All the Key Hotels with Star Restaurants in the UK & Ireland

"A Two-Key Hotel with a One-Star restaurant, Sushi Kanesaka, located in London, England." - The MICHELIN Guide

"The number 45 rules at this five-star spot: not only does it denote the property’s address on tony Park Lane, but also how far it is by car from both Heathrow and City Airports (about 45 minutes in normal traffic), and how many rooms and suites it holds—well, make that 46, counting the Penthouse Suite. A member of the Dorchester Collection group, the intimate 45 Park Lane opened in 2011, just opposite The Dorchester hotel, and acts a bit like that icon’s younger, more modern sister, with contemporary-leaning décor by noted architect-designer-artist Thierry Despont. Common spaces feature bespoke furniture and carpets, eye-catching light fixtures, and an artsy flair, while rooms (29 of which are suites) come with Hyde Park views, Bang & Olufsen BeoVision 10-46 TVs, Aromatherapy Associates amenities and—in the penthouse—a wrap-around roof terrace. In addition to displaying hand-picked pieces by noted artists like Damien Hirst and Sir Peter Blake throughout the building, the hotel hosts an artist-in-residence program and regular exhibits that spotlight emerging talent. Culinary expertise is celebrated, too—focusing on high-grade steaks and seafood, and serving an afternoon tea with a gourmet American twist, CUT at 45 Park Lane was the first European restaurant from legendary chef-restauranteur Wolfgang Puck when it opened with the hotel. Other on-site facilities include a well-stocked gym, library, and cozy bar. If those should fail to satisfy, guests also enjoy access to the perks at The Dorchester, such as a full spa, salon, and four restaurants, including one from Alain Ducasse."

45 Park Lane, Dorchester Collection

"How did it strike you on arrival? This building on Park Lane used to be the home of the Playboy Club, but don’t let that put you off. There are no references to the hotel’s previous life behind the shiny fins of its Art Deco facade. Instead, inside, you’ll find tons of tasteful wood, lashings of honey-hued leather, and chrome. The lobby flows into Cut at 45 Park Lane, one of the best spots for a steak in the city. This is the smallest of the Dorchester Collection's properties and, as such, the vibe is more relaxed boutique than formal grand-dame. What’s the crowd like?An international bunch who prefer the old-world trappings of Mayfair to the newfangled East End. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.Even the smallest rooms are generous and have views of Hyde Park. Décor is a pleasing medley of mint walls, caramel carpet, dark wood, and leather. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase?Daily fresh fruit and juices in the rooms are included in the rate, as are local calls and a change of clothing pressed on arrival. There’s a yoga mat in the room in case you need to stretch off the flight, and free nibbles and coffee are served throughout the day in the Library. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.Bathrooms have both bath and shower, and although they look traditional, clad in top-to-toe marble, they’re secretly up-to-date, with underfloor heating and TVs integrated into mirrors. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Free. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.Guests get free access to the spa at the Dorchester hotel nearby. Wolfgang Puck’s first restaurant in Europe, Cut, specializes in steaks—at $67 for a sirloin, they don’t come cheap, but they also don’t get any better. The walls of the restaurant are brightened up with kaleidoscopic artwork by Damien Hirst. Bottom line: worth it, and why?You get all the perks of a Dorchester Collection property but the feel of a more modern boutique property." - Laura Goulden

45 Park Lane, Dorchester Collection (London, UK) Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"London is a lot of things to a lot of people, and it’s got a diversity of hotels to match. Mayfair in particular is, among other things, one of the hedge-fund capitals of the world. Put frankly, there’s quite a lot of money discreetly hidden discreetly away behind this neighborhood’s doors. And in 45 Park Lane the neighborhood’s got a hotel to match, a hotel that, however fantastically luxe, manages to maintain an air of self-composed, stylish understatement." - Tablet Hotels

A Review of 45 Park Lane in Mayfair, London | Hotels Above Par

"A 46-key Mayfair hotel occupying a striking curved building accented by distinctive horizontal fins, it sits a short stroll from Hyde Park and within easy reach of Buckingham Palace, Bond Street and London’s major museums. The building—originally designed by Walter Gropius and later home to the 1960s Playboy Club and a private residence in the 1990s—was reborn in 2011 and now feels more like a private home than a commercial hotel thanks to Thierry Despont’s Art Deco–tinged interiors and a rotating collection of contemporary British art, including works by Damien Hirst and Sir Peter Blake. Accommodation is intentionally limited (35 rooms and 11 suites) so each space is generously proportioned: the smallest rooms start at just over 380 sq ft while the Penthouse exceeds 1,800 sq ft and offers a wraparound terrace with panoramic city views; rooms feature plush king beds, glass-enclosed multi-head showers, soaking tubs and sweeping vistas of Hyde Park, plus a dedicated personal host for each guest. Dining is a major draw: Wolfgang Puck’s first European restaurant offers a refined, rotating take on the American steakhouse under Executive Chef Elliott Grover; a hidden, nine-seat omakase led by Shinji Kanesaka earned a Michelin star within months of opening; and a sultry bar serves handcrafted cocktails, the chef’s signature ‘Rough CUTs’ and must-order vintage Negronis. The spa, by Jouin Manku, pairs Venetian textiles with treatments from Dr. Uliana Gout and ishga and includes a subterranean 65-foot indoor pool, hydro pool, sauna, steam room, gym and a calm relaxation lounge. Overall, the property blends contemporary chic with classic luxury, delivering highly personalized service and a polished, sexy atmosphere—part of the Dorchester Collection—with rates beginning around $1,200 per night."

STUNNING ! From the minute I arrived till the minute I left . The staff were so helpful and happy and when I asked why everyone was so happy they said they liked working at the hotel and their manager Lee Kelly . This obviously rubs off on the customer as I was treated like a friend and my entire experience of this hotel was nothing but perfection. |Lee it was nice to meet you in the cocktail bar but even nicer to hear the wonderful comments from your colleagues. I will be back in august with my team .

An Unforgettable Masterpiece of Hospitality – 45 Park Lane From the very first moment we arrived at 45 Park Lane, it was abundantly clear that this was not simply a hotel, but a living symphony of elegance, discretion, and heartfelt care. What awaited us was not just a stay, but a curated experience – a masterpiece of luxury hospitality that resonated deeply with every member of my family. Our suite was a true sanctuary. The bespoke presentation tailored specifically to our family was nothing short of extraordinary – a harmonious blend of thoughtful design, curated touches, and an intimate understanding of what true comfort means. From the perfectly placed amenities to the subtle, personalized details that seemed to anticipate our every need, it was clear that every element had been intentionally crafted to enrich our experience. These gestures, though seemingly small, had a profound impact on our sense of being seen, valued, and welcomed. The spa and gym facilities deserve their own standing ovation. Beautifully designed with a timeless aesthetic, the space emanates both serenity and sophistication. The state-of-the-art equipment and immaculate attention to cleanliness and ambiance made every visit feel exclusive and rejuvenating as though the space had been prepared solely for us. The integration of wellness and luxury was seamless and elevating. But what truly makes 45 Park Lane transcend the bounds of even the finest hotels is its remarkable team. Every member of staff exudes professionalism, warmth, and a genuine commitment to excellence. Their intuitive attention to detail, graceful presence, and unwavering dedication to delivering best in class guest experiences left an indelible impression. It is rare to encounter a team so attuned not just to service, but to sincere hospitality. To the entire team at 45 Park Lane – thank you. Yelp
This hotel is beautiful. It's next to the Dorchester, and is part of the same group. It's meant to be thought of, I believe, like a modern Dorchester. There's a Wolfgang Puck restaurant in the hotel, which we didn't get to try but the menu looked amazing. The service at the hotel is great. Check in was quick and we left the obligatory credit card imprint just in case. You're brought up to the room and run through how things work, because it's not second nature to know how to work a television that's part of the bathroom mirror so you can watch it while you soak in a big tub, but that still looks like a mirror when it's off. The amount of technology in the room is crazy. Everything is controlled from remotes, wall panels, and an in-room iPad. We had a balcony allowing us to go out and look out over Park Lane like proper fancy-pants people Unfortunately we had some niggles that lost the 5th star, for me. There was a set of cables and hook-up points to connect your laptop to the big television, which we did so we could watch something on my laptop. Unfortunately it just stopped working and we couldn't make it better - and I was hardly going to call and ask for assistance with it at midnight. I've used the same system before so I know it works with my laptop and how to use it so I'm not sure what went wrong. The free internet is pretty slow. We had upgraded internet but were never given any codes or anything. Again, I should have called and asked but it was very late. I found it hard to know how to work all the controls to turn things on and off and open the curtain and stuff - it's all very flash but sometimes I'd rather just flip a switch, to be honest. And then in the morning, despite having the do not disturb electronically activated on our door, someone knocked and entered to clean the windows. I was in my pajamas and quite perturbed. However it was still an amazing place and very comfortable. Check out took seconds as we only had some complimentary juice from the mini bar and the room was pre-paid by someone else. You can imagine our shock when our credit card came through with a charge for over £400 from the hotel. It took several calls and emails to get the refund sorted, as our room was charged to both us and the person who paid for the room, and we had a mini-bar charge even though we didn't have anything chargeable from said mini-bar. For all the small problems we had, any other hotel would have only been given a 3. But considering the hotel and the reception staff would have earned a 6 if I could, the 4 seems fair. They do run special offers, but this is always a 5* hotel in terms of pricing and service, so plan accordingly! I was lucky to have a £750 room (we were in a group booking from a company, hence the cheaper £400 rate that we were double-charged). An experience I know I won't ever get to repeat, and I'm happy to be able to say I've been there!

Yelp
Love this hotel! This is the only hotel we stay at when we are in London. We used to stay at the Dorchester or Ritz which was a little stuffy. I love how 45 Park Lane has a boutique hotel feel, the staff is always pleasant, the rooms are modern and love, love, love that the marble floor in the bathroom is heated!! The view from the balcony isn't bad either.

Yelp
If you're into the Park Lane side of Hyde Park, this is a terrific modern hotel. Service from check-in to check-out is outstanding. The technology in the rooms is bleeding edge and even though I"m a part-time IT guy, it had me perplexed at times. The in-room snacks and refrigerator goodies are top notch and the B&O TV that swivels from the wall was sharp. The bathroom had both a huge tub and a rain shower head that was very enjoyable. If you're looking for something a bit more traditional, I'd do the Mandarin Oriental on the other side of the park.
