A'DAM Lookout

One of the best experiences I had in the city! I had a wonderful day! I booked online a tour and burger menu, I arrived at 1 pm and left and 9 pm so I enjoyed the city in morning and with evenings lights. The view is amazing., 360*all around Amsterdam. The sky bar is so nuts . I had two tequila sunrises really well done 👍🏻, and also burger was good ! I will back for sure for spend another day off chilling with Amsterdam view. Really recommend!

Surprisingly fun. A light show on the way up, lovely green screen opportunities and the swing experience was terrifying but made for good photos oops and adrenaline. It's truly upsetting though that they charge €29 for the video they record of you, which is more than the swing and admission fee combined but if you're okay with just photos, I'd highly recommend it

The building has plenty to explore, from a small cinema and photo spots to restaurants, bars, and, of course, the swing—which was an unforgettable experience. Very nice experience. The bar view is breathtaking and the swing experience is so exiting. You can enjoy the view both from the 360 degrees windows that surround the bar and from the terrace on the roof. There are also telescopes to look around the city from that high spot. The swing experience is totally worth the price and they take care of the photo and videos. Super recommend.

The experience starts as soon as you go up the first flight of stairs where there is an opportunity to have your photo taken. Then it is into the lift, which has a light show as you speed up. The views from the inside and outside observation decks are great, with free telescopes and lots of information about the building and it's history. We paid for the swing, which was a short but exhilarating experience! We had also paid for a burger and a drink with our entry ticket, burger was nice but nothing special. I would recommend getting a ticket in advance as the queues to buy on the day looked quite long.

We first had a drink in the restaurant where we admired the view and then went up to the Lookout. The staff will take photos and a 360-degree video of your swing adventure. These are for sale. I bought the tickets a month in advance, including the boat ride package, which I highly recommend. I was looking for boat tours, and when I found out they offered them, I didn’t hesitate. The boat was nice; covered and comfortable and the captain was excellent! He explained everything really well, with just the right amount of humor, helping us get to know the city while having a good laugh. They sell drinks on board; we got Heineken for €8. The ride lasts about an hour and a half, which is just the right amount of time. Afterward, we went up to the building, and it’s a great place to hang out. Unfortunately, I couldn’t enter the building before the boat and to go back for the swing, so I couldn’t stay long in the building. Once you leave the building, you can’t return. The swing experience was fantastic! There were three of us, and I was lucky to go twice, once with each person. They took three pictures, which wasn’t quite enough for me, but it was still worth it. They don't let you take pictures while you are in line, so on the left side there is a point where you go up a few stairs and there they come out perfect! The building also has a small cinema, plenty of photo spots, restaurants, bars, and a great souvenir store! To get to the building there is a ferry that is free and leaves from the Central.

Swing Over The Edge Used the I Amsterdam Card to go to the top of the A'DAM Lookout Tower for a beautiful 360 birds-eye view of Amsterdam. Definitely climb up the stairs to the roof for an open air experience. Want a little extra adrenaline rush? Swing over the edge on Europe's highest swing. Dangle your feet in the sky and enjoy the feel of the open air. SO MUCH FUN!! Take the free ferry from Amsterdam Centraal to reach the A'DAM Lookout Tower. The A'DAM Lookout Tower is on the I Amsterdam Card. The swing is 7.50 euros in addition to the entry for the tower. So worth it.

I was afraid to do this, as I don't like rollercoasters because of the motion making me sick. I was in Amsterdam with 4 other girls and they all encouraged me to go on the swing. It's about a minute if I'm remembering correctly and was under $20. It was actually raining a little bit while we were set to get on the swing. You are still allowed to get on if the rain isn't too bad. They take a video of you, which you get on the QR code from when you take your pictures before getting on the swing. It was a good experience although I was ready to get down after my legs swung twice lol you can ask them to let you down before the time if you want to. The views were pretty and so was the whole building itself. Pretty cool experience and I can't forget the elevator ride. We actually ate next door and didn't do the food bundle here so I can't quite speak on that.

This place is pretty amazing and has something for just about everyone! Came here to ride the swing that takes you out over the edge of the building! Also wanted to have a beer and some appetizers on the top floor which hosts a trendy bar / restaurant with great views and a section of glass floor you can look down! Service was extremely slow in the restaurant. Took a long time to be greeted and given menus. Another long wait for drinks and even longer for food ( thought they forgot about our food). Friendly but slow.

This was such a cool experience, my husband and I travelled to Amsterdam for his 40th birthday and we thought the best way to celebrate such a big milestone was for him to swing off of the A'Dam Lookout. Super easy to purchase tickets online and get across from the Amsterdam Central, the staff here are really friendly. We had a suitcase from our shopping spree at Primark and the team member let us leave it with him. I am afraid of heights so I really rallied for my husband, I took videos of him swinging along and I even got some courage to take photos close to the edge, such a cool experience!

This is one of our least favorite tourist attractions that we did. I was really excited for the lookout because of the videos I saw online, but it was pretty expensive for a extremely short amount of time. There are two different ticket options. One is a ticket to just get you up to the top of the observation deck and then there is a separate ticket in order to do the swing. The swing lasted about a minute and that included being raised up and lowered down. So for the amount of money that you pay, I don't think it's worth it because you don't really get to experience being up and out swinging for very long. It's almost like you blink and I and it's over. so my suggestion would be to pay for the ticket option to get you to the top of the observation deck. There a place that you could take a picture with the name and you could see all around the city being up that high.

My goodness. Where do I start? Heard about this place on social media. Wanted to see the views that it offered. Upon entering, there were ticket packages that you could choose between VR roller coaster, swing, drinks etc. From there, we were escorted to the top. There was a bar, music, outside things to do and more. The views were absolutely amazing. To stand and lookout over the city... it was breathtaking. I'm ready to go back.

The high rise tower is right across the river from Amsterdam Central Station. There is a free ferry that runs day and night. This was my third trip to Amsterdam, I'm glad that I discovered the free ferry and this side of the river. The 22 story high rise was formerly offices for Royal Dutch Shell. They did a complete overhaul into a tourist destination. The swing off the side of the building is one of the World's best thrill rides. The VR roller coaster (Premium VR headset Meta (Facebook) Oculus) was a great way to get introduced to VR virtual reality headsets.

For Amsterdam, this lookout is pretty fun. Do the swings and get a view atop the tower. I don't think there's too much else that is like this in Amsterdam. My only beef with this place is it was open kinda late. I wish they had opened earlier since there was already a long line of folks who wanted to go in

Super cute activity I did with my mom. Loved all the different interactive activities along the way. We took a green screen photo together, explored the mini museum, they even have a scenic bathroom, and a really cool rooftop. Lots of space to take in the views, lounge on some beanbags, and take photos on platforms. A great 360 view of the city and a really fun, slightly terrifying swing. It's really safe and the staff were extra friendly and helped take really cute photos. Definitely a nice activity for a tourist.

Fun but overcrowded during summer. Photo ops are cool, you can see the port the railway station and whole city. Beer and drinks galore!

I came here on a weekday morning at 10am and the entire lookout was basically empty. Although I had a timed ticket for 11, they let me hop on the swing early. I'm so glad I came here, the view was great and the service was excellent. I did not realize how much "swing over the edge" was true!! The swing goes both up and out pretty high, making for an exhilarating experience, with a view. I would recommend stopping by and if you go when they first open in the morning, you'll be able to avoid a crowd! My one thing that I would like to add is that the elevator ride up has a "light show" that was not notated anywhere and is no epilepsy friendly--for anyone wary of that.

A'ADAM Lookout was a cool experience with great views. As you climb to the 20th floor of a large skyscraper you are entertained with a fun elevator with an ongoing light show. I hade purchased the full experience which included the swing on the top, the VR and the observation deck. The observation deck gives incredible panoramic views of historical Amsterdam. For the thrill seeker in all of us the A'dam lookout swing dares to take you over the edge of the tall building. This short but fun experience is worth it! The views were incredible. Why only four stars? To be honest.... we have the VR Oculus Quest 2, this over-the-counter system offers a more realistic experience than the visuals provided by the system at the A'dam Lookout. Perhaps an experience better suited for a younger less experienced and critical person. GET RESERVATIONS if you wish to eat at the restaurant; a step I wish I had taken so that we could have comfortably taken in the views for a longer period of time. It was full and there was not even an option to wait. Overall great experience!

Spent about 3 days in Amsterdam and we spent the last day at A'dam! Absolutely loved it up there. You get an amazing view of the entire city! It was a bit gloomy and rainy but it was def worth it. The weather just felt right and being able to take all in. The staff was extremely nice and even let me ride twice once with my best friend and then with my boyfriend. They also have this cute bar at the top that gives you a 360view of the city inside. Their food is pretty good as well if you are visiting def worth trying. Also an added bonus you get to ride the ferry to get to A'dam!

The best of Amsterdam You can just hangout enjoy the view and have a cup of coffee. It's a family friendly place. Will visit again and again! Will recommend to a friend yes.

I took the free ferry across the water to A'DAM lookout, staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. I went early so it wasn't too busy. You are asked to sit in front of a green screen and get photos with Amsterdam as the backdrop, then you will enter a lift that has an exciting light show all the way up to the 22nd floor where there is more photo opportunities with the A'DAM sign and atop a horse and of course there is the over the edge swing which was such a thrilling experience. It was scarier and faster than I imagined it was going to be but once over that initial fear it's a great experience and I would highly recommend and afterwards grab yourself a drink and a bean bag and think about what the hell you just did and pat yourself on the back! You are given a card with a barcode in order to purchase and download photos and a video as proof that you went on the swing and you survived. The gift shop is great too with cool 3D postcards, posters, pens, homeware games, toys and sweets. However it is quite costly and if it wasn't for the swing there is not much else that I would want to see or do here.

I would recommend booking ticket online beforehand so when you go to the place, you don't have to wait in the que to buy. I got a ticket for the viewing deck with the add on of the swing. I highly recommend this option as it was only £6 additional. I went to the lookout half hour before the swing ticket time and near sunset hour. There are ways to view through binoculars and see the listing of spots surrounding the whole deck. If you enjoy the background and history of places would recommend the little cinema. It's free and the video is informative as far as history and the purpose of the tower. I didn't stay past 9pm when it becomes a club and night out spot but it was a great place to see the sunset over the Amsterdam skyline.

Came here after a night of walking around the city. I found this spot on a website. I Google'd 'what to do in Amsterdam at night' and this popped up. The views are wonderful. If you plan to make it a night here, make sure to bring plenty of money . The drink here are not cheap. For two vodka mix drinks we paid $25. I tried to convince my hubby to try the swings, but he said only if I would and THAT WAS NOT GONNA HAPPEN . They said it was the tallest swing in Europe. No thank you. The views were unmistakable even at night. I can image this place busy during summer months as it wasn't busy on Halloween night.

Randomly searching for, "things to do in Amsterdam" while my jet lagged was raging, I found the A'DAM Lookout , which for some reason I thought was in Rotterdam, but is actually right in Amsterdam. When traveling I feel a little more adventurous so I took the ferry over from Amsterdam Centraal and headed into the building. There are multiple options here much like any touristy building with views, I opted for the standard entrance which was 14 Euro, I do believe it's cheaper booking online. When you enter they immediately take your photo behind a green screen for future purchases/downloads later. Once through you take the elevator up which features a really cool light show. Now, the day I was here it was super windy. Like weather warning winds. But I noticed the swing at the top of the building was still running. I said, "what the hell" and bought a 5 euro ticket to ride the swing. Before I get there, at the roof top there are some amazing photo ops and views of the city you should really take in. Honestly, it was so windy for me it wasn't enjoyable. Now the swing. They'll take your photo for you (on their phone which you can purchase later). Overall, I think the swing is about 45 seconds but no more than a minute. I was utterly terrified, mainly due to the wind but also because of the height. It's freaking high you guys. It was nice. I was happy I did it, but once was enough for sure. One level below there is a restaurant and seating areas where you can enjoy the views without experiencing the elements.

Pretty cool thing and tourist-y thing to do. Last day in Amsterdam, I have been seeing this building all days that I was there and finally got to go to it. To get here, I took a quick ferry ride over from Amsterdam Centraal. (I get a lot of motion sickness, but since the ferry ride was so quick, I had no problems). I was there the first thing in the morning, so there was not a lot of people around. I also bought a City Pass so the ride to the observation deck was free. The elevator was super cool (lots of lights) and in a few minutes I was at the top. I decided to try the swings (why not?!) for 5 Euros. And, it was definitely a cool experience. I am not super scared of heights, but even I was a little scared. The only thing is if you want a photo, they will not take one with your camera. Instead, they will take one for you (a few of them) and you can purchase a physical copy downstairs or I believe you can also download a copy for your social media. I passed on buying a physical copy, but the photos came out pretty cool, so I will definitely download a copy. After the swings, I went back inside and there was a cool restaurant (it was warm inside on a cold day) and I had breakfast there. It was cool because I got breakfast with a view. The price was average, but who can beat the view. I would definitely come back here (not sure if it is worth paying to go up to the deck, but if part of a City Pass again, I would definitely come back).

This is a fun spot and a definite must to do while touring Amsterdam. It's basically viewing the entire city from the top deck from different vantage points. The elevator ride is a lot of fun going all the way up to the top floor and once you get there, that's when you can see the entire city and it's a gorgeous sight. At night it does get kind of cold and we were feeling the breeze and the chills. There's also a swing that you can ride on which is about five euros extra but it's suspended from the building and you have to be a daredevil to get on it. It's about a 5 to 7 minute ride in the swing with nothing underneath you but hundreds of feet below ground. It's intimidating. My oldest son got onto it and he said he had a great time. My younger two kids kind of backed out which kind of made me back out also as somebody had to look after them while the oldest one was enjoying the ride. They have a restaurant towards the top floor and it's a popular spot to dine and enjoy the view. If you do visit Amsterdam, make sure to make a pitstop at Adam look out. It's very close to the centraal station. #ENJOY

Good for experiencing the views of Amsterdam. My family and I went on the swing atop the building and had a good time. However, if you are a thrill seeker, be aware that the swing does not move very fast. Would recommend going on the swing once if you feel an inclination to, but not any more times afterward. One bonus, however, is that we were able to download our pictures for free online!

We came to the Lookout as part of our Heineken Experience (3 in 1 package with Heineken brewery tour, canal cruise, and entry to the Lookout). We came on a foggy, rainy, windy day so, although the views from the top were beautiful, it definitely wasn't the best part of the day. It also wasn't the best day to take a whirl on the swing located at the rooftop, but we figured, when in Rome... The swing experience will set you back an extra 5€ per person. Because of the garbage weather, there was almost no wait for the swing. We were some of the only looney bins willing to brave the wind and rain to swing in the sky over Amsterdam. The smartest move on our part? Absolutely not. Did I have a panic attack while flying in the sky? Yes. Cool experience? I'd say so. The staff take "complimentary" pictures for you on their phone which you can pick up, and overpay for, before you leave. I was upset that they tried to get money out of us for the photos when these indeed are supposed to be free, as many have mentioned in previous reviews. What the hell? I found that to be really rude since these are supposed to be "complimentary" so we opted to not get copies. Thankfully another group was able to snap some pics of us on our own phones so we were set. This experience was okay. I wouldn't do it again though.

Fun observation tower and deck with a rooftop bar and Europe's highest swing. My friends and I visited A'DAM Lookout, as tourists do, and we had a fun time. What's super cool about A'DAM Lookout is that it's easy to get to. We were in the city centre of Amsterdam, so we learned that to get across the water to A'DAM, we can take a free 15-minute ferry from the Amsterdam Centraal. Once we docked it was a short walk to the tower. There are different ticket options. The basic ticket just gets you to the deck and there's the ultimate experience, which includes a ride on the swing on the deck. We decided to get the ticket that includes two drink tickets at the rooftop bar or bar inside the restaurant located here. For only a few euros more it's worth the extra money. As with most towers, only a certain amount of people can go up at a certain time and there's someone that operates the elevator for you. Once we got up to the observation deck, there were actually only a few people outside versus inside of the deck because it was so windy! But I would recommend checking out the outdoor area, even just for a little bit, as you get a better view of the city. And you can also watch people swinging on the deck. There were plenty of tables and chairs right outside the outdoor bar where we had our first drink. Note that the drink tokens for your ticket is only good for wine and beer. The inside part of the observation deck was much busier. There wasn't a lot of seating to hang out in, so a lot of people were sitting on the floor by the window, which we ended up doing. The bar that's here is for the restaurant, so many of the A'DAM tourists weren't able to get seats since it was reserved for the diners. We even tried to get a table, with the intention to get bites, but the whole place was booked up. I'd highly recommend making reservations if you plan to eat in the restaurant here. However, we still had a nice time, hanging out for our last drink and observing the views. If you're touring Amsterdam for the first time and have the time, I'd say A'DAM Lookout is worth checking out. Compared to other lookouts in major cities, it lacks in information of the sights you're seeing, as there is nothing here that tells you what certain sites or landmarks are that you're seeing. But the views sure are pretty and Amsterdam is just so damn awesome. You'll have a good time.

If you're ever in Amsterdam this should be on your top 5 things to do list! Such a fun experience! I loved the observation deck which showed 360 degree panoramic views of Amsterdam, you could even see the historical center and canals from the top. If you're a thrill seeker, I highly recommend getting on the swing. It's called 'Over the Edge' and is said to be Europe's highest swing. It's about 100 meters above the ground, and hangs back and forth over the edge of the tower. The day we went it was raining very hard but that didn't stop our fun! There was a long line too but it went quick. The rush was amazing especially when you have Amsterdam hanging below your feet. We got our tickets online for about 13 euros, the swing was 5 euros extra but def. worth it. They also have a restaurant on site, we didn't get to try it but it looked nice.

First time in Amsterdam! You have to go here. Loved the inside. Had a glass of wine (great options) in the M'Adam bar. So beautiful at night, great atmosphere and great view. We went on a swing at 8pm and I would suggest going in daytime so you can get pictures and see everything in a different view. Go look at the cityview, take pictures on a big red horse, drink, eat, buy, rest, have fun, all in the same building. Phenomenal.

We caught a free ferry ride from Amsterdam Centraal... which took 5min and the ferries are available every 10min or so to get to this attraction. The view at the top is absolutely spectacular and breathtaking. An absolute must-see for anyone visiting Amsterdam. There is an indoor viewing area where you can also order food while you dine on top of the world and an outdoor sky deck bar complete with Europe's tallest swing that puts you over the edge. It was scary for the first 20 seconds but the beautiful view and experience was totally worth it. The total swing experience was only 2mins long from the moment you sit on the swings. The staff crew also took photos of us which are available for purchase later on. The swing experience was £5 pp and we got in the lookout deck for free with the 'I Amsterdam' passes.

I have to agree with another reviewer. Amsterdam is better enjoyed from the ground. But if you do want a birds eye view, this is where you can do it. I signed up for it out of convenience. I was at Heineken and for just a bit more, you gain admission here and get a canal cruise. My hostel was around the corner on the same side of the water, so I spent the extra few euros for kicks. The view is very beautiful. I was there at night. You can see "AMSTERDAM" on Central Station and all. Neat. Before you take the trippy elevator, they have you take posed photos with a green screen. They're free to download online with a special code. I didn't spend long here, but I bet it's awesome in the warmer months.

I had an amazing time on the A'DAM lookout! There are plenty of photo opportunities from the swings, horses, and the amazing view you get of the city. I'd recommend going close to sunset. The city looks amazing during the day, but if you stay long enough you can also get a glimpse of what it looks like at night as well. If you're looking to do the swings just know that it lasts for about 2 minutes. I think we paid 5 euros to do it. I'd recommend just giving this a try if you go. They try to assign everyone times to avoid huge lines. It can be scary at first but after a while you're captured by the view of the city and less worried about how high you are. The swings were secure so I never felt I was in danger. Tip: The staff do take pictures of you on the swing and in front of a green screen before you head up the elevator to the top of the tower. You can download those photos at no additional cost since it is included in your ticket but there is an opportunity in the gift shop to get them printed if you decide that you'd like to buy their printed version.

The highest point in the city, A'DAM Lookout is a wonderful place to grab a drink and take in breathtaking views of the city of Amsterdam. Just a shory ferry ride from Amsterdam Centraal (which is a free ferry ride across the river) you walk towards the building and you can buy your tickets to access the rooftop. You can buy combination tickets which will also include a 1-hour canal cruise which you can find outside the main entrance of Amsterdam Centraal. When you reach the top, apart from the breathtaking views, you can sit back and relax in the casual lounge type atmosphere while enjoying beverages and snacks. There are amazing areas to take photographs and amazing view points. Europe's largest swing, Over the Edge, is here where you can climb onto the seat and literally swing over the edge of the building for a once in a lifetime experience like none other. There are just so many things we love about the amazing city of Amsterdam, and this happens to be one of them.

What a fantastic place with the best views for Amsterdam!! The views are breath taking when you go all up to the top. You also have the opportunity to purchase snacks, beer, etc I enjoyed a rose wine with a truffle velvet cake. The cake may look really sweet but it wasn't sweet at all. I highly recommend you check out this lookout if your in the Amsterdam area!

I love a good view of whatever city im visiting. I feel like the admission price just to go up (13 euro) is a bit much just for a weird elevator ride up and a picture but i paid it because I wanted to see the view. The swing ($5 euro) was super cheap so in my head i just switched the prices. I didnt eat at the restaurant but the views were AMAZING. I appreciate all the seating they have as i had to wait an hour for my swing time and hanging out on the bean bags made it worth it. The swing itself was fun, i wish it lasted longer and the camera on the swing actually took pictures. The pictures that i got as keepsakes were taken by the staff from behind, while they were cool its a little awkward to only have photos of the back of my head. Overall it was a cool experience and i would do it again just for the swing.

One of the coolest things I've ever experienced! So unique and I would definitely recommend to anyone going who is planning a trip to Amsterdam. While we waited for our time slot, we checked out the indoor lounge for a beer and I would definitely recommend that if it's too cold to hang out outside.

When you're in Amsterdam, I highly suggest visiting this place. The views are stunning! They have a full service restaurant if you wish to dine there. Plus, you have to check out the swing called Over The Edge. They advertise it as Europe's Highest Swing. It's pretty high alright. They have two swings side by side and it's very secure. Plus, we were able to get someone to take pictures for us. Before we left, we stopped at the restaurant to get a drink. We took an uber there, but were able to get back by ferry. The ferry ride was nice & I got an amazing sunset picture!

Great place to see the city skyline, especially at sunset. 360 views of one of my favorite cities! Also, although a short ride, do the swing, it was fun!

Amazing view! Wish the ride was longer but it's only $5 euro extra to ride the swing. So worth it. They have a bar up here also. If you buy the premium tickets they give you two free drinks. You can use it here for soda, wine or beer. They also have a small glass bottom for extra photos. Best lookout point I have been. Plenty of room and not over crowded.

At first I didn't know how to get to this place. Later I found out that you actually can take a FREE ferry across from the station (2 minute ride). So I almost left Amsterdam without doing this due to lack of knowledge Had lots of fun swinging over Amsterdam! You get to take fun photos (2) once you arrive and an elevator light show. The view was great and the waiting area indoors is nice. Would recommend!

This was so fun! I would recommend the swing on the roof, if you aren't too scared of heights. There is a fun animated photo included in the cost which is awesome. And a great bar on one of the upper levels! Would recommend going at sunset

A great experience. The ferry over from Central Station is free. The swing is an additional fee but it includes free digital photos. You use the card they give you and go to their website and download the free digital images. That is a huge plus. You don't have to buy them unless you want them to print them for you. Then you can buy packages. We only got the free digital ones. We got an entry that included two drinks. You basically get beer, wine or a soda. You can get your drink at the bar at the top or in the inside bar. You don't have to wait for your swing time. We went when we wanted. Nice views from the top. We enjoyed the experience.

Great views of the city! You have the option to go to the roof top or view from the inside. Great location for panoramic views. On the way up, you stop for 2 pictures in front of a green screen. For an additional 5 Euros, you can get on the swing (Over The Edge) for a minute and 30 second ride over the edge of the building. You also take 3 pictures on the swing and a video of your experience. You can choose to purchase hard copies of your pictures or have your pictures and video emailed to you. Very cool experience, I recommend it to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

Amsterdam has a new rooftop bar with the best view. It is pricy to go up, €15 per person. After paying the entrance you can get your picture taking, where it looks like you're sitting on a construction beam outside. It's a bit corny, but funny as well. The elevator ride going up is funny as well. The elevator roof is from glass and in the elevator shaft they have made a light show. Arriving at the 20th floor you have an amazing view!!! The restaurant looks trendy, and from your table you look out over the city. Our lunch was very good. We had the carpacio sandwich and ceasar salad. I enjoyed it a lot to be tourist in my own town and I love the view!! But I must admit Amsterdam has stolen my heart a long time ago. So I love looking out over the city. I do find it a bit dissapointing that it costs €15 to go up. I would love to come back for dinner or drinks, but with this entrance price I'm affraid it will stay with this one time.

Madam is the name of the café and restaurant on the top floor of the former Shell building. Nowhere else in Amsterdam offers you such a spectacular view while being able to enjoy a drink or a bite to eat. Not even the soon to be opened restaurant one floor below. (But that will also offer something unique in Amsterdam - it rotates!) The A'DAM Lookou experience costs €15 during the day for the funky light and sound shows in the elevator (different going up and down), for access to the roof (aka the "sky deck") and you get a "green screen" photo of your party. Of course, you also get access to the top floor where Madam is and where you can view a model of the tower, see a model of the city with informative light shows (such as seeing how the city expanded over time), get infomation about buildings or areas from touch screen monitors (that were extremely unreliable) and you can also have the thrill of standing over a glass section of the floor offering you a very scary view down to the ground. Fortunately the sky deck is surrounded by a fence high enough to prevent someone scared of heights from feeling ill at ease. The size of the mesh is large enough to allow the lens of a compact camera to pass through and if that isn't enough, in a few places there are extra wide openings specially for taking pictures. (Owners of slippery iPhone 6s will need to be extra careful!) Probably the best vantage point at the top floor is, strangely enough, from inside the toilets. Yes, weird! And, of course, you can have something to eat or drink at Madam while enjoying the panoramic views. Courtesy of Yelp, my visit was free and like the previous reviewer, I would also be reluctant to pay €15 for this experience. Especially considering that you have to "exit through the gift shop." After all, if you make a reservation for the restaurant you can come and enjoy the views for free. And after 22:00, there is neither an entrance fee nor a requirement to patron the restaurant. I will return to have dinner here sometime. Note: I was here on the first day of the "soft" opening. There was still construction/decoration work going on. We were told that there will be swings on the sky deck soon that will give you the impression of swinging out over the edge. It sounds horrendous to me but maybe you like that sort of thing. I haven't seen the green screen photo yet but I guess it will look like we are sitting on the edge of the roof in a rather precarious way. The photo should have been available online 2.5 hours after been taken but even after 5.5 hours there is no sign of it. Teething troubles, maybe, but it was not at all busy today. Also disconcerting that the touchscreen monitors were hardly functional and that within a hour or two of opening.

One of the best towers I've been on. The view is incredible (didn't do the swing) The experience is absolutely worth the price. Cocktails were good and affordable.

We loved it up here!!! Definitely a hidden gem. It was really easy to take the (free!!) ferry across to here and we were even able to bring our bikes. Just being on the ferry was an experience in and of itself. We did not get a chance to try the cocktails or anything but we did do the lookout swing which was INCREDIBLE. The view we got was perfect, we had great weather when we went and we were able to see the whole city. The swing is not expensive and if you do not have a fear of heights I highly recommend this experience. When you enter they have you take some pictures staged with a green screen behind you which is really cute. And you can download them for free at the end. Also, the elevator ride to the roof is like a willy wonka experience in and of itself.

Nice views with great photo opportunities! You must pay the extra for the swing. It was terrifyingly awesome! They take pretty cool pics for you in which you can pay for them to print or save them to your phone FOR FREE! They also take a video of you while you are on the swing! There's a bar with bar food for sale and music playing while you're admiring the views! Must go while in Amsterdam. Oh, be careful of getting off that horse! It made an unexpected move and I fell off, HARD! I'm ok.

This was a really cool way to see the city from a different perspective! There are cool photo opportunities like the horse and A'DAM sign at the top. The elevator ride up and down was one of the most exciting parts for me. The day we went was incredibly windy, so the swing was closed. Although this was totally understandable considering how windy it was, it was pretty disappointing and no one told us it would be closed prior to us getting to the top and seeing for ourselves no one was working it. Maybe call ahead or ask in line to confirm the swing is running if the weather seems questionable. This didn't ruin or experience though and I still recommend going to the top even if you don't/can't do the swing. We didn't eat at the rotating restaurant, but we stopped by to see it and that looked pretty cool too. They take photos of you in the beginning with a green screen that are kind of fun that you can buy in the gift shop. The gift shop also has cool sweatshirts

Took a solo trip to Amsterdam and was brave enough to swing high about city with a stunning skyline as a backdrop. I was a little scared but settled down after a minute or so. I'm glad I experience it! I recommend it!
