Admittedly, touring Gaudí’s famed church, Sagrada Familia, can feel daunting—if you’re only in town for a few days, the idea of spending hours in a queue isn’t super appealing. (That said, there is good reason for the long line.) You can also just do a stroll-by—the exterior is impressive despite ongoing construction. And there are other worthy Gaudí creations to see throughout the city, like: Palau Güell (an early commissioned home palace in El Raval), Casa Battló (the remarkably mystical house on Passeig de Gràcia), Casa Milà (commonly referred to as La Pedrera, a near optical illusion of curved stone), and Park Güell (Gaudí’s enchantingly imagined landscape). She is extremely knowledgeable and answered all our random questions while providing a detailed background to Gaudí’s life, times and work. We were a small group with lovely people so it was like wandering around with friends enjoying the history and sites of Barcelona. Did the walking tour with Tati and came away with so many fun facts and knowledge not just about historic Barcelona but also the issues that are important to modern Barcelona. Tati has an incredible wealth of knowledge and passion for the city and is an excellent guide around the old Gothic quarters. This is definitely a must do activity early on so that you get your bearings and understand so much more of the city.

The walking tour of the Gothic Quarter was both informative and so much fun. Noah is an amazing tour guide - he's a great storyteller and very funny. We saw several churches, palaces, Roman ruins, and more! And we learned about the history of Catalan as well as some current political events. I would highly recommend this tour!

We were an extended family group of 5 who took Katharyn’s Gothic Quarter tour today. It was excellent! Katharyn was engaging, fun, knowledgable, and so helpful (lots of good tips when we asked)! The information she gave us and route she took us on gave us a real flavor for the culture and history of the area. Our tour ranged in age from young adults to several in their upper 80’s and Katharyn did a wonderful job setting a nice pace for everyone. We all highly recommend this tour!!!!

We booked a full-day private tour to Montserrat from Barcelona, and it exceeded every expectation—hands down one of the best experiences of our trip! Our guide, Lisa, was simply phenomenal. Knowledgeable, warm, engaging, and full of fascinating stories, she brought the history and spirituality of Montserrat to life. She tailored the day perfectly to our interests, made sure we had plenty of time to explore the basilica and monastery grounds, and timed everything so we could attend the beautiful performance by the boys’ choir (Escolania). It was a magical moment we’ll never forget. Lisa’s enthusiasm and genuine care made the entire day feel personal and special. Our driver, Alex, was equally impressive. The winding mountain road up to Montserrat can be challenging, but Alex handled it with skill, confidence, and a calm demeanor that made the drive enjoyable rather than stressful. He was punctual, professional, courteous, and even shared helpful local insights along the way. The smooth ride both up and down meant we could relax and soak in the stunning views. We capped off the morning with a wonderful lunch in the city, thoughtfully arranged as part of the tour—delicious food in a great spot that fit seamlessly into the day. From start to finish, this private tour was flawless thanks to Lisa’s exceptional guiding and Alex’s excellent driving. Our tour was of the Gothic Quarter. Our guide was very informative and friendly. You get way more information from these walking tours than sitting on a tour bus. Our kids 12 & 15 also found the tour enjoyable. If we had more time we would have liked to to do the Gaudi tour as well. Barcelona has so much to explore, we would definitely recommend!
