"Just a little over 300 feet from the towering cupola of St. Stephen's Basilica and arranged around a glass-roofed 19th-century courtyard, the Aria Hotel is hands-down the place for music lovers in Budapest. Placido Domingo, Lennie Kravitz, and Rita Ora are amongst those who have enjoyed the hotel’s music-inspired hospitality, and the walls of the Mirror Bar are covered in the signatures of other famous musical guests. The four musically-themed wings contain 49 rooms, either with private terraces onto the courtyard, or views onto the elegant surrounding streets. Each room is inspired by an individual composer or musician, decorated with fabulous original art by Czech caricaturist Josef Blecha, and has its own marble fireplace, with décor ranging from the voluptuous and extravagant purples of the opera wing to the more restrained palette and lines of the classical wing. After a day of sightseeing guests can unwind in the early evening over complimentary cheese and wine in the courtyard, which from Thursday to Sunday is accompanied by live music from the best local performing artists."
"Opened in 2015, this colorful spot from NYC-based The Library Collection celebrates music—and music lovers. Set in the historic city center, near pedestrian dining and shopping streets, the restored 19th-century bank now houses 48 rooms and suites spread over four genre-themed towers. Each accommodation is named for musical legends in that theme, so think names like Puccini in the Opera tower, Billie Holliday in Jazz, Prince in Contemporary, and Chopin in Classical. The decorative style and details vary slightly depending on the genre (Classical rooms have Murano glass chandeliers, for example, while Jazz ones have Art Nouveau-inspired furniture), but aside from caricatures of the featured artists and related books and CDs, the vibrant décor isn’t kitschy or themed. Instead, guests can expect luxurious comforts like high-end (and customizable) bedding, home theater-grade entertainment systems (linked to a digital music library), onyx-lined bathrooms, and Handy 4G phones for complimentary international calling. Downstairs, the glass-roofed Music Garden courtyard is the place for breakfast, daily afternoon wine and cheese hour, and live music performances (all complimentary), while the fireplace- and terrace-equipped Satchmo’s lounge pairs cocktails with jazz, and the Stradivari Restaurant serves Hungarian-inspired farm-to-table menus amid strikingly bold décor. The underground Harmony Spa relaxes with holistic therapies, a heated pool, and saunas and steams rooms, while the rooftop High Note Sky Bar—open year-round—has become one of the hottest hangouts in town for its spectacular views (get there early to snag one of the floating “love nest” seating nooks). Don’t miss a visit to the lobby-level office of the in-house Musical Director, who can help plan itineraries, source tickets, create city-themed playlists, or lend you a concert DVD to watch in the hotel’s private screening room."
Aria Hotel Budapest, Pest, Budapest - Explore & Book
"From Beethoven to the Beatles, music is the be-all and end-all at Aria. There are striking piano-key floor tiles in the lobby. The central courtyard is the 'Music Garden', a ravishing, glass-ceilinged conservatory complete with a space-age piano. And the 49 beautifully designed rooms and suites each honour a musical legend - Sinatra, Stravinsky, the Stones, they’re all here. There’s even a multi-media library so you can borrow their music.Dine in style at the classy Liszt restaurant, drink cocktails in the spectacular rooftop High Note Sky Bar, or luxuriate in the subterranean spa, with its arresting neon-blue lightscape and mural of jazz musicians. Back above ground, there’s the groovy Mirror Room, whose mirrors bear signatures of celebrated guests like Plácido Domingo, and the distinctly more restrained Library, perfect for a spot of reading. When not enjoying that little lot, kick back in your room and slip on another superb soundtrack. Everyone, music lover or not, will adore Aria.

Big, for a boutique city hotel (49 rooms)Expensive for Budapest (and rates don't include tax), but utterly uniqueIn some rooms, bathtubs are located in the bedroom - not to everyone's liking - and the Opera Suites only have showersBreakfast tables are small, so get easily cluttered" - Norm Longley

The Aria Hotel is truly a 5 Star hotel! Not only is it one of the best hotels we have ever stayed but it is in a fantastic location. The staff could not do enough to insure we had a great stay. Breakfast buffet was great and to our surprise every day there was free wine and cheese in the fabulous lobby from 4-6pm, usually with a piano player and sometimes a singer too. Rooms were luxurious and very large with all the amenities.

If I could give this music themed hotel more than 5 stars, I would. The music theme is well done, starting with a statement piano and then carries through the common areas and the rooms.
The beds are comfortable, and our room was spacious. There is a pillow menu if you’d like a different pillow. I liked the techie touches from the door to the automatic window shades.
Complementary wine and cheese with music every afternoon. Friday evenings they have a small band with a singer.
The pool and jacuzzi are well done. Best jacuzzi I’ve been in.
The breakfast buffet is perhaps smaller than other hotels but excellent quality and nice presentation. Hot foods are available by order.
As you might expect, what makes a 5 Star hotel is there 5 Star staff. I was not disappointed once in the service. All staff went above and beyond to ensure our staff was exceptional.
Note: It seems to be typical in Budapest to add a 15% service charge to food and beverage orders. I’ve found the notification is generally in very small print.

Beautiful hotel. Perfectly located. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Always made time to visit The rooms were big, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We didn’t use the spa but did get massages that were amazing. Every evening was cheese, wine and music.

We loved this hotel from the moment we arrived. From the location to the musicians in the foyer to the most beautiful room, we enjoyed it all. The rooftop bar was fun with fabulous views and the staff were attentive. Less than five minutes walk to the most beautiful Basilica. We would definitely return to Aria.
