Lil' Frankie's

"Lil Frankie’s in the East Village works well for many day-to-day situations: a casual catch-up, brunch, a big group dinner, or even a date. And the food—pasta, thin crust pizzas, some vegetables—is all satisfying. The two essential dishes here are the whole roasted eggplant, which you should get spicy, and the spaghetti limone. (You'll want a second order, so just get two from the jump.) There’s always a crowd, but you can usually get a table without too long of a wait, and be sure to bring cash because they don’t take cards." - Willa Moore, Sonal Shah, Neha Talreja, Bryan Kim, Carina Finn Koeppicus

Area 140 First Bar

Bar · East Village

"A neighborhood bar that welcomes the stranger. East Village, New York City. We serve tasty cocktails, and get our beer taps cleaned on the regular. We are doing live band karaoke on Thursdays and Comedy on Wednesdays. We always have the big game on, especially when it's Ipswich Town FC, and otherwise mostly sci-fi as the bar is vaguely themed. We are a great venue for live music, private events, birthday parties, etc. We have a couple of pinball machines and many cozy nooks to have a chat. Our bartenders are friendly and professional. Outside food is allowed. If you're in NYC look us up and we'll hook you up!"
