"First Ward’s B&B Butchers offers one of the longest lists of prime steak cuts in the city. Both dry- and wet-aged steaks, including a mouthful of Japanese options, come a la carte, and can be joined by other cuts from the butcher shop. Other butcher shop specialties, like the aptly named and plainly served $18 sizzling thick cut bacon appetizer, are delicious on their own. Built to resemble an old brick building, both stories of B&B Butchers still have a fresh-out-of-the-plastic sheen, like a high-end -themed restaurant at an amusement park. And while you can order a fleet of (very) expensive steaks, lobster, and fried appetizer skewered with filet mignon and even more bacon, the food might arrive over- or under-cooked—something the excellent staff will happily attempt to remedy, but sending something back doesn’t always guarantee success. Factoring in cost, we suggest celebrating a special occasion elsewhere, but if you just need a steak with a side of attentive service, grabbing a seat at the bar will meet your needs.
