"Basik serves some seriously good acai bowls (or really acai plastic cups/tubs). A few bar seats that look out on Polk Street are all they have inside, so this is more of a grab-and-go situation. But odds are, you’re getting this after going on a run or a trip to the gym anyway, so why slow down by sitting?" - taylor abrams, will kamensky

"Basik got its start on the big island in Hawaii, where their original location is based (the Nob Hill store is actually their first location on the mainland), and from the staff to the menu, it definitely has an island vibe. The menu here offers souped-up acai bowls with add-ins like almond mylk, almond butter, bee pollen, and all kinds of fresh fruit, plus a full line-up of smoothies. Conveniently located on Polk Street, it's an easy stop before work or after a workout."

This place is really good and their açaí is very tasty. The only issue I found was that for the price and quantity, it’s very overpriced. It’s an extra $1 to add strawberries to the basic menu açaí bowl. Kind of ridiculous.

Amazing Açai smoothie bowls!! The large is HUGE!! So healthy and good for you, loaded with fruit and granola. A must for breakfast or a mid day snack, was recommended by a local and totally worth it

Acai is top-level and there are lots of tasteful options for bowl types. Ambiance is also great, but the service was pretty bad - the cashier gave us attitude about putting toppings at the bottom of the bowl, something which is extremely common for acai bowls.

This is the best acai bowl place in SF. For all you LA folks who moved up here and can't find a good acai bowl spot, your prayers are ANSWERED. For people who have no idea what acai bowls are and just want something refreshing and delicious, your prayers are ALSO answered.

The BEST Acai Bowl I have had in SF! The Forager and Banyan are my favorite bowls. They are refreshing and yummy. The only issue with Basik is that the line is very long on the weekends and it can take 30+ minutes to get a bowl.

Awesome acai bowls here, each one I have tried has been delicious. They are also a bit on the pricy side, but splitting a large with someone can work pretty well.

Love the islander bowl (I add raspberries) when I want a filling breakfast that isn't stodgy brunch. The lines are a little crazy on the weekends but if you have time, it's worth the wait.

Great açaí bowl. Seems like there’s always a line but worth waiting. Restroom available in the back.
