"Depending on the time of day, Meanwhile Brewing can mean breakfast tacos and coffee (from Pueblo Viejo), a barbecue lunch (from Distant Relatives), or an evening hangout with pizza (from Side Eye Pie). There’s a playground (for kids), a soccer field (for adults), and a stage (for bands). It’s mostly outdoors, anchored around a large patio that feels like an enchanted forest full of trees, and it’s one of our favorite South Austin spots for when we don’t want to deal with tricky parking, expensive drinks, or general rowdiness. We like the German- and Italian-style pilsners here, but you’ll also find every variety of IPA imaginable, as well as stouts, sours, and a helles that we like a lot." - nicolai mccrary
