"Abba Rambla In the bohemian district of Barcelona ’s Ciutat Vella (Old City), Abba Rambla is a simple but modern hotel whose friendly service and great location make it a perennial favorite. The neutral-toned lobby sits next to an impressively funky breakfast area that has high wooden tables and bar stools, dangling designer lamps, and brown-and-cream armchairs for post-prandial lounging. Rooms are a blend of the comfortable and the functional, favoring pale woods, bright and breezy colors, and crisp white linens. All modern conveniences are present, from well-stocked minibars and satellite TVs (some are plasma) to free internet access, and you can choose from views of the hills or of the charming square outside. Extra beds are also available for family rooms."

A nice hotel in the heart of Barcelona, very close to the Ramblas and to the Barrio Gótico. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good with loads of options, including coeliacs. Rooms were big, comfy and very clean. I have been there twice this summer, once on my own and once with my daughter. I felt safe the whole time in the area, just did not walk alone at night through certain streets (as I would not do in many other places, not just Barcelona). Better call a taxi or vtc!

So far so good! First afternoon in the hotel, Well situated, helpful reception staff and easy reach of restaurants and bars! Will update as required!😄 The update: we stayed for 5 days, The hotel is perfectly situated for the Ramblas and the Harbour area both 5 minutes walk away through beautiful streets and architecture . The staff at the hotel were always extremely helpful and helped book a taxi back to the airport. The taxi cost about 35 EURO each way to the door. the shuttle bus was cheaper but x2 worked out the same price and no walking. The rooms were made up each day to a high standard . Our room had a bath and shower, again cleaned each day. The view out of our window wasn't good but we didn't ask for that. The plaza out the front had many bars and eateries and would think at peak time busy and noisy. The walk down to the harbour area is easy and tour bus's run every few mins to visit the city. Would use this hotel again when in Barcelona.

Very clean and quiet rooms in a great location in Barcelona 🥰 Breakfast is also really good! But the biggest highlight is the staff at the reception-Aimee and Sol, thank you so much for your wonderful service and support! They took the time to recommend the best places in Barcelona, which made our trip unforgettable. Always so welcoming and with such kind smiles 😊 Fabulous

A gem of a hotel with great staff. Very clean. The renovated rooms are small but nice. The buffet breakfast has a lot of choices. The hot food isn’t always hot, but there’s a microwave. Although it’s out of the hotel’s control, unfortunately, the area it’s in, Rambla del Raval, is not a good one for tourists. Any hint of Barcelona and Spain has disappeared as the Spanish businesses are shuttered and the residents are gone. Fortunately the tourist area of Rambla is less than a 10 minute walk away and the marina about 10-15 minutes, although I wouldn’t recommend walking after dark. The staff told us which streets were safer to walk. If not for that, I would have given the hotel a 4-5 star rating.

Just an overnight stop on way back from Valencia to London by train. Needed to be short taxi from station and was good location for that. The hotel faces on to a square which is lively and pretty. Rooms are quiet even facing on to the square. Bedrooms are a good size and beds are comfortable. Bathroom good too. Friendly and helpful desk service - booked taxis to station which were on time.

Stayed at this hotel with my family. Glad weI chose this location as it was easy to get around. Only a 7-10 minute walk to the train station and La Rambla was a 10 minute walk away. Only thing is the restaurants on this street aren't the best looking or suitable for using children as they have no facilities. But as La Rambla is not far, it still works. Out room was clean and the bed was very spacious. Only down side was that the air conditioning in our room was not working properly and temperatures were very high outside. Member of staff at reception was very helpful as she offered us a triple room instead but we would not have been able to have the baby cot and we may have had to move again to another room the following night. So we didn't take that option due to the disruption it would cause us. Hopefully this gets sorted out soon. Overall, nice hotel and good service.

Lovely clean hotel & staff were happy & friendly. The breakfast selection was fantastic there was ample choice including drinks. All the common areas were very clean & the hotel is well maintained. The hotel is a 15 minute walk to the main square & a taxi to the airport was €35. |The hotel room had sealed bath sponges, combs & dental kits for each person. There was also shampoo & body wash supplied which was fine for washing your body but not great for our hair ( 3 women travelling).

Cancelled my booking - no response from hotel and room readvertised at a higher rate. ||We booked more than a month in advance to secure a good price, around £111. 3 weeks before we are due to go I get a message to say the booking is cancelled. No explanation. Is the hotel closed for refurbishment perhaps? No the dates are still being advertised but now the nearest alternative is £182. ||No replay from the hotel so I would book elsewhere as it would be difficult to trust they wouldn’t cancel last minute to get more money and you will be left without a hotel and needing to pay extra for an alternative.

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel during my visit to Barcelona and it was chosen by my travel mate due to its proximity to Las Ramblas (less than 10 minutes walking). The 3-star hotel is a little bit dated but still acceptably clean. The twin room I stayed in was reasonably sized and the two single beds were comfortable. The air conditioning unit was hard set to blow warm air once turned on, although we needed it to blow cool air. The receptionist said that all hotel's a/c units will be reconfigured the following day to blow cool air but that didn't happen. We resorted to keep the balcony door open, but that led the noise to come in, especially in the morning (and Spain is a noisy country compared to northern Europe). The hotel respected my request to have a quite room on a higher floor. The staff were friendly and respectful. The toilet was clean and warm water was available at high pressure for bathing. Transportation links surrounds the hotel (L3 metro line: 3 stations within 10 minutes walking, L2 metro line: 2 stations within 10 minutes walking, L1 metro line: 2 stations within 15 minutes walking) and Catalunya Square is only a 15-minute walk away. There is a taxi rank opposite the hotel should you need one, although mytaxi mobile app is useful in having one at your doorstep. The hotel is located in a neighborhood having both Moroccan and Pakistani communities. This means that restaurants and convenience stores catering exotic and Halal food for the 2 communities are everywhere in the vicinity of the hotel. I recommend this hotel for solo and group travelers wanting to stay near the Rambla.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here on our final leg of our Spanish honeymoon. While the reviews cautioned that this was in a more dangerous neighborhood, we found it to be lively and delightful. It was nice not staying directly on Las Ramblas, as the commotion there could get to be a bit much. We were a quick walk from Las Ramblas (less than ten minutes) and to a few metro stations as well. They did offer a continental breakfast, but at 12 euros or so, we never made that our breakfast place. There is a cute cafe next door for an affordable breakfast and a cafe con leche. We dined there each morning for about 5 euros per person. There are also many other little restaurants nearby that were quite good within a 5 minute walk. We appreciated that so we could avoid the tourist traps on Las Ramblas serving overpriced mediocre food. Prices were fair for the space. I think we paid approximately 125 USD each night for our room, which was pretty reasonable. The hotel was modern and clean. The rooms were comfortable and spacious for European hotel standards with newer bathrooms. Wifi was free. My only gripe was that for each time you wanted to log on, you had to be in the lobby and get a password. While I appreciated not having to incur an additional fee for this service, the passwords often didn't work, leading us to not have internet access. There is a desktop computer in the lobby for guest use, which is convenient. All in all, I'd stay here again. I can see why some might find the location a bit seedy, but I appreciated the fact that we glimpsed many vibrant cultures that make up the truly European city of Barcelona. Be cautious, and take a taxi if you don't feel comfortable. That being said, we didn't use taxis, aside from to get to the airport the morning we left. The hotel was kind enough to call us one that morning.

Yelp
2 beds pushed together, but not even locked so wheels kept moving the beds around-very uncomfortable as well. Safe didn't work. Breakfast buffet was better than I thought it would be, but not complimentary. Only shampoo no conditioner. Hotel not clean enough for me.

Yelp
Just back in the US after a month in Europe, the last week spent at the Abba Rambla, what a finale, from check in to departure, the desk staff greeted us with genuine smiles and concern it was smooth and quick, our room was quite larde by European standards and lookes out onto a tree lined square, just what i needed to get the feel of the city, the breakfasrt buffet was amazing with selections to satisfy every palate, room was spotless and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay, again, cant speak to highly of the staff, helpfull in every way, directions, booking theatre tickets a nd tour, oh and taxis, the location is a short 7-8 minute walk from the chaotic La Rambla and I took a different street every time I headed that way, once again I thank the staff for sharing your personalities and your City, PJC Venice Florida USA
