"Temescal Gateway Park, Pacific Palisades. Temescal Gateway Park serves several functions: it is an urban park with picnic benches, grass, and plentiful parking at its entrance from Temescal Canyon; it includes a conference center with cabins and a shop; and, perhaps most importantly, it is a great access point to several trails throughout the Santa Monica Mountains. Perhaps most popular is the moderately strenuous but still accessible Temescal Canyon/Ridge Trail loop. At 2.6 miles, the loop includes a waterfall and incredible views of Santa Monica Bay at its peak. Note that dogs are not allowed on the hiking trails."
