A chic Midtown wine bar from Le Bernardin's team serves an impressive selection of 200 wines and light French bites in a cozy, upscale atmosphere.
"Sibling to the acclaimed Le Bernardin, sommelier Aldo Sohm’s temple to wine is a grand place for a drink — with 40 pours by the glass and 200 by the bottle — and bites such as charcuterie and cheese, grilled avocado, or braised short ribs. Try and make it for the 9 p.m. hour, when Sohm often parades the room with a magnum (or larger bottle) pouring glasses for a very festive group toast." - Eater Staff, Melissa McCart
"Le Bernardin sommelier extraordinaire Aldo Sohm opened this chic wine bar in 2014, and it maintains one of the best wine lists in Midtown Manhattan. A respite from the corporate-leaning restaurants on its surrounding blocks, the space has low-slung sofas, graphic art, and glittering pendant lamps. The effect is akin to drinking in a very elegant friend's living room. Expect a mix of wine professionals and deep-pocketed executives from nearby Midtown offices, many of whom can rattle of the names of preferred vintages and intricacies of vineyard classification systems like their own phone numbers. There are 40 wines by the glass and 200 bottles on offer at any given time, spanning $15 pours of approachable Southern Italian white wines and expense-account-worthy cult bottles of Burgundy." - Emily Saladino, Devra Ferst
"Aldo Sohm is admittedly a bit expensive. It is, after all, Le Bernardin’s wine bar. But if you’re looking for an upscale place where you can meet up with someone in Midtown, this one is worth checking out—especially if you're a wine nerd who wants to talk to other wine nerds. You’ll feel a little like you’re drinking in the lobby of a corporate office building, but the setting is also oddly relaxed. You can get solid food here, too, including a charcuterie tower." - will hartman, bryan kim, kenny yang, carina finn koeppicus

"Aldo Sohm is the casual wine bar from the people who run Le Bernardin, just across the way. Being here feels like drinking in the lobby of a really nice condo, and the extremely knowledgable staff will gladly help you pick a glass or bottle from the impressive wine list. There's also a menu of snacks and small plates like shrimp cocktail, foie gras, and truffle fries (which you will definitely not see at Le Bernardin)." - neha talreja, kenny yang, bryan kim, hannah albertine
