"Cocoa and Co. isn’t a coffee shop so much as a chocolatier that happens to serve baked goods and just-okay coffee. The walls are lined with chocolate in all sorts of bar, bonbon, bark, and other confectionary forms—and while those are great, our favorite method of cocoa consumption is a cup of their drinking chocolate. The frothy concoctions are luscious and creamy but thin enough to be highly drinkable in a variety of flavors. The unadulterated classic version isn’t too sweet, while the chili-cinnamon-nutmeg proportions in the “Mayan Magic” help it bounce between sweet and barely savory in a very pleasant way. The small Old Town space doesn’t have many tables, but it’s a perfect pit stop before strolling in nearby Lincoln Park." - Veda Kilaru
