
"Edith's isn't the only place putting latkes on bagels. At Baz in Nolita, you can pick up an egg sandwich stuffed with latke hash, with shreds of crispy potato that perfectly compliment the mess of American cheese that spills out the side. Add optional bacon, and you have yourself one of the city's top BECs. This sandwich sounds excessive, but it works surprisingly well. It helps that Baz makes one of the city's top bagels." - team infatuation
"There is no better way to celebrate being both a New Yorker and a football fan than hosting a football bagel brunch. And all it takes is fifteen seconds on Seamless and turning on the game. Tell your friends to bring the champagne and orange juice and you have yourself a real party. Order Now" - katherine lewin, hillary reinsberg
"Like very strong allergy medication and Plan B, most great New York bagels are purchased over a counter. At Baz, you can order your bagel from a laminated menu at a table without having to wait an outrageous amount of time to get in (or having to pay Sadelle’s prices). Even if you’re not typically a pumpernickel person, you should get the pumpernickel everything bagel here. You’ll probably leave a pumpernickel convert. Baz also serves some good eggs, latkes, and salads if you’re not in the mood for a bread circle. And if you’d rather get your bagel to-go than have a full meal here, there’s a counter up front where you can do just that." - hannah albertine
