At Jean-Georges Vongerichten's vibrant abcV, enjoy inventive plant-based dishes that shine with seasonal flair in a chic, airy setting.
"We can’t remember the last time we saw tofurkey on a Thanksgiving table, and we’re very OK with that. For an elegant, plant-based feast, visit Jean-Georges’ vegetarian restaurant in Flatiron. On Thanksgiving Day, they’ll be offering their a la carte menu, or a family-style prix-fixe menu for $148 per person that features green-thumb twists on classics like wild mushroom bourguignon, cranberry blood orange gelée, and a red kuri squash tart with banana horchata ice cream." - neha talreja, molly fitzpatrick
"This vegetarian and vegan all-day cafe is a pleaser whether it’s for a business meeting or a treat for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Dishes are colorful, fresh, and healthy with options like market beets, mushroom walnut Bolognese, dosas, and coconut sticky rice. A second location is in the Tin Building downtown." - Eater Staff
"In case you don't know, the "V" in the name of this Jean-Georges restaurant is meant to indicate that the food is vegetarian or vegan, which means you can expect dishes like chilled angel hair soba with tomato miso broth and grilled baby squash with sourdough and cucumbers. The space here has many different seating areas—in front of the window, at the bar, all along an open kitchen area—and that's before you even get to the dining room. " - kenny yang
"Whole Roasted Cauliflower "I am at abcV a lot. It's a place I like to recommend to people visiting New York, and especially to those who tend to roll their eyes at vegetarian food. The food is prepared beautifully, and is always elegant and consistent. Honestly, any place that has both dates and a whole cauliflower on the menu is somewhere I can trust. The cauliflower is tender, with welcome texture coming from the pistachios and pomegranates. Even if you’re sick of restaurants being annoying and turning cauliflower into everything (see: tortillas, chips, gnocchi, etc.), this is a cauliflower dish you won’t be mad at." - brennan carley
"Yes, this is a fancy vegetarian restaurant in a furniture store where we once saw a $30,000 quartz cluster on display. That said, it actually feels pretty relaxed. Menu highlights include the roasted head of cauliflower and the green chickpea hummus, and while not everything is cheese-free, you’ll still have plenty of options (including juices and “vibration” drinks that are more expensive than some cocktails, but still less expensive than that quartz)." - emma mustich
