"Arriving just past noon to a hotel in the Soho House group with a 3 p.m. check-in, I found interiors that feel like a polished English country house: peach-painted walls lined with a rich wooden bookcase, a chandelier overhead, and a circular turquoise tufted velvet couch, with another sitting area set around a coffee table topped with a print copy of The Daily Telegraph and antique lithographs on the wall. My room wasn’t ready, but the receptionist told me there’s a trick door hidden in that bookcase that opens to a corridor with two full bathrooms, and I was able to freshen up in a secret shower stocked with Cowshed spa products." - Elise Taylor
