"Wake & Late is a daytime walk-up window in DTLA specializing in breakfast burritos, serving five different kinds of burritos and some very excellent bagels—and nothing else. The steak burrito is our move here: it involves medium-rare sirloin (less salty than their pastrami burrito), plus avocado, grilled onions, pepper jack, fluffy scrambled eggs, and as many tater tots as a middle school lunch plate. Their tangy house hot sauce on the side is excellent, and the vegetarian version is also a winner. Our only complaint is that despite the quality, it's not a large burrito for the price. So if you're just looking for some protein and potatoes to fill you up, this might not be your place. They also have a second location in Pasadena that's equally casual." - Garrett Snyder
