5 Postcards
Nestled among olive groves with stunning Aegean views, Amanzoe offers a blend of luxurious pavilions, private pools, and serene exclusivity for ultimate relaxation.
"Amanzoe is an ultra-luxury resort with monumental architecture inspired by Greece’s ancient heritage. The resort features a beach club with multiple pools, a Japanese restaurant, and a seaside spa. Accommodations include pavilion rooms and larger villas, with Villa 20 offering extensive amenities." - Nicola Chilton
"With views over the glitzy fray of Porto Heli Bay, this hotel is a series of set pieces: a composition of black amphorae in a soaring portico, a skylit spa framed by graceful colonnades, a yoga shala seemingly balancing on a Peloponnesian panorama. Marble-clad villas look like miniature Parthenons, only with planted roofs and plunge pools. The recurring nods to the Acropolis veer toward pastiche, yet it all hangs together because the landscape refuses to be upstaged by the monumental architecture. Other guests are barely noticeable (even the terribly famous ones). The main pool is miraculously empty, the library is all yours, and there’s always a front-row daybed at the beach club. At dusk everyone gravitates toward the circular terrace, which floats on a reflective pool, to stare as the sunset streaks the horizon fuchsia and tangerine. The beauty of Amanzoe lies in its isolation—in the stillness of the landscape and the complete absence of distraction."
"Best for: blissful isolation Poised on a hilltop with commanding views across the Peloponnese, Amanzoe, one of the most romantic hotels in Greece, is opulent in the extreme yet deliberately discreet. The setting is serene, the design muted, the mood hushed. Scattered like an amphitheater around the Mediterranean gardens are 38 pavilions (there’s nothing so plebeian as a bedroom here) that feel more like serviced apartments. Every pavilion has a bathtub big enough for two, a bed big enough for three, and a perfectly private pool bordered by fragrant shrubs, so you need never venture out. But it would be a shame to miss the sunlit spa and beach club, a chauffeur-driven ride through the olive groves. Price: from about $1,088 per night" - Rachel Howard, Lauren Burvill
"A private Greek villa with your own 72-foot private heated pool, kitchen, terrace, reflection pool, and dedicated staff is pure luxury. But your own James Turrell skyspace? Amanzoe’s hilltop resort on Greece’s Peloponnese peninsula is home to Sky Plain, the first permanent James Turrell installation in the Mediterranean."
