"208 Pizza The eclectic two-story 208 takes the industrial steel and warm woods of a hip downtown New York loft space and gives ita Hong Kong twist—blue and white ceramic tile with Chinese illustrations. The bar downstairs is fun and bustling, while there’s a quieter dining room above, both with some alfresco seating overlooking busy Hollywood Road. Choose from a packed menu of pasta, meat dishes, salads, cured meats, and antipasti. If youwant pizza, this is the place: Thecustom-designed Napoletana pizza oven was shipped over from Italy. A dozen very appealing pies include the Gamberi, with mozzarella, prawns, chili, and salsa verde, andthe Tuscan, topped with goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, crispy bacon, and garlic."

Yelp
Came here without reservation and we (party of 4) could get a table with no problem. Pizza was pretty decent - we didn't try other food - but they took our order to take pictures before serving to us. Bit annoyed for the fact that we paid for food and for their own advertisement. Atmosphere was a bit dull. Not vibey for a restaurant that has most of their table occupied.

Yelp
I have come here a number if times for brunch. 208 has one if the better pizzas in town and I always make sure to order a pizza when I'm here. During brunch you have a choice of a buffet and main or you can have just the buffet or order a la carte. The restaurant is quite kids friendly and the kids menu also a lot of good options. Food: 3.75 stars Service/environment: 3.5 stars Overall: 3.75 stars Recommendations: diavola pizza, fried calamari, broccoli and sausage pizza The pizzas here are Nepalese style and are legit. My favorite is the broccoli and sausage. They add a bit of chili flake to give a nice touch of heat. The crust is nice and spongy and the you get a little am tartness from the broccoli which I really like. The diavola is also quite good if you more into cured meats in your pizza. The pasta here is also quite good and don't shy away if you really want to load up on the carbs.

Yelp
Good pizza, authentic flavors Food: everything we ordered was delicious. The pizza was very good and authentic. I was told it was the best pizza in HK. While this pizza was very good I would not give them that title. Pasta was also yummy. The prices were fair as well. Service: pretty bad service. The waiter is really nice, but he did not come check once and we had to flag him down after an hour of him being MIA. Everyone at our table got their food at different times, I had my pizza 20 mins after everyone else was served which was frustrating especially since the restaurant was not busy. For Hong Kong this is not that unusual but I would not consider it to be good service. Ambiance: the restaurant is very nice. I recommend sitting upstairs for a more charming experience. Overall: I would go back for pizza and apperitivo! The bad service was the only negative.

Yelp
The decor is cool, the clientele is trendy, and the food is delicious - albeit expensive. I love the Negroni here and there's a good selection of wines. Starting with a charcuterie platter with 4 meats - prosciutto Di Parma, wagyu bresaola, capocollo, and a salami ran us 248 HKD, and the Tuscan pizza was about 208 HKD. I have nothing negative to say about this pizza - beautiful tangy chewy crust, foldable and crispy, with the perfect amount of cheese and crunchy sun dried tomatoes and bacon on top. Three glasses of wine later and the bill came to nearly 1000HKD - I would visit again just for those delicious creative pizzas.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised with my visit at 208 last night. We went there mainly for their pizza special and to try their Wagyu steak. The pizza special is that you get the Pizza Cotechino and two glasses of red wine. The taste of the pizza was great, I really liked that they added Pommery mustard on the dish. It brought a nice dimension and kept it well balanced with the sweetness of the onions. The dough was cooked great and the portion generous for 1 person. The Wagyu steak was also nice, cooked correctly at medium rare, a good serving and the fries were crispy with a nice saltiness touch to it. Wine served with the special was a Nebbiolo that night, which went nicely with the two dishes. I like that they put some cucumbers in their water, but as we went late, it tasted stale a little bit. Service was attentive and the venue nicely decorated and kept clean.

Yelp
Executive Summary: Great "real" Italian food in the heart of Hong Kong! Reminds me memories of when I was in Italy! Value (Price/Quality): Good - price point is fair for portion size and quality of ingredients Customer Service: Great customer service! They even made me custom drinks. Take care of dishes not cooked properly and make seating arrangements comfortable. They also serve your food if doing shared plates. You'll like this place if: If you are craving a taste of Italy while stuck in Asia! Don't go here if: If you think Pizza Hut, Spaghetti House, and California Pizza is delicious. Transportation: Not near a subway station and up the hill. Take a taxi to be the most comfortable or walk along Hollywood Road from the mid-level escalators if it's a decent night. Tip: Wagyu 8oz Rib Eye Medium Rare with prosecco potatoes is the best main on the menu! At $480HKD, this is the best steak quality and price. I dream about this steak and eat it everytime I come here and introduce it to everyone who visits me in Hong Kong. The Good, Bad and Ugly Details: Good - great pizza. Bad - pasta is ok, you can skip on trying this here. Ugly - single washrooms can cause a line up on busy nights. Yelp Customer Bottom Line: Order the pizza and the steak and enjoy the night! Must try either for a date or just with friends! Business Opportunity: Your competitors are doing daily specials which could be taking business away from you! Create daily specials to entice your regulars to keep coming back for more.

Yelp
Terrible pasta dishes! If you're looking for a good plate of pasta in Hong Kong, skip this place and report directly to Pici. I would've given this place one star, but it did have a nice atmosphere and seemed like it might be a good place for a drink after work or a pizza. We ordered the octopus carpaccio, which was completely void of flavor, my wife had the linguine vongole (clams), which tasted mostly like salt and looked like a pile of canned clams sitting on cheap pasta that came out of a box from Park-N-Shop. I had the ravioli "melanzana" which by the way was completely misspelled in Italian on the menu. Like the octopus, the ravioli were also pretty much void of flavor and swimming in a soup of sliced cherry tomatoes floating in what I believe was a sugary balsamic fluid which completely contradicted the minute amount of flavor in the ravioli. We promptly decided against desert, paid our $100.00 USD bill and left. That's right $100.00 USD! As far as service, the Hong Kong standard, not a soul asked us how our meal was and after our dinner was served, I had to walk over the the service bar to get the pepper mill to serve our own table. The fresh ground pepper was the only thing in there with a flavor.

Yelp
It's hard to get decent pizza here at a reasonable price, especially all this fancy 'wood fired' 'Neapolitan' style stuff so when my buddy and I ended up here and in need of food their daily special seemed promising. However, their pizza for that week wasn't interesting so I went with the Diavola. Spicy salami, chili and basil? Nice. A thin, small pie came out with a couple slices of salami. The pie itself is pretty well made, on the whole it was baked well; soggy pizza is such a waste. However, the pizza itself was on the small side, and I was basically left wanting more to eat. The dinner for two option sounds like a good deal and I've been meaning to come back to try that out at some point, but I'm not in any rush.

Yelp
Really good Italian food! Nice service and the pizzas.... Wow. The inside is divined into two floors. A bar in street level and the restaurant in the top. The pizza oven is at the top and they have sort of a cosy fine dining thing going on. My partner and I tryed both the Wagu Bolognese and the Rustico pizza. The pizza were THE BOMB! Super good flavors and a pizzacrust that just lingered it's way in to my heart. You must not forget to order some of the drinks on the menu, since the bartender apperently have won a lot of prices, and they both tasted great and looked fantastic.

Yelp
This shi-shi Italian restaurant on Hollywood Rd is another hit or miss depending on what you order. The ambiance is beautiful and romantic, this is a great spot for a date night. And yes, it's pricey. Prepare to spend at least HK$500-$600 per person. Pizza and lobster pasta were some of my favorites.

Yelp
I was nice surprised with the buffet offered and the pasta included on my Sunday meal. Walking HK can be overwhelming and if you just want to have comfort food this is your place. People are nice and the modern mix-decadent visual makes an interesting location. It's more a 3 1/2.

Yelp
Confused by the number of Italian restaurants in Asia and being scared of them all my friend tool me to this place and told me it was awesome. The decor and place itself is authentic and well done. The staff was very nice... You are thinking this should be a 5 star review.... The rest of it fell apart after that. The drinks/beer were decent here too, but the food itself wasn't that great. I'm also comparing this to Italian food elsewhere, not in Asia. The burrata was meh, but the wild boar sausage app was excellent. The biggest issue was that the bread wasn't good at all. First they gave us some pita... yes pita from the store in an Italian place, Then they gave us some italian bread, which was not good at all. You need to have good bread for italian food, come on people...

Yelp
Good pizza but what really wowed me was the interior design. It's a beautiful restaurant and a great place to have both a casual or more formal meal. Would come back just for the setting!

Yelp
Food: I've been here for both brunch and dinner, and I've never been disappointed! The brunch offers a great buffet and the pizza is delicious (I highly recommend the Diavola). I also highly recommend the Bucatini Amatriciana and the Pappardelle Wagyu Bolognese. Atmosphere: Beautiful! Dark (in a cozy, romantic way) and spacious, which is rare in Hong Kong! Service: Really quite good - we've never had a problem with the service, which is always friendly and attentive.

Yelp
I went there with a large group of friends for dinner, so we were put in their private room, which was nicely designed with a large wine rack. What initially drew us to try this place was the very nice interior design, the tiling on the wall is really unique, as well as, the layout of the two-story restaurant. However, considering the prominent foody-centric area it is in, I was greatly disappointed by the quality of my meal. The prices are higher than all the surrounding restaurants, and my main issue is with the portioning and overall presentation and selection they serve considering this unnecessarily inflated cost. I ate with a large group, so we ordered a fair number of dishes from the menu. Unfortunately, none of us really enjoyed our dishes. I order the roasted chicken, which was relatively well-seasoned, but simultaneously rather dry. I was particularly underwhelmed by this chicken as a frequent-poultry-eater. I cannot stress enough that if you are looking for quality chicken, I would suggest you try out Yardbird instead (or any other restaurant, for that matter). It is often said that it is hard to mess up pizza, but alas, the pizzas had a soggy tomato-base, and the crusts were unmistakably burnt. As their most filling and most commonly-ordered dish, this is not worth your time nor money. My friends ordered pasta dishes and were not even full after dinner. This left them annoyed and hungry. Their high prices combined with their lackluster execution left for an unamusing evening. I would not recommend ordering the ravioli or gnocchi, as they will leave you hungry and unimpressed in terms of ingredients, cookery, and diversity. In the end, we had to order two more pizzas for the table to share. Contrarily, I found that their wine selection is fairly extensive, which draws in a fair amount of the restaurants business, but that also makes the bar area very crowded and loud. Having said that, the food was not necessarily that bad, but the portion-size and quality of food for that price was disappointing. The pricing is close to that of Carbone, but the dishes there are of a much higher quality and extremely filling. So, if you're looking for a more authentic fine dining Italian experience, I would recommend splurging at Carbone instead. If you're looking for something in a similar price range, however, I would suggest trying out Motorino's for pizza and Pici or Ciao Chow for pasta. All these restaurants may not measure up in aesthetics, but at least they have better tasting and more authentic Italian food.

Yelp
The success of a restaurant definitely has something to do with its location. 208 Duecento Otto typically falls in that category. Passing by Hollywood road it is hard to ignore the stone gate with a wooden swing outside. 208 has been some safe play for dating which already built up the romance reputation. I would suggest small group here to share its large portions. Starters like calamari, is just a bit better than at casual osteria. Pruscuitto is carefully selected. Their specialty lies in their pizza. It never fails for me so far. The 208 Fettuccina all'Aragosta, made of fettuccine, lobster, bisque, cherry tomatoes and herbs is a killer for tomato-base addicts. The JIA Group, the main group of 208, fancies mainly luxury style. They kept Napoletana pizza oven to bake the conventional delicacy from Naples. And I had the second-best stuffed pizza here, besides master piece from Chicago obtaining the crown for that. Going there for lunch would be wise for set-lunch menu. Anstipasti-buffet set style for unlimited canapés at the bar area, they even serve pizza. Smoking is quite easy to grab your glass and have a little chat with friends on that adorable swing.

Yelp
Seriously good food!!! Just check it out for yourself :) did I mentions this is a great place to impress dates with?....the burrata, pizzas, and rib eye are out of this world?

Yelp
One of the best lunch spots in Sheung Wan. The lunch set includes the salad buffet plus a pizza for 138 HKD. I usually get the Diavola pizza, a bit spicy and simple as pizzas should be. Filling lunch and great place to have meetings. The staffs are friendly and attentive but the best thing about 208 is the location. Right next to Chachawan (same owner as 208), its easy to get to. Come here for a casual or business lunch meeting and you'll have a good time.

Truong L.

Yelp
I only came here for the lunch. Never had dinner here. The pizza was good. I always order the spicy one called Davioli (sp?) and it always get me full. The salad bar is good too. However they should come up with many other dishes. Its the same dish every time we come for lunch. I especially like the ham at the salad bar though. They have three to four selections and its food to go with bread or add it to your existing pizza.

Yelp
Sheung Wan was a dining ghost town before 208 Duecento Otto opened its doors in 2010. Now one of the hippest districts in Hong Kong, 208 is still going strong despite several restaurants following suit and popping up in the area. Hong Kong's first Neopolitan pizzeria, the pies are as good as ever - I cannot get enough of that dough! Whilst the Diavolo is an all time favourite, I've recently fallen in love with the Salsiccia e Friarielli, a tomatoless pizza with mozzarella, Italian green broccoli , sausage and chilli. It's incredibly light yet flavourful and the broccoli makes you feel like you're not being too naughty scoffing a pizza all to yourself. You can choose to dine in the more casua downstairsl bar area (my personal preference) or in the more intimate dining room upstairs. Downstairs, I just love the design - marble bar, blue and white tiles, industrial beams etc. Even the restrooms are pretty! The high table at the back of the ground floor is my favourite spot and perfectly positioned to take advantage of the antipasti buffet at lunch. Speaking of which, the lunch sets are a steal. I personally prefer the $128 pizza set (go figure) which gets you as many trips to the buffet as you would like and one of four pizzas, but the pasta set ($118) is also delicious. Upstairs things get a little fancier with appetisers served to your table and a range of mains that include steak and fish. 208 is a great spot for a glass of wine and a catch up, especially on a nice day when the floor to ceiling doors are open wide. You can find me (and the pug) out front with a glass of rosé or an Aperol Spritz on any sunny Sunday. All in all, I'd describe 208 as an elegant yet approachable restaurant that's great for lunch, brunch, dinner, cocktails... you name it.

Yelp
Really good pizza for a British restaurant. Badly over priced though. Great environment and chill place to relax with nice wine and draft beer. I'd go back. Not when really hungry otherwise I'd spend a fortune.

Kerri-Ann B.

Yelp
Fabulous pizzas and small plates for bigger groups. Cool and trendy vibe. Nice brunch on the weekends, and enough space for larger groups, which can be hard to find in HK.

Kathleen S.

Yelp
This place has so much potential given its location and its really cool design and interior layout. Unfortunately, location and design are the best aspects of the restaurant. Food and service, for me, were a huge disappointment. I went to this restaurant twice for dinner in the bar area, and both times I was underwhelmed with the food and service. On my first visit, I found the calamari to be a bit greasy (I get it -- it's fried -- but it seemed greasier than normal), and the flavor of the sauce accompanying it was just kinda . . . meh. The zucchini flower with anchovies tasted good, but it seemed to be lacking the anchovies. The couple dining next to us had ordered the same thing and had the same complaint. We mentioned this to our waiter, who apologized and said that there were some kinks being worked out in the kitchen. I was very happy with the ravioli with spinach & ricotta and white truffle, however. On my second visit, when I tried to place my food order with the bar staff who had made my cocktail, he passed me off to a different staff member because he said he was "new." It seemed a little weird/unprofessional since he had somehow managed to take my drink order and make my cocktail a few minutes before. I ordered the green bean salad and the diavola pizza. The pizza came out first, which was a little off-putting, as I was hoping to start with the salad (although I didn't specify that, so maybe that is on me). The food runner also brought out a salt and pepper grinder with the pizza (instead of crushed red pepper and parmesan), which I thought was just . . . weird. Salad was well-seasoned and had a good ratio of dressing-to-salad, although I could see it being too salty for some folks. As for the quality of the pizza, I was disappointed and the entire time was wishing that I was eating another Soppressata Piccante pizza from Motorino Pizzeria instead of what I was being subjected to here. The spicy salami on the diavola pizza tasted like packaged lunch meat, and the most unpleasant part was the one bite that left me with an unpleasant piece of gristly fat in my mouth that I had to spit out. The sauce was pretty bland as well. I don't think I'll order another pizza from here again. Based on the interactions I've seen and heard among the staff there, it seems like they have a lot turnover, which doesn't help with quality of service. I might come back here for drinks at some point, but I'll make my way elsewhere if I'm looking to eat a full meal.

Edie H.

Yelp
This is a little Hidden gem on Hollywood. Yes it's Italian food in Hong Kong but I thought the pizza was delicious. Started with a Caesar salad that was also good a little heavy on the dressing. All in all, quite an enjoyable evening.

Tiffany R.

Yelp
My husband and I dined here last night and it was delicious! I had the grapefruit and tequila off their bespoke drink list, then we had a nice bottle of wine. Service was perfect. Timing was spot on and out server was very friendly and knowledgeable when I asked him (many) questions. I had the pea soup of the day and my husband had the burrata to start. We split a margarita pizza, which was delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant, the decor is stunning.

Nate B.

Yelp
I wanted to give them 3 stars but this place is closer to a 2.5. I've ordered food here 3 times (twice dine-in, once take-away) in the last 6 months. The entire restaurant is aesthetically pleasing. Each time I've been inside, everyone has been very friendly. I've ordered a different pizza 3 times (margherita, veggie, diavola). along with a calamari dish once. The cheese they use is exceptional. You can taste the quality; however, the pizza itself always comes slightly undercooked. Maybe it's the style they are going for, but each time the pizza tears like wet paper when I've tried to eat it. In addition, the toppings slip off like a bar of soap. Aside from the great tasting cheese, everything else I've tried on the pizza is just average (I've eaten Za all over Europe, NYC and SF). The wait for the pizza seems forever for some reason. I may have waited 30 min only to have it grossly undercooked. The calamari was way too expensive for what you get, I think I got maybe 4-5 small pieces for $118 hkd and I thought it was just average. Service seemed inattentive at times. While everyone was very nice, you really have to go out of their way to grab their attention. I wanted to like this place and gave it 3 chances, it just isn't worth the price they charge for the service/quality etc. you should get. One last note, I wanted to save my two slices and requested it for take-away; when I get back to the hotel to eat, I find they put the two slices in a small carton. I basically had a blob of cheese and gooy pizza dough for left overs. Yeah, definitely will not be back a 4th time. Don't be fooled by the chic design and hipsters who frequent the place.
