"Nijū comes from the same restaurant group as Endo at the Rotunda and Sumi, and like those spots, this Japanese restaurant in Mayfair attracts a high-end crowd with an insatiable appetite for sushi. Unfortunately Endo Kazutoshi is not in the kitchen here, but Nijū has a safe pair of hands that know their way around fish in the form of Sumi’s ex-head chef. And that’s what you should focus on. While you’ll see all kinds of theatrically grilled meats float through the two dining rooms—one looks like the interior of Air Force One and the other like Muji for people with a Coutts card—it’s hard to look past the excellence of the fish. The chef’s selection adds a Nijū touch to each piece, like otoro topped with (shocker) caviar, or a cube of tosazu jelly on top of sea trout. It’s gorgeous fish and well-treated rice with bags of personality in a restaurant that, although busy, frankly doesn’t have much of it. photo credit: Niju" - Jake Missing
